Chapter 24
Matt Godbey 24:1  Jesus having gone out departed from the temple, and His disciples came to Him to show Him the buildings of the temple.
Matt Godbey 24:2  And responding, He said to them, Do you not see all these? Truly, I say unto you, that stone may not be left here upon stone, which shall not be thrown down.
Matt Godbey 24:3  And He sitting upon the Mount of Olives; the disciples came to Him privately, saying, Tell us, when these things shall be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming and the end of the age?
Matt Godbey 24:4  And Jesus responding said to them, See, lest any one may deceive you.
Matt Godbey 24:5  For many will come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and they will deceive many.
Matt Godbey 24:6  And you will be about to hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that you are not disturbed: for it behooveth all these things to be, but the end is not yet.
Matt Godbey 24:7  For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines and earthquakes in divers places.
Matt Godbey 24:8  And all these things are the beginning of travails.
Matt Godbey 24:9  Then they will deliver you into tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations on account of my name,
Matt Godbey 24:10  and then many will be offended; and they will betray one another, and hate one another.
Matt Godbey 24:11  And many false prophets will arise and deceive many.
Matt Godbey 24:12  And because iniquity doth abound, the divine love of many will grow cold.
Matt Godbey 24:13  But the one persevering to the end, the same shall be saved.
Matt Godbey 24:14  And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world, for a testimony to all the nations; and then the end shall come.
Matt Godbey 24:15  Then when you may see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let him that readeth know),
Matt Godbey 24:16  then let those who are in Judea fly to the mountains:
Matt Godbey 24:17  and let him who is on the housetop not come down to take things out of his house:
Matt Godbey 24:18  and let not the one in the field turn back to take his garment.
Matt Godbey 24:19  But alas unto those who are in gestation and nursing in those days.
Matt Godbey 24:20  But pray that your flight may not be in the winter, nor on the Sabbath.
Matt Godbey 24:21  For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world even until now nor ever may be.
Matt Godbey 24:22  And if those days were not shortened, no life would be saved: but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.
Matt Godbey 24:23  Then if any one may say to you, Lo, here is Christ, or, there: believe him not:
Matt Godbey 24:24  for false Christs and false prophets will rise up, and give great signs and wonders; so as to deceive even the elect, if possible.
Matt Godbey 24:26  Therefore if they may say to you, Behold, He is in the desert; go not out: Behold, He is in the secret chambers; believe them not.
Matt Godbey 24:27  For as the lightning comes from the east, and shines even unto the west; so also shall the coming of the Son of man be.
Matt Godbey 24:28  For where the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.
Matt Godbey 24:29  And immediately, after the desolation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give her light, and the stars will fall from the heavens, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.
Matt Godbey 24:30  And then the sign of the Son of man will appear in the heaven: and all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and will see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and much glory.
Matt Godbey 24:31  And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet, and they will gather His elect out of the four winds, from the extremities of the heavens, unto the extremities of the same.
Matt Godbey 24:32  But learn the parable from the fig-tree: when her branch may now be tender, and she may grow out leaves, know that the summer is nigh.
Matt Godbey 24:33  So you also, when you may see all these things know that it is at the doors.
Matt Godbey 24:34  Truly I say unto you, This race may not pass away until all these things may be fulfilled.
Matt Godbey 24:35  Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words can not pass away.
Matt Godbey 24:36  Concerning that day or hour no one knows, neither the angels of the heavens, except my Father only.
Matt Godbey 24:37  But as were the days of Noah, so indeed shall be the coming of the Son of man.
Matt Godbey 24:38  For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day on which Noah entered into the ark,
Matt Godbey 24:39  and they did not know until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall be the coming of the Son of man.
Matt Godbey 24:40  Then two men shall be in the field; one is taken, and one is left.
Matt Godbey 24:41  Two women will be grinding at the mill; one is taken, and one is left.
Matt Godbey 24:42  Watch therefore: because you do not know on what day your Lord cometh.
Matt Godbey 24:43  But know this, that if the landlord knew at what watch the thief cometh, he would have watched, and would not have permitted his house to be broken into.
Matt Godbey 24:44  Therefore be ye also ready: because the Son of man cometh in an hour at which you do not think.
Matt Godbey 24:45  Then who is the faithful and wise servant, whom the lord placed over his household to give them their food in season?
Matt Godbey 24:46  Happy is that servant whom, his lord having come, will find so doing.
Matt Godbey 24:47  Truly I say unto you, that he will appoint him over all his possessions.
Matt Godbey 24:49  My lord delayeth; and may begin to smite his fellow-servants, and eat and drink with the drunken;
Matt Godbey 24:50  the lord of that servant will come in a day in which he does not expect, and an hour in which he does not know,
Matt Godbey 24:51  and he will cut him off, and will appoint his part with hypocrites: and there shall be weeping and gnashing of the teeth.
