1:3  Bratři, jsme zavázáni stále za vás Bohu vzdávat díky, jak je to správné, protože převelice roste vaše víra a rozhojňuje se láska všech vás k sobě navzájem.

1:3  Povinniť jsme díky činiti Bohu vždycky z vás, bratří, tak jakž hodné jest, proto že velmi roste víra vaše, a rozmáhá se láska jednoho každého z vás, všechněch k sobě vespolek,

2:2  abyste se nedali snadno vyvést z rovnováhy nebo vylekat nějakým projevem ducha nebo řečí či listem, domněle pocházejícím od nás, jako by den Páně měl už nastat.

2:2  nenechte se tak snadno vyvádět z míry a lekat, ať už proroctvím, kázáním nebo dopisem (údajně od nás), že prý Pánův den už přišel.

2:2  abyste se nenechali snadno otřást ve svém poznání ani vylekat buď skrze ducha, nebo skrze slovo nebo skrze dopis, vydávaný za náš, jako by den Pánův již nastal.

2:2  Abyste se nedali rychle vyrážeti z mysli, ani kormoutiti, buď skrze ducha, buď skrze řeč, neb skrze list, jako od nás poslaný, jako by nastával den Kristův.

2:3  Žádným způsobem se nedejte od nikoho oklamat, protože nenastane, dokud nedojde ke vzpouře proti Bohu a neobjeví se člověk nepravosti, Syn zatracení.

2:3  Nenechte se od nikoho žádným způsobem oklamat. Než ten den přijde, musí nastat odvrácení od Boha. Musí se objevit ten bezbožník a zatracenec,

2:3  Ne quis vos seducat ullo modo : quoniam nisi venerit discessio primum, et revelatus fuerit homo peccati filius perditionis,

2:4  Who opposeth and is lifted up above all that is called God or that is worshipped, so that he sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself as if he were God.

2:4  Ten se postaví na odpor a ‚povýší se nade všecko, co má jméno Boží‘ nebo čemu se vzdává božská pocta. Dokonce ‚usedne v chrámu Božím‘ a bude se vydávat za Boha.

2:4  který se postaví na odpor a povýší se nade všechno, čemu se říká Bůh a co se uctívá. Usadí se dokonce v Božím chrámu a bude se vydávat za Boha!

2:6  Víte přece, co zatím brání tomu, aby se ukázal dříve, než přijde jeho čas.

2:8  A pak se ukáže ten zlý, kterého Pán Ježíš ‚zabije dechem svých úst‘ a zničí svým slavným příchodem.
