MARK
Chapter 9
Mark | RKJNT | 9:1 | And he said to them, Truly I say to you, That there are some of those who stand here, who shall not taste of death, until they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:2 | And after six days Jesus took with him Peter, and James, and John, and led them up a high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:3 | And his clothing became shining and exceedingly white; as no fuller on earth could whiten them.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:5 | And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Rabbi, it is good for us to be here: let us make three tabernacles; one for you, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:7 | And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:9 | And as they came down from the mountain, he commanded them that they should tell no man the things they had seen, until the Son of man should have risen from the dead.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:10 | And they kept that saying to themselves, questioning one with another what rising from the dead might mean.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:12 | And he answered them, Elijah truly comes first, and restores all things; and how is it written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be treated with contempt?
Mark | RKJNT | 9:13 | But I say to you, That Elijah has indeed come, and they have done to him whatever they pleased, as it is written of him.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:14 | And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes arguing with them.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:15 | And immediately all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly amazed, and ran to greet him.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:17 | And one of the multitude answered and said, Teacher, I have brought to you my son, who has a dumb spirit;
Mark | RKJNT | 9:18 | And whenever it seizes him, it tears him: and he foams, and gnashes his teeth, and becomes rigid: and I asked your disciples to cast it out; and they could not.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:19 | He answered him, and said, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I endure you? bring him to me.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:20 | And they brought him to him: and when he saw him, immediately the spirit tore him; and he fell on the ground, and rolled around foaming at the mouth.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:21 | And he asked his father, How long has this been happening to him? And he said, Since he was a child.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:22 | And often it has cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if you can do anything, have compassion on us, and help us.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:24 | And immediately the father of the child cried out, and said, Lord, I believe; help me overcome my unbelief.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:25 | When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying to him, You dumb and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and do not enter into him again.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:26 | And the spirit cried out, and threw him into severe convulsions, and came out of him: and he was like a corpse; so that many said, He is dead.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:28 | And when he came into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could we not cast it out?
Mark | RKJNT | 9:30 | And they departed from there, and passed through Galilee; and he would not have any man know about it,
Mark | RKJNT | 9:31 | For he taught his disciples, and said to them, The Son of man will be delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after he is killed, he shall rise on the third day.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:33 | And he came to Capernaum: and when he was in the house he asked them, What were you discussing among yourselves along the way?
Mark | RKJNT | 9:34 | But they kept quiet: for along the way they had discussed which of them was the greatest.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:35 | And he sat down, and called the twelve, and said to them, If any man desires to be first, he shall be last of all, and servant of all.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:36 | And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said to them,
Mark | RKJNT | 9:37 | Whoever shall receive one child such as this in my name, receives me: and whoever shall receive me, does not receive me, but him who sent me.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:38 | And John answered him, saying, Teacher, we saw someone casting out devils in your name, and we forbad him, because he does not follow us.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:39 | But Jesus said, Do not forbid him: for there is no man who shall do a miracle in my name, who can soon after speak evil of me.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:41 | For whoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because you belong to Christ, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:42 | And whoever shall offend one of these little ones who believe in me, it would be better for him that a millstone were hung about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.
Mark | RKJNT | 9:43 | And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off: it is better for you to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched:
Mark | RKJNT | 9:45 | And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off: it is better for you to enter life lame, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched:
Mark | RKJNT | 9:47 | And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out: it is better for you to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell:
