Chapter 21
Luke Worsley 21:1  And He looked up and saw the rich people bringing their gifts to the treasury:
Luke Worsley 21:2  and He saw also a poor widow throwing in two mites.
Luke Worsley 21:3  And He said, Verily I tell you, this poor widow hath put in more than they all.
Luke Worsley 21:4  For all these have out of their abundance contributed to the offerings of God: but she out of her penury hath given all she had.
Luke Worsley 21:5  And as some were speaking of the temple; how it was adorned with beautiful stones and gifts, He said, As for these things which ye see,
Luke Worsley 21:6  the days will come, in which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be demolished.
Luke Worsley 21:7  And they asked Him, saying, Master, when shall these things be? And what will be the sign when these things shall come to pass?
Luke Worsley 21:8  And He said, Take heed that ye be not deceived; for many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and the time is near: but do not therefore go after them.
Luke Worsley 21:9  And when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these must first happen; but the end will not be directly.
Luke Worsley 21:10  Then said He unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom;
Luke Worsley 21:11  and there will be great earthquakes in several places, and famines, and pestilences, and fearful sights and great prodigies from heaven.
Luke Worsley 21:12  But before all these things they will lay hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues, and prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake:
Luke Worsley 21:14  Fix it therefore in your hearts not to premeditate a defence: for I will give you a mouth and wisdom,
Luke Worsley 21:15  which all your adversaries shall not be able to contradict nor withstand.
Luke Worsley 21:16  But ye shall be betrayed even by parents, and brethren, and kindred and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death:
Luke Worsley 21:20  And when ye shall see Jerusalem surrounded with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh: then let them that are in Judea flee to the mountains,
Luke Worsley 21:21  and those that are in the midst of it, depart; and let not them that are in the countries enter into it.
Luke Worsley 21:22  For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
Luke Worsley 21:23  But wo to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days; for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people,
Luke Worsley 21:24  and they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and be led captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trampled down by the Gentiles, till the times of the Gentiles too shall be fulfilled.
Luke Worsley 21:25  And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity, the sea and the waves roring:
Luke Worsley 21:26  and men ready to die for fear and apprehension of the things that are coming upon the land; for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
Luke Worsley 21:27  And then shall they see the Son of man coming, as on a cloud, with power and great glory.
Luke Worsley 21:28  But when these things begin to come to pass, look upwards and lift up your heads, for your redemption draweth nigh.
Luke Worsley 21:29  And He spake a parable to them, Behold the fig-tree,
Luke Worsley 21:30  and all the trees, when they shoot out, ye see and know of yourselves that summer is now near:
Luke Worsley 21:31  so likewise know ye, when ye see these things coming to pass, that the kingdom of God is at hand.
Luke Worsley 21:32  Verily I tell you, this generation shall not pass away till all be accomplished.
Luke Worsley 21:33  Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
Luke Worsley 21:34  Take heed to yourselves, least at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting and drunkenness, and the cares of life, and so that day should come upon you unawares:
Luke Worsley 21:35  for as a snare shall it come upon all that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
Luke Worsley 21:36  Watch therefore and be constant in prayer, that ye may be counted worthy to escape all these things, which shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Luke Worsley 21:37  Thus He was by day teaching in the temple; and at night He retired to the mount called the mount of Olives.
Luke Worsley 21:38  And all the people came early in the morning to Him in the temple to hear Him.
