Chapter 2
Acts RKJNT 2:1  And when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.
Acts RKJNT 2:2  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
Acts RKJNT 2:3  And there appeared to them tongues, as of fire, which separated and came to rest upon each of them.
Acts RKJNT 2:4  And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts RKJNT 2:5  And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
Acts RKJNT 2:6  Now when this sound was heard, the multitude came together, and were bewildered, because every one heard them speak in his own language.
Acts RKJNT 2:7  And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these who speak Galilaeans?
Acts RKJNT 2:8  And how is it we each hear them in our own tongue, in the language to which we were born?
Acts RKJNT 2:9  Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
Acts RKJNT 2:10  Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya around Cyrene, and strangers from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,
Acts RKJNT 2:11  Cretans and Arabs, we hear them speak in our tongues of the mighty works of God.
Acts RKJNT 2:12  And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What does this mean?
Acts RKJNT 2:13  Others said mockingly, These men are full of new wine.
Acts RKJNT 2:14  But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said to them, You men of Judaea, and all you who live in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words:
Acts RKJNT 2:15  For these men are not drunk, as you suppose, for it is only the third hour of the day.
Acts RKJNT 2:16  But this is that which was spoken of by the prophet Joel;
Acts RKJNT 2:17  And it shall come to pass in the last days, declares God, That I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
Acts RKJNT 2:18  And in those days I will pour out my Spirit on my menservants and on my maidservants; and they shall prophesy:
Acts RKJNT 2:19  And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs on the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
Acts RKJNT 2:20  The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and glorious day of the Lord shall come:
Acts RKJNT 2:21  And it shall come to pass, that whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Acts RKJNT 2:22  You men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs, which God performed by him in your midst, as you yourselves know:
Acts RKJNT 2:23  This man, being delivered up by the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you have taken, and by the hands of wicked men have crucified and slain.
Acts RKJNT 2:24  But God has raised him up, having freed him from the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be held by it.
Acts RKJNT 2:25  For David speaks of him, I saw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be shaken:
Acts RKJNT 2:26  Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover my flesh shall also abide in hope:
Acts RKJNT 2:27  Because you will not leave my soul in Hades, neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay.
Acts RKJNT 2:28  You have made known to me the ways of life; you shall make me full of joy with your presence.
Acts RKJNT 2:29  Brethren, let me say confidently to you of the patriarch David; that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
Acts RKJNT 2:30  Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath that he would seat one of his descendants upon his throne;
Acts RKJNT 2:31  He foresaw this and spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in Hades, neither did his flesh see corruption.
Acts RKJNT 2:32  This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses.
Acts RKJNT 2:33  Therefore, being exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured forth this, which you now see and hear.
Acts RKJNT 2:34  For David did not ascend into the heavens: but he himself says, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit on my right hand,
Acts RKJNT 2:35  Until I make your foes a footstool for your feet.
Acts RKJNT 2:36  Therefore, let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.
Acts RKJNT 2:37  Now when they heard this, they were pricked to the heart, and said to Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Brethren, what shall we do?
Acts RKJNT 2:38  Then Peter said to them, Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts RKJNT 2:39  For the promise is for you, and for your children, and for all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Acts RKJNT 2:40  And with many other words did he testify and exhort them, saying, Save yourselves from this perverse generation.
Acts RKJNT 2:41  Then those who received his word were baptized: and that same day there were added to their number about three thousand souls.
Acts RKJNT 2:42  And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' teaching and fellowship, and in the breaking of bread, and in prayer.
Acts RKJNT 2:43  And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
Acts RKJNT 2:44  And all who believed were together, and had all things in common;
Acts RKJNT 2:45  And they sold their possessions and goods, and distributed them to all men, as every man had need.
Acts RKJNT 2:46  And they continued daily to assemble in the temple, and to break bread from house to house, and to eat their food with gladness and sincerity of heart,
Acts RKJNT 2:47  Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
