12:1  Now these are they that came to David to Siceleg, while he yet fled from Saul the son of Cis, and they were most valiant and excellent warriors,

12:18  David jim vyšel vstříc a takto je oslovil: „Přicházíte-li ke mně v pokoji, abyste mi pomohli, ze srdce rád se s vámi spojím. Jestliže mě však chcete vyzradit mým protivníkům, i když na mých rukou nelpí násilí, ať to Bůh našich otců vidí a ztrestá.“

12:18  David jim vyšel vstříc se slovy: „Pokud ke mně přicházíte v pokoji, abyste mi pomáhali, spojím se s vámi celým srdcem. Pokud mě ale chcete vyzradit mým nepřátelům, ačkoli jsem nevinný, ať to Bůh našich otců vidí a soudí!“

12:19  Tenkrát sestoupil Duch na velitele Třicítky, Amasaje: „Patříme tobě, Davide, jsme na tvé straně, synu Jišaje! Pokoj, pokoj buď tobě i tvým pomocníkům pokoj buď – vždyť ti pomáhá sám tvůj Bůh!“ A tak je David přijal a jmenoval je veliteli nájezdníků.

12:19  Duch vyzbrojil Amasaje, vůdce kapitánů, takže řekl: Tobě patříme, Davide, s tebou jsme, synu Jišajův. ⌈Pokoj, pokoj tobě,⌉ pokoj tvým pomocníkům, vždyť ti pomáhá tvůj Bůh. David je přijal a ustanovil je vůdci oddílů.

12:38  All these men of war, that could keep rank, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.
