Chapter 1
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 1:2 | God [is] jealous, and the LORD avenges; the LORD avenges and [is] furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserves [wrath] for his enemies.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 1:3 | The LORD [is] slow to anger and great in power and will not at all treat the guilty as though they were innocent; the LORD whose way [is] in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds [are] the dust of his feet.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 1:4 | He reprehends the sea and makes it dry and dries up all the rivers; Bashan was destroyed, and Carmel; and the flower of Lebanon was destroyed.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 1:5 | The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, and the world and all that dwell therein.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 1:6 | Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 1:7 | The LORD [is] good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows those that trust in him.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 1:8 | But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of his place, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 1:9 | What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end; he will not hold back the tribulation the second time.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 1:10 | For while [they are] entwined together [as] thorns, and while the drunkards shall be drinking, they shall be devoured as stubble full of dryness.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 1:11 | He has come out of thee that has imagined evil against the LORD, a counsellor of Belial.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 1:12 | Thus hath the LORD said: For much rest that they have, and though they are many, yet thus shall they be cut down, and [he] shall pass through. Though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 1:14 | And the LORD shall give a commandment concerning thee [that] no one else of thy name ever be sown; out of the house of thy god I will cut off the graven image and the molten image; I will make it thy grave because thou wert vile.
Chapter 2
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 2:1 | The destroyer is risen up against thee: keep the fortress, watch the way, make [thy] loins strong, fortify [thy] power mightily.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 2:2 | For the LORD shall restore the glory of Jacob as the glory of Israel; for the emptiers have emptied them out and marred their vine branches.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 2:3 | The shield of his valiant ones shall be red, the men of [his] army [are] in scarlet, the chariot [as] fire of torches [in] the day which shall be made ready; the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 2:4 | The chariots shall rage in the streets; they shall flow through the streets, their faces like torches; they shall run like the lightnings.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 2:5 | He shall remember his valiant ones; they shall stumble in their walk when they make haste to their wall, and the covering shall be prepared.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 2:7 | And the queen shall be taken captive; they shall order her to go up, and her maids shall take [her], mourning as with the voice of doves, beating upon their breasts.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 2:8 | And Nineveh was of old like a pool of water; but [now] they flee away. Stand, stand, [shall they cry]; but no one looks [back].
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 2:9 | Take the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold, for [there is] no end of the riches; honour, more than all the desirable furniture.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 2:10 | She is empty and worn out and is in pieces, and the heart melted, the knees smite together, and much pain [is] in the kidneys, and the faces of them all gather blackness.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 2:11 | What of the dwelling of the lions and of the feeding place of the young lions where the lion and the lioness walked [and] the lion's whelps, and no one made [them] afraid?
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 2:12 | The lion tore in pieces enough for his whelps and strangled for his lionesses and filled his holes with prey and his dens with robbery.
Chapter 3
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 3:1 | Woe to the bloody city! it [is] all full of lies [and] robbery; stealing does not depart [from her]!
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 3:2 | The noise of [the] whip and the noise of the rattling of the wheels and of the prancing horses and of the jumping chariots [shall be heard in thee].
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 3:3 | The horseman lifts up both the bright sword and the glittering spear, and [there is] a multitude of slain and a great number of carcasses; and [there] shall be no end of [their] corpses; they stumble upon their corpses,
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 3:4 | because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the harlot of beautiful grace, the mistress of witchcrafts that sells the Gentiles [into slavery] through her whoredoms and peoples through her witchcrafts.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 3:5 | Here I [am] against thee, saith the LORD of the hosts, and I will uncover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will show the Gentiles thy nakedness and the kingdoms thy shame.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 3:6 | And I will cast abominable filth upon thee and make thee vile and will set thee as dung.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 3:7 | And it shall come to pass, [that] all those that look upon thee shall flee from thee and say, Nineveh is laid waste; who will bemoan her? from where shall I seek comforters for thee?
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 3:8 | Art thou better than populous No that was situated among the rivers, [that had] the waters round about it, whose rampart [was] the sea, [and] her wall [was] from the sea?
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 3:10 | Yet she [was] carried away, she went into captivity; her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her nobles were bound in chains.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 3:11 | Thou also shalt be drunken; thou shalt be encompassed; thou also shalt seek strength because of the enemy.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 3:12 | All thy strongholds [are like] fig trees with the firstripe figs; if they are shaken, they even fall into the mouth of the eater.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 3:13 | Behold, thy people in the midst of thee [shall be like] women; the gates of thy land shall be set wide open unto thine enemies; the fire shall devour thy bars.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 3:14 | Draw thee waters for the siege, fortify thy strong holds: go into clay, and tread the mortar, make strong the brickkiln.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 3:15 | There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off; it shall eat thee up like the cankerworm: make thyself many as the cankerworm, make thyself many as the locusts.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 3:16 | Thou hast multiplied thy merchants above the stars of heaven; the cankerworm spoils and flies away.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 3:17 | Thy princes [shall be] as the locusts and thy captains as the great grasshoppers which camp in the hedges in the cold day, [but] when the sun arises, they flee away, and it is not known where they were.
Nahu | Jubilee2 | 3:18 | Thy shepherds have slumbered, O king of Assyria; thy valiant ones are at rest; thy people scattered themselves upon the mountains, and there is no one to unite [them].
