LUKE
Chapter 10
Luke | RKJNT | 10:1 | After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them out two by two before him into every town and place where he would go.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:2 | And he said to them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: therefore pray to the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:6 | And if a son of peace is there, your peace shall rest upon him: if not, it shall turn to you.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:7 | Remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his wages. Do not go from house to house.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:8 | And into whatever town you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:
Luke | RKJNT | 10:9 | And heal the sick who are in it, and say to them, The kingdom of God has come near to you.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:10 | But into whatever town you enter, and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say,
Luke | RKJNT | 10:11 | Even the very dust of your town, which clings to us, we wipe off against you: nevertheless, be sure of this, that the kingdom of God has come near to you.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:12 | I say to you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that town.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:13 | Woe to you, Chorazin! woe to you, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:15 | And you, Capernaum, will not be exalted to heaven; you shall be thrust down to Hades.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:16 | He who hears you hears me; and he who despises you despises me; and he who despises me despises him who sent me.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:17 | And the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject to us through your name.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:19 | Behold, I give to you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:20 | Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you; but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:21 | In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them to babes: yea, Father; for so it seemed good in your sight.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:22 | All things have been given to me by my Father: and no man knows who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:23 | And he turned to his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that you see:
Luke | RKJNT | 10:24 | For I tell you, that many prophets and kings desired to see those things which you see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which you hear, and have not heard them.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:25 | And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tested him, saying, Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
Luke | RKJNT | 10:27 | And he answered, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbour as yourself.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:30 | And Jesus answered, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, who stripped him of his clothing, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:31 | And by chance a certain priest came down that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:32 | And likewise a Levite, when he came to that place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:33 | But a certain Samaritan, as he traveled, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
Luke | RKJNT | 10:34 | And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:35 | And on the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, and gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:36 | Now which of these three, do you think, was a neighbour to him who fell among the robbers?
Luke | RKJNT | 10:37 | And he said, He who showed mercy on him. Then Jesus said to him, Go, and do likewise.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:38 | Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a woman named Martha received him into her house.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:40 | But Martha was distracted by many tasks, and came to him, and said, Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? then tell her to help me.
Luke | RKJNT | 10:41 | And Jesus answered her, Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things:
