Chapter 37
Psal DRC 37:1  A psalm for David, for a remembrance of the sabbath.
Psal VulgClem 37:1  Psalmus David, in rememorationem de sabbato.
Psal KJV 37:1  Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
Psal DRC 37:2  Rebuke me not, O Lord, in thy indignation; nor chastise me in thy wrath.
Psal VulgClem 37:2  Domine, ne in furore tuo arguas me, neque in ira tua corripias me :
Psal KJV 37:2  For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
Psal DRC 37:3  For thy arrows are fastened in me: and thy hand hath been strong upon me.
Psal VulgClem 37:3  quoniam sagittæ tuæ infixæ sunt mihi, et confirmasti super me manum tuam.
Psal KJV 37:3  Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
Psal DRC 37:4  There is no health in my flesh, because of thy wrath: there is no peace for my bones, because of my sins.
Psal VulgClem 37:4  Non est sanitas in carne mea, a facie iræ tuæ ; non est pax ossibus meis, a facie peccatorum meorum :
Psal KJV 37:4  Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Psal DRC 37:5  For my iniquities are gone over my head: and as a heavy burden are become heavy upon me.
Psal VulgClem 37:5  quoniam iniquitates meæ supergressæ sunt caput meum, et sicut onus grave gravatæ sunt super me.
Psal KJV 37:5  Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
Psal DRC 37:6  My sores are putrefied and corrupted, because of my foolishness.
Psal VulgClem 37:6  Putruerunt et corruptæ sunt cicatrices meæ, a facie insipientiæ meæ.
Psal KJV 37:6  And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
Psal DRC 37:7  I am become miserable, and am bowed down even to the end: I walked sorrowful all the day long.
Psal VulgClem 37:7  Miser factus sum et curvatus sum usque in finem ; tota die contristatus ingrediebar.
Psal KJV 37:7  Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Psal DRC 37:8  For my loins are filled with illusions; and there is no health in my flesh.
Psal VulgClem 37:8  Quoniam lumbi mei impleti sunt illusionibus, et non est sanitas in carne mea.
Psal KJV 37:8  Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
Psal DRC 37:9  I am afflicted and humbled exceedingly: I roared with the groaning of my heart.
Psal VulgClem 37:9  Afflictus sum, et humiliatus sum nimis ; rugiebam a gemitu cordis mei.
Psal KJV 37:9  For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.
Psal DRC 37:10  Lord, all my desire is before thee, and my groaning is not hidden from thee.
Psal VulgClem 37:10  Domine, ante te omne desiderium meum, et gemitus meus a te non est absconditus.
Psal KJV 37:10  For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.
Psal DRC 37:11  My heart is troubled, my strength hath left me, and the light of my eyes itself is not with me.
Psal VulgClem 37:11  Cor meum conturbatum est ; dereliquit me virtus mea, et lumen oculorum meorum, et ipsum non est mecum.
Psal KJV 37:11  But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
Psal DRC 37:12  My friends and my neighbours have drawn near, and stood against me. And they that were near me stood afar off:
Psal VulgClem 37:12  Amici mei et proximi mei adversum me appropinquaverunt, et steterunt ; et qui juxta me erant, de longe steterunt : et vim faciebant qui quærebant animam meam.
Psal KJV 37:12  The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.
Psal DRC 37:13  And they that sought my soul used violence. And they that sought evils to me spoke vain things, and studied deceits all the day long.
Psal VulgClem 37:13  Et qui inquirebant mala mihi, locuti sunt vanitates, et dolos tota die meditabantur.
Psal KJV 37:13  The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.
Psal DRC 37:14  But I, as a deaf man, heard not: and as a dumb man not opening his mouth.
Psal VulgClem 37:14  Ego autem, tamquam surdus, non audiebam ; et sicut mutus non aperiens os suum.
Psal KJV 37:14  The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.
Psal DRC 37:15  And I became as a man that heareth not: and that hath no reproofs in his mouth.
Psal VulgClem 37:15  Et factus sum sicut homo non audiens, et non habens in ore suo redargutiones.
Psal KJV 37:15  Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
Psal DRC 37:16  For in thee, O Lord, have I hoped: thou wilt hear me, O Lord my God.
Psal VulgClem 37:16  Quoniam in te, Domine, speravi ; tu exaudies me, Domine Deus meus.
Psal KJV 37:16  A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
Psal DRC 37:17  For I said: Lest at any time my enemies rejoice over me: and whilst my feet are moved, they speak great things against me.
Psal VulgClem 37:17  Quia dixi : Nequando supergaudeant mihi inimici mei ; et dum commoventur pedes mei, super me magna locuti sunt.
Psal KJV 37:17  For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord upholdeth the righteous.
Psal DRC 37:18  For I am ready for scourges: and my sorrow is continually before me.
Psal VulgClem 37:18  Quoniam ego in flagella paratus sum, et dolor meus in conspectu meo semper.
Psal KJV 37:18  The Lord knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
Psal DRC 37:19  For I will declare my iniquity: and I will think for my sin.
Psal VulgClem 37:19  Quoniam iniquitatem meam annuntiabo, et cogitabo pro peccato meo.
Psal KJV 37:19  They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
Psal DRC 37:20  But my enemies live, and are stronger than I: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.
Psal VulgClem 37:20  Inimici autem mei vivunt, et confirmati sunt super me : et multiplicati sunt qui oderunt me inique.
Psal KJV 37:20  But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
Psal DRC 37:21  They that render evil for good, have detracted me, because I followed goodness.
Psal VulgClem 37:21  Qui retribuunt mala pro bonis detrahebant mihi, quoniam sequebar bonitatem.
Psal KJV 37:21  The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.
Psal DRC 37:22  For sake me not, O Lord my God: do not thou depart from me.
Psal VulgClem 37:22  Ne derelinquas me, Domine Deus meus ; ne discesseris a me.
Psal KJV 37:22  For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.
Psal DRC 37:23  Attend unto my help, O Lord, the God of my salvation.
Psal VulgClem 37:23  Intende in adjutorium meum, Domine Deus salutis meæ.
Psal KJV 37:23  The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.

Psal KJV 37:28  For the Lord loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
