Chapter 13
Levi DRC 13:1  And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying:
Levi KJV 13:1  And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, saying,
Levi VulgClem 13:1  Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, et Aaron, dicens :
Levi DRC 13:2  The man in whose skin or flesh shall arise a different colour or a blister, or as it were something shining, that is the stroke of the leprosy, shall be brought to Aaron the priest, or any or of his sons.
Levi KJV 13:2  When a man shall have in the skin of his flesh a rising, a scab, or bright spot, and it be in the skin of his flesh like the plague of leprosy; then he shall be brought unto Aaron the priest, or unto one of his sons the priests:
Levi VulgClem 13:2  Homo, in cujus cute et carne ortus fuerit diversus color, sive pustula, aut quasi lucens quippiam, id est, plaga lepræ, adducetur ad Aaron sacerdotem, vel ad unum quemlibet filiorum ejus.
Levi DRC 13:3  And if he see the leprosy in his skin, and the hair turned white and the place where the leprosy appears lower than the skin and the rest of the flesh: it is the stroke of the leprosy, and upon his judgment he shall be separated.
Levi KJV 13:3  And the priest shall look on the plague in the skin of the flesh: and when the hair in the plague is turned white, and the plague in sight be deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is a plague of leprosy: and the priest shall look on him, and pronounce him unclean.
Levi DRC 13:4  But if there be a shining whiteness in the skin, and not lower than the other flesh, and the hair be of the former colour, the priest shall shut him up seven days.
Levi KJV 13:4  If the bright spot be white in the skin of his flesh, and in sight be not deeper than the skin, and the hair thereof be not turned white; then the priest shall shut up him that hath the plague seven days:
Levi VulgClem 13:4  Sin autem lucens candor fuerit in cute, nec humilior carne reliqua, et pili coloris pristini, recludet eum sacerdos septem diebus :
Levi DRC 13:5  And the seventh day he shall look on him: and if the leprosy be grown no farther, and hath not spread itself in the skin, he shall shut him up again other seven days.
Levi KJV 13:5  And the priest shall look on him the seventh day: and, behold, if the plague in his sight be at a stay, and the plague spread not in the skin; then the priest shall shut him up seven days more:
Levi VulgClem 13:5  et considerabit die septimo : et si quidem lepra ultra non creverit, nec transierit in cute priores terminos, rursum recludet eum septem diebus aliis.
Levi DRC 13:6  And on the seventh day, he shall look on him. If the leprosy be somewhat obscure, and not spread in the skin, he shall declare him clean, because it is but a scab: and the man shall wash his clothes, and shall be clean.
Levi KJV 13:6  And the priest shall look on him again the seventh day: and, behold, if the plague be somewhat dark, and the plague spread not in the skin, the priest shall pronounce him clean: it is but a scab: and he shall wash his clothes, and be clean.
Levi DRC 13:7  But, if the leprosy grow again, after he was seen by the priest and restored to cleanness, he shall be brought to him:
Levi KJV 13:7  But if the scab spread much abroad in the skin, after that he hath been seen of the priest for his cleansing, he shall be seen of the priest again:
Levi VulgClem 13:7  Quod si postquam a sacerdote visus est, et redditus munditiæ, iterum lepra creverit : adducetur ad eum,
Levi DRC 13:8  And shall be condemned of uncleanness.
Levi KJV 13:8  And if the priest see that, behold, the scab spreadeth in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a leprosy.
Levi VulgClem 13:8  et immunditiæ condemnabitur.
Levi DRC 13:9  If the stroke of the leprosy be in a man, he shall be brought to the priest:
Levi KJV 13:9  When the plague of leprosy is in a man, then he shall be brought unto the priest;
Levi DRC 13:10  And he shall view him. And when there shall be a white colour in the skin, and it shall have changed the look of the hair, and the living flesh itself shall appear:
Levi KJV 13:10  And the priest shall see him: and, behold, if the rising be white in the skin, and it have turned the hair white, and there be quick raw flesh in the rising;
Levi VulgClem 13:10  et videbit eum. Cumque color albus in cute fuerit, et capillorum mutaverit aspectum, ipsa quoque caro viva apparuerit :
Levi DRC 13:11  It shall be judged an inveterate leprosy, and grown into the skin. The priest therefore shall declare him unclean: and shall not shut him up, because he is evidently unclean.
Levi KJV 13:11  It is an old leprosy in the skin of his flesh, and the priest shall pronounce him unclean, and shall not shut him up: for he is unclean.
Levi DRC 13:12  But if the leprosy spring out running about in the skin, and cover all the skin from the head to the feet, whatsoever falleth under the sight of the eyes:
Levi KJV 13:12  And if a leprosy break out abroad in the skin, and the leprosy cover all the skin of him that hath the plague from his head even to his foot, wheresoever the priest looketh;
Levi VulgClem 13:12  Sin autem effloruerit discurrens lepra in cute, et operuerit omnem cutem a capite usque ad pedes, quidquid sub aspectum oculorum cadit,
Levi DRC 13:13  The priest shall view him, and shall judge that the leprosy which he has is very clean: because it is all turned into whiteness, and therefore the man shall be clean.
Levi KJV 13:13  Then the priest shall consider: and, behold, if the leprosy have covered all his flesh, he shall pronounce him clean that hath the plague: it is all turned white: he is clean.
Levi DRC 13:14  But when the live flesh shall appear in him:
Levi KJV 13:14  But when raw flesh appeareth in him, he shall be unclean.
Levi VulgClem 13:14  Quando vero caro vivens in eo apparuerit,
Levi DRC 13:15  Then by the judgment of the priest he shall be defiled, and shall be reckoned among the unclean. For live flesh, if it be spotted with leprosy, is unclean.
Levi KJV 13:15  And the priest shall see the raw flesh, and pronounce him to be unclean: for the raw flesh is unclean: it is a leprosy.
Levi DRC 13:16  And if again it be turned into whiteness, and cover all the man:
Levi KJV 13:16  Or if the raw flesh turn again, and be changed unto white, he shall come unto the priest;
Levi DRC 13:17  The priest shall view him, and shall judge him to be clean.
Levi KJV 13:17  And the priest shall see him: and, behold, if the plague be turned into white; then the priest shall pronounce him clean that hath the plague: he is clean.
Levi DRC 13:18  When also there has been an ulcer in the flesh and the skin, and it has been healed:
Levi KJV 13:18  The flesh also, in which, even in the skin thereof, was a boil, and is healed,
Levi DRC 13:19  And in the place of the ulcer, there appeareth a white scar, or somewhat red, the man shall be brought to the priest.
Levi KJV 13:19  And in the place of the boil there be a white rising, or a bright spot, white, and somewhat reddish, and it be shewed to the priest;
Levi VulgClem 13:19  et in loco ulceris cicatrix alba apparuerit, sive subrufa, adducetur homo ad sacerdotem.
Levi DRC 13:20  And when he shall see the place of the leprosy lower than the other flesh, and the hair turned white: he shall declare him unclean, for the plague of leprosy is broken out in the ulcer.
Levi KJV 13:20  And if, when the priest seeth it, behold, it be in sight lower than the skin, and the hair thereof be turned white; the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a plague of leprosy broken out of the boil.
Levi DRC 13:21  But if the hair be of the former colour, and the scar somewhat obscure, and be not lower than the flesh that is near it: he shall shut him up seven days.
Levi KJV 13:21  But if the priest look on it, and, behold, there be no white hairs therein, and if it be not lower than the skin, but be somewhat dark; then the priest shall shut him up seven days:
Levi VulgClem 13:21  Quod si pilus coloris est pristini, et cicatrix subobscura, et vicina carne non est humilior, recludet eum septem diebus :
Levi DRC 13:22  And if it spread, he shall judge him to have the leprosy:
Levi KJV 13:22  And if it spread much abroad in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a plague.
Levi VulgClem 13:22  et si quidem creverit, adjudicabit eum lepræ ;
Levi DRC 13:23  But if it stay in its place, it is but the scar of an ulcer: and the man shall be clean.
Levi KJV 13:23  But if the bright spot stay in his place, and spread not, it is a burning boil; and the priest shall pronounce him clean.
Levi DRC 13:24  The flesh also and skin that hath been burnt, and after it is healed hath a white or a red scar:
Levi KJV 13:24  Or if there be any flesh, in the skin whereof there is a hot burning, and the quick flesh that burneth have a white bright spot, somewhat reddish, or white;
Levi DRC 13:25  The priest shall view it, and if he see it turned white, and the place thereof is lower than the other skin: he shall declare him unclean, because the evil of leprosy is broken out in the scar.
Levi KJV 13:25  Then the priest shall look upon it: and, behold, if the hair in the bright spot be turned white, and it be in sight deeper than the skin; it is a leprosy broken out of the burning: wherefore the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is the plague of leprosy.
Levi VulgClem 13:25  considerabit eam sacerdos : et ecce versa est in alborem, et locus ejus reliqua cute est humilior, contaminabit eum, quia plaga lepræ in cicatrice orta est.
Levi DRC 13:26  But if the colour of the hair be not changed, nor the blemish lower than the other flesh, and the appearance of the leprosy be somewhat obscure: he shall shut him up seven days,
Levi KJV 13:26  But if the priest look on it, and, behold, there be no white hair in the bright spot, and it be no lower than the other skin, but be somewhat dark; then the priest shall shut him up seven days:
Levi VulgClem 13:26  Quod si pilorum color non fuerit immutatus, nec humilior plaga carne reliqua, et ipsa lepræ species fuerit subobscura, recludet eum septem diebus,
Levi DRC 13:27  And on the seventh day he shall view him. If the leprosy be grown farther in the skin, he shall declare him unclean.
Levi KJV 13:27  And the priest shall look upon him the seventh day: and if it be spread much abroad in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is the plague of leprosy.
Levi DRC 13:28  But if the whiteness stay in its place, and be not very clear, it is the sore of a burning: and therefore he shall be cleansed, because it is only the scar of a burning.
Levi KJV 13:28  And if the bright spot stay in his place, and spread not in the skin, but it be somewhat dark; it is a rising of the burning, and the priest shall pronounce him clean: for it is an inflammation of the burning.
Levi DRC 13:29  If the leprosy break out in the head or the beard of a man or woman, the priest shall see them,
Levi KJV 13:29  If a man or woman have a plague upon the head or the beard;
Levi VulgClem 13:29  Vir, sive mulier, in cujus capite vel barba germinaverit lepra, videbit eos sacerdos.
Levi DRC 13:30  And if the place be lower than the other flesh, and the hair yellow, and thinner than usual: he shall declare them unclean, because it is the leprosy of the head and the beard;
Levi KJV 13:30  Then the priest shall see the plague: and, behold, if it be in sight deeper than the skin; and there be in it a yellow thin hair; then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a dry scall, even a leprosy upon the head or beard.
Levi DRC 13:31  But if he perceive the place of the spot is equal with the flesh that is near it, and the hair black: he shall shut him up seven days,
Levi KJV 13:31  And if the priest look on the plague of the scall, and, behold, it be not in sight deeper than the skin, and that there is no black hair in it; then the priest shall shut up him that hath the plague of the scall seven days:
Levi VulgClem 13:31  Sin autem viderit locum maculæ æqualem vicinæ carni, et capillum nigrum : recludet eum septem diebus,
Levi DRC 13:32  And on the seventh day he shall look upon it. If the spot be not grown, and the hair keep its colour, and the place of the blemish be even with the other flesh:
Levi KJV 13:32  And in the seventh day the priest shall look on the plague: and, behold, if the scall spread not, and there be in it no yellow hair, and the scall be not in sight deeper than the skin;
Levi DRC 13:33  The man shall be shaven all but the place of the spot: and he shall be shut up other seven days.
Levi KJV 13:33  He shall be shaven, but the scall shall he not shave; and the priest shall shut up him that hath the scall seven days more:
Levi VulgClem 13:33  radetur homo absque loco maculæ, et includetur septem diebus aliis.
Levi DRC 13:34  If on the seventh day the evil seem to have stayed in its place, and not lower than the other flesh, he shall cleanse him: and his clothes being washed he shall be clean.
Levi KJV 13:34  And in the seventh day the priest shall look on the scall: and, behold, if the scall be not spread in the skin, nor be in sight deeper than the skin; then the priest shall pronounce him clean: and he shall wash his clothes, and be clean.
Levi VulgClem 13:34  Si die septimo visa fuerit stetisse plaga in loco suo, nec humilior carne reliqua, mundabit eum : lotisque vestibus suis, mundus erit.
Levi DRC 13:35  But if after his cleansing the spot spread again in the skin:
Levi KJV 13:35  But if the scall spread much in the skin after his cleansing;
Levi VulgClem 13:35  Sin autem post emundationem rursus creverit macula in cute,
Levi DRC 13:36  He shall seek no more whether the hair be turned yellow, because he is evidently unclean.
Levi KJV 13:36  Then the priest shall look on him: and, behold, if the scall be spread in the skin, the priest shall not seek for yellow hair; he is unclean.
Levi DRC 13:37  But if the spot be stayed, and the hair be black, let him know that the man is healed: and let him confidently pronounce him clean.
Levi KJV 13:37  But if the scall be in his sight at a stay, and that there is black hair grown up therein; the scall is healed, he is clean: and the priest shall pronounce him clean.
Levi DRC 13:38  If a whiteness appear in the skin of a man or a woman,
Levi KJV 13:38  If a man also or a woman have in the skin of their flesh bright spots, even white bright spots;
Levi VulgClem 13:38  Vir, sive mulier, in cujus cute candor apparuerit,
Levi DRC 13:39  The priest shall view them. If he find that a darkish whiteness shineth in the skin, let him know that it is not the leprosy, but a white blemish, and that the man is clean.
Levi KJV 13:39  Then the priest shall look: and, behold, if the bright spots in the skin of their flesh be darkish white; it is a freckled spot that groweth in the skin; he is clean.
Levi VulgClem 13:39  intuebitur eos sacerdos.
Levi DRC 13:40  The man whose hair falleth off from his head, he is bald and clean:
Levi KJV 13:40  And the man whose hair is fallen off his head, he is bald; yet is he clean.
Levi DRC 13:41  And if the hair fall from his forehead, he is bald before and clean.
Levi KJV 13:41  And he that hath his hair fallen off from the part of his head toward his face, he is forehead bald: yet is he clean.
Levi DRC 13:42  But if in the bald head or in the bald forehead there be risen a white or reddish colour:
Levi KJV 13:42  And if there be in the bald head, or bald forehead, a white reddish sore; it is a leprosy sprung up in his bald head, or his bald forehead.
Levi VulgClem 13:42  Sin autem in calvitio sive in recalvatione albus vel rufus color fuerit exortus,
Levi DRC 13:43  And the priest perceive this, he shall condemn him undoubtedly of leprosy which is risen in the bald part.
Levi KJV 13:43  Then the priest shall look upon it: and, behold, if the rising of the sore be white reddish in his bald head, or in his bald forehead, as the leprosy appeareth in the skin of the flesh;
Levi DRC 13:44  Now whosoever shall be defiled with the leprosy, and is separated by the judgment of the priest:
Levi KJV 13:44  He is a leprous man, he is unclean: the priest shall pronounce him utterly unclean; his plague is in his head.
Levi DRC 13:45  Shall have his clothes hanging loose, his head bare, his mouth covered with a cloth: and he shall cry out that he is defiled and unclean.
Levi KJV 13:45  And the leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean.
Levi VulgClem 13:45  habebit vestimenta dissuta, caput nudum, os veste contectum, contaminatum ac sordidum se clamabit.
Levi DRC 13:46  All the time that he is a leper and unclean he shall dwell alone without the camp.
Levi KJV 13:46  All the days wherein the plague shall be in him he shall be defiled; he is unclean: he shall dwell alone; without the camp shall his habitation be.
Levi DRC 13:47  A woollen or linen garment that shall have the leprosy
Levi KJV 13:47  The garment also that the plague of leprosy is in, whether it be a woollen garment, or a linen garment;
Levi VulgClem 13:47  Vestis lanea sive linea, quæ lepram habuerit,
Levi DRC 13:48  In the warp, and the woof: or skin, or whatsoever is made of a skin:
Levi KJV 13:48  Whether it be in the warp, or woof; of linen, or of woollen; whether in a skin, or in any thing made of skin;
Levi DRC 13:49  If it be infected with a white or red spot, it shall be accounted the leprosy, and shall be shewn to the priest.
Levi KJV 13:49  And if the plague be greenish or reddish in the garment, or in the skin, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin; it is a plague of leprosy, and shall be shewed unto the priest:
Levi VulgClem 13:49  si alba vel rufa macula fuerit infecta, lepra reputabitur, ostendeturque sacerdoti :
Levi DRC 13:50  And he shall look upon it and shall shut it up seven days.
Levi KJV 13:50  And the priest shall look upon the plague, and shut up it that hath the plague seven days:
Levi VulgClem 13:50  qui consideratam recludet septem diebus :
Levi DRC 13:51  And on the seventh day when he looketh on it again, if he find that it is grown, it is a fixed leprosy. He shall judge the garment unclean, and every thing wherein it shall be found.
Levi KJV 13:51  And he shall look on the plague on the seventh day: if the plague be spread in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in a skin, or in any work that is made of skin; the plague is a fretting leprosy; it is unclean.
Levi DRC 13:52  And therefore it shall be burnt with fire.
Levi KJV 13:52  He shall therefore burn that garment, whether warp or woof, in woollen or in linen, or any thing of skin, wherein the plague is: for it is a fretting leprosy; it shall be burnt in the fire.
Levi VulgClem 13:52  et idcirco comburetur flammis.
Levi DRC 13:53  But if he see that it is not grown,
Levi KJV 13:53  And if the priest shall look, and, behold, the plague be not spread in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin;
Levi DRC 13:54  He shall give orders, and they shall wash that part wherein the leprosy is: and he shall shut it up other seven days.
Levi KJV 13:54  Then the priest shall command that they wash the thing wherein the plague is, and he shall shut it up seven days more:
Levi VulgClem 13:54  præcipiet, et lavabunt id in quo lepra est, recludetque illud septem diebus aliis.
Levi DRC 13:55  And when he shall see that the former colour is not returned, nor yet the leprosy spread, he shall judge it unclean: and shall burn it with fire, for the leprosy has taken hold of the outside of the garment, or through the whole.
Levi KJV 13:55  And the priest shall look on the plague, after that it is washed: and, behold, if the plague have not changed his colour, and the plague be not spread; it is unclean; thou shalt burn it in the fire; it is fret inward, whether it be bare within or without.
Levi DRC 13:56  But if the place of the leprosy be somewhat dark, after the garment is washed, he shall tear it off, and divide it from that which is sound.
Levi KJV 13:56  And if the priest look, and, behold, the plague be somewhat dark after the washing of it; then he shall rend it out of the garment, or out of the skin, or out of the warp, or out of the woof:
Levi VulgClem 13:56  Sin autem obscurior fuerit locus lepræ, postquam vestis est lota, abrumpet eum, et a solido dividet.
Levi DRC 13:57  And if after this there appear in those places that before were without spot, a flying and wandering leprosy: it must be burnt with fire.
Levi KJV 13:57  And if it appear still in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin; it is a spreading plague: thou shalt burn that wherein the plague is with fire.
Levi VulgClem 13:57  Quod si ultra apparuerit in his locis, quæ prius immaculata erant, lepra volatilis et vaga, debet igne comburi.
Levi DRC 13:58  If it cease, he shall wash with water the parts that are pure, the second time: and they shall be clean.
Levi KJV 13:58  And the garment, either warp, or woof, or whatsoever thing of skin it be, which thou shalt wash, if the plague be departed from them, then it shall be washed the second time, and shall be clean.
Levi VulgClem 13:58  Si cessaverit, lavabit aqua ea, quæ pura sunt, secundo, et munda erunt.
Levi DRC 13:59  This is the law touching the leprosy of any woollen or linen garment, either in the warp or woof, or any thing of skins: how it ought to be cleaned, or pronounced unclean.
Levi KJV 13:59  This is the law of the plague of leprosy in a garment of woollen or linen, either in the warp, or woof, or any thing of skins, to pronounce it clean, or to pronounce it unclean.
