MATTHEW
Chapter 25
Matt | Worsley | 25:1 | Then will the kingdom of heaven be like ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom: and five of them were wise,
Matt | Worsley | 25:6 | and in the middle of the night there was a cry, The bridegroom is coming, go out to meet him.
Matt | Worsley | 25:8 | and the foolish ones said to the wise, Give us of your oil, for our lamps are going out:
Matt | Worsley | 25:9 | but the wise answered them, saying, Least there should not be enough for us and you, go rather to them that sell it, and buy for yourselves.
Matt | Worsley | 25:10 | And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and they that were ready went in with him to the wedding-feast, and then the door was shut.
Matt | Worsley | 25:13 | Watch therefore, for ye know not the day, nor the season in which the Son of man cometh.
Matt | Worsley | 25:14 | For as a man, who was going to travel abroad, called his servants, and delivered to them his stock: and to one he gave five talents,
Matt | Worsley | 25:15 | to another two, and to another one; to each according to his ability: and then he took his journey.
Matt | Worsley | 25:16 | Now he that had received the five talents, went and traded with them, and gained other five talents:
Matt | Worsley | 25:18 | but he who had received the one, went and digged in the earth, and hid his master's money:
Matt | Worsley | 25:19 | and after some time the lord of those servants cometh and settleth his account with them.
Matt | Worsley | 25:20 | And he who had received the five talents came and brought to him five talents more, saying, Sir, thou deliveredst to me five talents, behold I have gained other five talents to them:
Matt | Worsley | 25:21 | and his lord said to him, Well done, my good and trusty servant, thou hast been faithful in a few things, I will set thee over many, enter into thy master's joy.
Matt | Worsley | 25:22 | And he also who had received the two talents came to him and said, Lord, thou deliveredst to me two talents, behold I have gained two other talents with them:
Matt | Worsley | 25:23 | his lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant, thou hast been faithful in a few things, I will set thee over many, enter into the joy of thy lord.
Matt | Worsley | 25:24 | And he also who received the one talent came to him and said, Sir, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou sowedst not, and gathering where thou hast not strewed;
Matt | Worsley | 25:25 | and I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the ground; behold, there is thine own:
Matt | Worsley | 25:26 | but his lord answered and said to him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strewed;
Matt | Worsley | 25:27 | thou oughtest then to have put my money to the bankers, and when I came I should have received my own with interest.
Matt | Worsley | 25:28 | Take ye therefore the talent from him, and give it to him that hath the ten talents;
Matt | Worsley | 25:29 | (for to every one that hath shall be given, and he shall abound; but from him that hath not, even what he hath, or seemeth to have, shall be taken away:)
Matt | Worsley | 25:30 | and cast out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness, where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Matt | Worsley | 25:31 | So when the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon his glorious throne:
Matt | Worsley | 25:32 | and all nations shall be assembled before Him; and He shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides the sheep from the goats:
Matt | Worsley | 25:34 | Then will the king say to them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Matt | Worsley | 25:35 | for I was famishing, and ye gave me food; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in;
Matt | Worsley | 25:36 | I was naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye took care of me; I was in prison, and ye visited me.
Matt | Worsley | 25:37 | Then will the righteous answer Him, saying, Lord, when did we see thee hungry, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
Matt | Worsley | 25:39 | or naked, and clothed thee? and when did we see thee sick, or in prison, and visited thee?
Matt | Worsley | 25:40 | And the king replying will say unto them, Verily I declare unto you, inasmuch as ye did it to one of the lest of these my brethren, ye did it to me.
Matt | Worsley | 25:41 | Then will He say also to those on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
Matt | Worsley | 25:42 | for I was famishing, and ye gave me nothing to eat; I was a-thirst, and ye gave me no drink;
Matt | Worsley | 25:43 | I was a stranger, and ye took me not in; naked, and ye clothed me not; sick, and in prison, and ye took no care of me.
Matt | Worsley | 25:44 | Then will they also answer Him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee famishing, or a-thirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not relieve thee?
Matt | Worsley | 25:45 | Then will He reply to them, saying, Verily I tell you, inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the lest of these, ye did it not to me.
