22:6  Come now therefore, I pray thee, Curse for me this people; for they [are] too mighty for me: it may be I shall prevail, [that] we may smite them, and [that] I may drive them out of the land: for I know that he whom thou blessest [is] blessed, and he whom thou cursest is cursed.

22:7  Moábští a midjánští starší šli s odměnou pro věštce v rukou. Přišli k Bileámovi a vyřídili mu Balákova slova.

22:18  And Balaam answered and said to the servants of Balak, If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of the LORD my God, to do less or more.

22:30  And the ass said unto Balaam, Am not I thine ass, upon which thou hast ridden ever since I was thine unto this day? was I ever wont to do so unto thee? And he said, Nay.

22:30  Oslice Bileámovi odpověděla: „Což nejsem tvá oslice, na níž jezdíš odjakživa až do dneška? Udělala jsem ti někdy něco takového?“ Řekl: „Ne.“

22:30  And the ass said to Balaam, [Am] not I thy ass, upon which thou hast rid ever since [I was] thine to this day? was I ever wont to do so to thee? And he said, Nay.

22:30  The donkey said to Balaam, "Am I not your donkey, on which you have ridden all your life long to this day? Was I ever in the habit of doing so to you?" He said, "No."

22:30  And the ass said to Balaam, Am not I your ass, on which you have ridden ever since I was your to this day? was I ever wont to do so to you? And he said, No.

22:30  Dixit asina : Nonne animal tuum sum, cui semper sedere consuevisti usque in præsentem diem ? dic quid simile umquam fecerim tibi. At ille ait : Numquam.

22:31  Forthwith the Lord opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel standing in the way with a drawn sword, and he worshipped him falling flat on the ground.

22:32  Hospodinův anděl se ho zeptal: Proč jsi takto třikrát bil svou oslici? Hle, já jsem vyšel jako tvůj protivník, neboť ⌈tato cesta je přede mnou pochybená.⌉

22:32  I mluvil k němu anděl Hospodinův: Proč jsi bil oslici svou po třikrát? Aj, já vyšel jsem, abych se protivil tobě; nebo uchýlil jsi se s cesty přede mnou.

22:33  Oslice mě spatřila a vyhnula se mi, teď už potřetí. Kdyby se mi nevyhnula, byl bych tě věru zabil a ji nechal naživu.“

22:34  Bileám odvětil Hospodinovu poslu: „Zhřešil jsem. Nevěděl jsem, že ty ses mi postavil do cesty. Avšak jestliže se ti to nelíbí, vrátím se zpátky.“

22:34  And Balaam said to the angel of the LORD, I have sinned; for I knew not that thou stoodest in the way against me: now therefore, if it displeaseth thee, I will return again.

22:34  And Balaam said to the angel of the LORD, I have sinned; for I knew not that you stood in the way against me: now therefore, if it displease you, I will get me back again.

22:34  Dixit Balaam : Peccavi, nesciens quod tu stares contra me : et nunc si displicet tibi ut vadam, revertar.

22:35  The angel said: Go with these men, and see thou speak no other thing than what I shall command thee. He went therefore with the princes.

22:35  And the angel of the Lord said unto Balaam, Go with the men: but only the word that I shall speak unto thee, that thou shalt speak. So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.

22:35  Hospodinův posel odpověděl Bileámovi: „Jdi s těmi muži, ale nebudeš mluvit nic než to, co já budu mluvit k tobě.“ Bileám tedy šel s Balákovými velmoži.

22:35  Hospodinův anděl řekl Bileámovi: Jdi s těmi muži. Ovšem jenom to slovo, které k tobě budu mluvit, to budeš mluvit. Bileám tedy šel s Balákovými knížaty.

22:35  Řekl anděl Hospodinův k Balámovi: Jdi s muži těmi, avšak slovo, kteréž mluviti budu tobě, to mluviti budeš. Tedy šel Balám s knížaty Balákovými.

22:37  Balák uvítal Balaáma slovy: „Cožpak jsem ti neposílal pozvání? Proč jsi ke mně nešel? Že bych tě neuměl náležitě poctít?“

22:37  Balák Bileámovi řekl: Cožpak jsem k tobě neposlal, aby tě zavolali? Proč jsi ke mně nepřišel? Opravdu tě nedokážu poctít?

22:37  I řekl Balák Balámovi: Zdaliž jsem víc než jednou neposílal pro tě? Pročež jsi tedy nepřišel ke mně? Proto-li, že bych tě náležitě uctiti nemohl?

22:37  And Balak said to Balaam, Did I not earnestly send to thee to call thee? why camest thou not to me? am I not able indeed to promote thee to honor?

22:38  He answered him: Lo, here I am: shall I have power to speak any other thing but that which God shall put in my mouth?

22:38  Bileám odpověděl Balákovi: „Teď jsem k tobě přišel. Budu však vůbec s to něco promluvit? Budu moci mluvit jen to, co mi vloží do úst Bůh.“

22:38  Balaám Balákovi odpověděl: „Hle, přišel jsem k tobě. Nicméně, nebudu moci říkat jen tak něco. Řeknu jen to, co mi do úst vloží Bůh.“

22:38  Bileám řekl Balákovi: Hle, teď jsem k tobě přišel. Budu ale moci vůbec něco promluvit? Slovo, které Bůh vloží do mých úst, to budu mluvit.

22:38  Odpověděl Balám Balákovi: Aj, již jsem přišel k tobě; nyní pak zdaliž všelijak budu co moci mluviti? Slovo, kteréž vložil Bůh v ústa má, to mluviti budu.

22:38  And Balaam said to Balak, Lo, I have come to thee: have I now any power at all to say any thing? the word that God putteth in my mouth, that shall I speak.
