EPHESIANS
Chapter 5
Ephe | RKJNT | 5:2 | And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us, and has given himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice, a sweet smelling aroma to God.
Ephe | RKJNT | 5:3 | But sexual immorality, and all impurity, or covetousness, must not even be named among you, as is befitting saints;
Ephe | RKJNT | 5:4 | Nor let there be filthiness, or foolish talk, or coarse jesting, which are not proper: but rather giving of thanks.
Ephe | RKJNT | 5:5 | For this you know: that no sexually immoral or impure person, or covetous man, (for such a man is an idolater,) has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Ephe | RKJNT | 5:6 | Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
Ephe | RKJNT | 5:8 | For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord: walk as children of light;
Ephe | RKJNT | 5:12 | For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done by the disobedient in secret.
Ephe | RKJNT | 5:13 | But all things that are exposed by the light become visible: for everything that is made visible is light.
Ephe | RKJNT | 5:14 | Therefore he says, Awaken, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light.
Ephe | RKJNT | 5:19 | Speaking to one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
Ephe | RKJNT | 5:20 | Always giving thanks for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Ephe | RKJNT | 5:23 | For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church, his body: and he himself is its saviour.
Ephe | RKJNT | 5:24 | Therefore, as the church is subject to Christ, so let wives be to their own husbands in everything.
Ephe | RKJNT | 5:25 | Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church, and gave himself up for her;
Ephe | RKJNT | 5:26 | That he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water through the word,
Ephe | RKJNT | 5:27 | That he might present her to himself a glorious church, without spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that she should be holy and without blemish.
Ephe | RKJNT | 5:28 | So husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
Ephe | RKJNT | 5:29 | For no man ever hated his own flesh; but he nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church:
Ephe | RKJNT | 5:31 | For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother, and be joined to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh.
