Chapter 10
Numb DRC 10:1  And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
Numb KJV 10:1  And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
Numb VulgClem 10:1  Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens :
Numb DRC 10:2  Make thee two trumpets of beaten silver, wherewith thou mayest call together the multitude when the camp is to be removed.
Numb KJV 10:2  Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps.
Numb VulgClem 10:2  Fac tibi duas tubas argenteas ductiles, quibus convocare possis multitudinem quando movenda sunt castra.
Numb DRC 10:3  And when thou shalt sound the trumpets, all the multitude shall gather unto thee to the door of the tabernacle of the covenant.
Numb KJV 10:3  And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
Numb VulgClem 10:3  Cumque increpueris tubis, congregabitur ad te omnis turba ad ostium tabernaculi fœderis.
Numb DRC 10:4  If thou sound but once, the princes and the heads of the multitude of Israel shall come to thee.
Numb KJV 10:4  And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee.
Numb VulgClem 10:4  Si semel clangueris, venient ad te principes, et capita multitudinis Israël.
Numb DRC 10:5  But if the sound of the trumpets be longer, and with interruptions, they that are on the east side, shall first go forward.
Numb KJV 10:5  When ye blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward.
Numb VulgClem 10:5  Si autem prolixior atque concisus clangor increpuerit, movebunt castra primi qui sunt ad orientalem plagam.
Numb DRC 10:6  And at the second sounding and like noise of the trumpet, they who lie on the south side shall take up their tents. And after this manner shall the rest do, when the trumpets shall sound for a march.
Numb KJV 10:6  When ye blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys.
Numb VulgClem 10:6  In secundo autem sonitu et pari ululatu tubæ, levabunt tentoria qui habitant ad meridiem ; et juxta hunc modum reliqui facient, ululantibus tubis in profectionem.
Numb DRC 10:7  But when the people is to be gathered together, the sound of the trumpets shall be plain, and they shall not make a broken sound.
Numb KJV 10:7  But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm.
Numb VulgClem 10:7  Quando autem congregandus est populus, simplex tubarum clangor erit, et non concise ululabunt.
Numb DRC 10:8  And the sons of Aaron the priest shall sound the trumpets: and this shall be an ordinance for ever in your generations.
Numb KJV 10:8  And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations.
Numb VulgClem 10:8  Filii autem Aaron sacerdotes clangent tubis : eritque hoc legitimum sempiternum in generationibus vestris.
Numb DRC 10:9  If you go forth to war out of your land against the enemies that fight against you, you shall sound aloud with the trumpets, and there shall be a remembrance of you before the Lord your God, that you may be delivered out of the hands of your enemies.
Numb KJV 10:9  And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.
Numb VulgClem 10:9  Si exieritis ad bellum de terra vestra contra hostes qui dimicant adversum vos, clangetis ululantibus tubis, et erit recordatio vestri coram Domino Deo vestro, ut eruamini de manibus inimicorum vestrorum.
Numb DRC 10:10  If at any time you shall have a banquet, and on your festival days, and on the first days of your months, you shall sound the trumpets over the holocausts, and the sacrifices of peace offerings, that they may be to you for a remembrance of your God. I am the Lord your God.
Numb KJV 10:10  Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the Lord your God.
Numb VulgClem 10:10  Siquando habebitis epulum, et dies festos, et calendas, canetis tubis super holocaustis, et pacificis victimis, ut sint vobis in recordationem Dei vestri. Ego Dominus Deus vester.
Numb DRC 10:11  The second year, in the second month, the twentieth day of the month, the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle of the covenant.
Numb KJV 10:11  And it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up from off the tabernacle of the testimony.

Numb DRC 10:12  And the children of Israel marched by their troops from the desert of Sinai, and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Pharan.
Numb KJV 10:12  And the children of Israel took their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Paran.

Numb DRC 10:13  And the first went forward according to the commandment of the Lord by the hand of Moses.

Numb DRC 10:15  In the tribe of the sons of Issachar, the prince was Nathanael the son of Suar.
Numb KJV 10:15  And over the host of the tribe of the children of Issachar was Nethaneel the son of Zuar.

Numb DRC 10:16  In the tribe of Zabulon, the prince was Eliab the son of Helon.
Numb KJV 10:16  And over the host of the tribe of the children of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Helon.
Numb VulgClem 10:16  In tribu Zabulon erat princeps Eliab filius Helon.
Numb DRC 10:17  And the tabernacle was taken down, and the sons of Gerson and Merari set forward, bearing it.
Numb KJV 10:17  And the tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari set forward, bearing the tabernacle.
Numb VulgClem 10:17  Depositumque est tabernaculum, quod portantes egressi sunt filii Gerson et Merari.
Numb DRC 10:18  And the sons of Ruben also marched, by their troops and ranks, whose prince was Helisur the son of Sedeur.
Numb KJV 10:18  And the standard of the camp of Reuben set forward according to their armies: and over his host was Elizur the son of Shedeur.
Numb VulgClem 10:18  Profectique sunt et filii Ruben, per turmas et ordinem suum : quorum princeps erat Helisur filius Sedeur.
Numb DRC 10:19  And in the tribe of Simeon, the prince was Salamiel the son of Surisaddai.
Numb KJV 10:19  And over the host of the tribe of the children of Simeon was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.

Numb DRC 10:20  And in the tribe of Gad, the prince was Eliasaph the son of Duel.
Numb KJV 10:20  And over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad was Eliasaph the son of Deuel.
Numb VulgClem 10:20  Porro in tribu Gad erat princeps Eliasaph filius Duel.
Numb DRC 10:21  Then the Caathites also marched carrying the sanctuary. So long was the tabernacle carried, till they came to the place of setting it up.
Numb KJV 10:21  And the Kohathites set forward, bearing the sanctuary: and the other did set up the tabernacle against they came.
Numb VulgClem 10:21  Profectique sunt et Caathitæ portantes sanctuarium. Tamdiu tabernaculum portabatur, donec venirent ad erectionis locum.
Numb DRC 10:22  The sons of Ephraim also moved their camp by their troops, in whose army the prince was Elisama the son of Ammiud.
Numb KJV 10:22  And the standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim set forward according to their armies: and over his host was Elishama the son of Ammihud.
Numb VulgClem 10:22  Moverunt castra et filii Ephraim per turmas suas, in quorum exercitu princeps erat Elisama filius Ammiud.
Numb DRC 10:23  And in the tribe of the sons of Manasses, the prince was Gamaliel the son of Phadassur.
Numb KJV 10:23  And over the host of the tribe of the children of Manasseh was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.
Numb VulgClem 10:23  In tribu autem filiorum Manasse princeps fuit Gamaliel filius Phadassur.
Numb DRC 10:24  And in the tribe of Benjamin, the prince was Abidan the son of Gedeon.
Numb KJV 10:24  And over the host of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gideoni.
Numb VulgClem 10:24  Et in tribu Benjamin erat dux Abidan filius Gedeonis.
Numb DRC 10:25  The last of all the camp marched the sons of Dan by their troops, in whose army the prince was Ahiezer the son of Ammisaddai.
Numb KJV 10:25  And the standard of the camp of the children of Dan set forward, which was the rereward of all the camps throughout their hosts: and over his host was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.
Numb VulgClem 10:25  Novissimi castrorum omnium profecti sunt filii Dan per turmas suas, in quorum exercitu princeps fuit Ahiezer filius Ammisaddai.
Numb DRC 10:26  And in the tribe of the sons of Aser, the prince was Phegiel the son of Ochran.
Numb KJV 10:26  And over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the son of Ocran.
Numb VulgClem 10:26  In tribu autem filiorum Aser erat princeps Phegiel filius Ochran.
Numb DRC 10:27  And in the tribe of the sons of Nephtali, the prince was Ahira the son of Enan.
Numb KJV 10:27  And over the host of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Ahira the son of Enan.
Numb VulgClem 10:27  Et in tribu filiorum Nephthali princeps fuit Ahira filius Enan.
Numb DRC 10:28  This was the order of the camps, and marches of the children of Israel by their troops, when they set forward.
Numb KJV 10:28  Thus were the journeyings of the children of Israel according to their armies, when they set forward.
Numb VulgClem 10:28  Hæc sunt castra, et profectiones filiorum Israël per turmas suas quando egrediebantur.
Numb DRC 10:29  And Moses said to Hobab the son of Raguel the Madianite, his kinsman: We are going towards the place which the Lord will give us: come with us, that we may do thee good: for the Lord hath promised good things to Israel.
Numb KJV 10:29  And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses’ father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which the Lord said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the Lord hath spoken good concerning Israel.
Numb VulgClem 10:29  Dixitque Moyses Hobab filio Raguel Madianitæ, cognato suo : Proficiscimur ad locum quem Dominus daturus est nobis : veni nobiscum, ut benefaciamus tibi, quia Dominus bona promisit Israëli.
Numb DRC 10:30  But he answered him: I will not go with thee, but I will return to my country, wherein I was born.
Numb KJV 10:30  And he said unto him, I will not go; but I will depart to mine own land, and to my kindred.
Numb VulgClem 10:30  Cui ille respondit : Non vadam tecum, sed revertar in terram meam, in qua natus sum.
Numb DRC 10:31  And he said: Do not leave us: for thou knowest in what places we should encamp in the wilderness, and thou shalt be our guide.
Numb KJV 10:31  And he said, Leave us not, I pray thee; forasmuch as thou knowest how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou mayest be to us instead of eyes.
Numb VulgClem 10:31  Et ille : Noli, inquit, nos relinquere : tu enim nosti in quibus locis per desertum castra ponere debeamus, et eris ductor noster.
Numb DRC 10:32  And if thou comest with us, we will give thee what is the best of the riches which the Lord shall deliver to us.
Numb KJV 10:32  And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that what goodness the Lord shall do unto us, the same will we do unto thee.
Numb VulgClem 10:32  Cumque nobiscum veneris, quidquid optimum fuerit ex opibus, quas nobis traditurus est Dominus, dabimus tibi.
Numb DRC 10:33  So they marched from the mount of the Lord three days' journey, and the ark of the covenant of the Lord went before them, for three days providing a place for the camp.
Numb KJV 10:33  And they departed from the mount of the Lord three days’ journey: and the ark of the covenant of the Lord went before them in the three days’ journey, to search out a resting place for them.
Numb VulgClem 10:33  Profecti sunt ergo de monte Domini viam trium dierum, arcaque fœderis Domini præcedebat eos, per dies tres providens castrorum locum.
Numb DRC 10:34  The cloud also of the Lord was over them by day when they marched.
Numb KJV 10:34  And the cloud of the Lord was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp.
Numb VulgClem 10:34  Nubes quoque Domini super eos erat per diem cum incederent.
Numb DRC 10:35  And when the ark was lifted up, Moses said: Arise, O Lord, and let thy enemies be scattered, and let them that hate thee, flee from before thy face.
Numb KJV 10:35  And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.
Numb VulgClem 10:35  Cumque elevaretur arca, dicebat Moyses : Surge, Domine, et dissipentur inimici tui, et fugiant qui oderunt te, a facie tua.
Numb DRC 10:36  And when it was set down, he said: Return, O Lord, to the multitude of the host of Israel.
