2:1  And these are the sons of Israel: Ruben, Simeon, Levi, Juda, Issachar, and Zabulon,

2:2  Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Nephtali, Gad, and Aser.

2:3  The sons of Juda: Her, Onan and Sela. These three were born to him of the Chanaanitess the daughter of Sue. And Her the firstborn of Juda, was wicked in the sight of the Lord, and he slew him.

2:3  The sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah: which three were born unto him of the daughter of Shua the Canaanitess. And Er, the firstborn of Judah, was evil in the sight of the Lord; and he slew him.

2:4  And Thamar his daughter in law bore him Phares and Zara. So all the sons of Juda were five.

2:5  And the sons of Phares, were Hesron and Hamul.

2:6  And the sons also of Zare: Zamri, and Ethan, and Eman, and Chalchal, and Dara, five in all.

2:6  And the sons of Zerah; Zimri, and Ethan, and Heman, and Calcol, and Dara: five of them in all.

2:7  And the sons of Charmi: Achar, who troubled Israel, and sinned by the theft of the anathema.

2:7  Filii Charmi : Achar, qui turbavit Israël, et peccavit in furto anathematis.

2:7  And the sons of Carmi; Achar, the troubler of Israel, who transgressed in the thing accursed.

2:8  The sons of Ethan: Azarias,

2:8  And the sons of Ethan; Azariah.

2:9  And the sons of Hesron that were born to him: Jerameel, and Ram, and Calubi.

2:9  The sons also of Hezron, that were born unto him; Jerahmeel, and Ram, and Chelubai.

2:10  And Ram begot Aminadab, and Aminadab begot Nahasson, prince of the children of Juda.

2:10  And Ram begat Amminadab; and Amminadab begat Nahshon, prince of the children of Judah;

2:11  And Nahasson begot Salma, the father of Booz.

2:11  Nahasson quoque genuit Salma, de quo ortus est Booz.

2:11  And Nahshon begat Salma, and Salma begat Boaz,

2:12  And Booz begot Obed, and Obed begot Isai.

2:12  Booz vero genuit Obed, qui et ipse genuit Isai.

2:12  And Boaz begat Obed, and Obed begat Jesse,

2:13  And Isai begot Eliab his firstborn, the second Abinadab, the third Simmaa,

2:13  Isai autem genuit primogenitum Eliab, secundum Abinadab, tertium Simmaa,

2:13  And Jesse begat his firstborn Eliab, and Abinadab the second, and Shimma the third,

2:14  The fourth, Nathanael, the fifth Raddai,

2:14  Nethaneel the fourth, Raddai the fifth,

2:15  The sixth Asom, the seventh David.

2:16  And their sisters were Sarvia, and Abigail. The sons of Sarvia: Abisai, Joab, and Asael, three.

2:17  And Abigail bore Amasa, whose father was Jether the Ismahelite.

2:17  And Abigail bare Amasa: and the father of Amasa was Jether the Ishmeelite.

2:18  And Caleb the son of Hesron took a wife named Azuba, of whom he had Jerioth: and her sons were Jaser, and Sobab, and Ardon.

2:18  Caleb vero filius Hesron accepit uxorem nomine Azuba, de qua genuit Jerioth : fueruntque filii ejus Jaser, et Sobab, et Ardon.

2:18  And Caleb the son of Hezron begat children of Azubah his wife, and of Jerioth: her sons are these; Jesher, and Shobab, and Ardon.

2:19  And when Azuba was dead, Caleb took to wife Ephrata: who bore him Hur.

2:19  Cumque mortua fuisset Azuba, accepit uxorem Caleb Ephratha, quæ peperit ei Hur.

2:19  And when Azubah was dead, Caleb took unto him Ephrath, which bare him Hur.

2:20  And Hur begot Uri: and Uri begot Bezeleel.

2:20  Porro Hur genuit Uri, et Uri genuit Bezeleel.

2:20  And Hur begat Uri, and Uri begat Bezaleel.

2:21  And afterwards Hesron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Galaad, and took her to wife when he was threescore years old: and she bore him Segub.

2:21  Post hæc ingressus est Hesron ad filiam Machir patris Galaad, et accepit eam cum esset annorum sexaginta : quæ peperit ei Segub.

2:21  And afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead, whom he married when he was threescore years old; and she bare him Segub.

2:22  And Segub begot Jair, and he had three and twenty cities in the land of Galaad.

2:22  Sed et Segub genuit Jair, et possedit viginti tres civitates in terra Galaad.

2:22  And Segub begat Jair, who had three and twenty cities in the land of Gilead.

2:23  And he took Gessur, and Aram the towns of Jair, and Canath, and the villages thereof, threescore cities. All these, the sons of Machir father of Galaad.

2:23  Cepitque Gessur et Aram oppida Jair, et Canath, et viculos ejus sexaginta civitatum : omnes isti filii Machir patris Galaad.

2:23  And he took Geshur, and Aram, with the towns of Jair, from them, with Kenath, and the towns thereof, even threescore cities. All these belonged to the sons of Machir the father of Gilead.

2:24  And when Hesron was dead, Caleb went in to Ephrata. Hesron also had to wife Abia who bore him Ashur the father of Thecua.

2:24  Cum autem mortuus esset Hesron, ingressus est Caleb ad Ephratha. Habuit quoque Hesron uxorem Abia, quæ peperit ei Assur patrem Thecuæ.

2:24  And after that Hezron was dead in Caleb–ephratah, then Abiah Hezron’s wife bare him Ashur the father of Tekoa.

2:25  And the sons of Jerameel the firstborn of Hesron, were Ram his firstborn, and Buna, and Aram, and Asom, and Achia.

2:25  Nati sunt autem filii Jerameel primogeniti Hesron, Ram primogenitus ejus, et Buna, et Aram, et Asom, et Achia.

2:25  And the sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron were, Ram the firstborn, and Bunah, and Oren, and Ozem, and Ahijah.

2:26  And Jerameel married another wife, named Atara, who was the mother of Onam.

2:26  Duxit quoque uxorem alteram Jerameel, nomine Atara, quæ fuit mater Onam.

2:26  Jerahmeel had also another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam.

2:27  And the sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerameel, were Moos, Jamin, and Achar.

2:27  Sed et filii Ram primogeniti Jerameel fuerunt Moos, Jamin, et Achar.

2:27  And the sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel were, Maaz, and Jamin, and Eker.

2:28  And Onam had sons Semei, and Jada. And the sons of Semei: Nadab, and Abisur.

2:28  Onam autem habuit filios Semei et Jada. Filii autem Semei : Nadab et Abisur.

2:28  And the sons of Onam were, Shammai, and Jada. And the sons of Shammai; Nadab, and Abishur.

2:29  And the name of Abisur's wife was Abihail, who bore him Ahobban, and Molid.

2:29  Nomen vero uxoris Abisur, Abihail, quæ peperit ei Ahobban et Molid.

2:29  And the name of the wife of Abishur was Abihail, and she bare him Ahban, and Molid.

2:30  And the sons of Nadab were Saled and Apphaim. And Saled died without children.

2:30  Filii autem Nadab fuerunt Saled et Apphaim. Mortuus est autem Saled absque liberis.

2:30  And the sons of Nadab; Seled, and Appaim: but Seled died without children.

2:31  But the son of Apphaim was Jesi: and Jesi begot Sesan. And Sesan begot Oholai.

2:31  Filius vero Apphaim, Jesi : qui Jesi genuit Sesan. Porro Sesan genuit Oholai.

2:31  And the sons of Appaim; Ishi. And the sons of Ishi; Sheshan. And the children of Sheshan; Ahlai.

2:32  And the sons of Jada the brother of Semei: Jether and Jonathan. And Jether also died without children.

2:32  Filii autem Jada fratris Semei : Jether, et Jonathan. Sed et Jether mortuus est absque liberis.

2:32  And the sons of Jada the brother of Shammai; Jether, and Jonathan: and Jether died without children.

2:33  But Jonathan begot Phaleth, and Ziza. These were the sons of Jerameel.

2:33  Porro Jonathan genuit Phaleth, et Ziza. Isti fuerunt filii Jerameel.

2:33  And the sons of Jonathan; Peleth, and Zaza. These were the sons of Jerahmeel.

2:34  And Sesan had no sons, but daughters and a servant an Egyptian, named Jeraa.

2:34  Sesan autem non habuit filios, sed filias : et servum ægyptium nomine Jeraa.

2:34  Now Sheshan had no sons, but daughters. And Sheshan had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Jarha.

2:35  And he gave him his daughter to wife: and she bore him Ethei.

2:35  Deditque ei filiam suam uxorem : quæ peperit ei Ethei.

2:35  And Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his servant to wife; and she bare him Attai.

2:36  And Ethei begot Nathan, and Nathan begot Zabad.

2:36  Ethei autem genuit Nathan, et Nathan genuit Zabad.

2:36  And Attai begat Nathan, and Nathan begat Zabad,

2:37  And Zabad begot Ophlal, and Ophlal begot Obed.

2:37  Zabad quoque genuit Ophlal, et Ophlal genuit Obed.

2:37  And Zabad begat Ephlal, and Ephlal begat Obed,

2:38  Obed begot Jehu, Jehu begot Azarias.

2:38  Obed genuit Jehu, Jehu genuit Azariam,

2:38  And Obed begat Jehu, and Jehu begat Azariah,

2:39  Azarias begot Helles, and Helles begot Elasa.

2:39  Azarias genuit Helles, et Helles genuit Elasa.

2:39  And Azariah begat Helez, and Helez begat Eleasah,

2:40  Elasa begot Sisamoi, Sisamoi begot Sellum,

2:40  Elasa genuit Sisamoi, Sisamoi genuit Sellum,

2:40  And Eleasah begat Sisamai, and Sisamai begat Shallum,

2:41  Sellum begot Icamia, and Icamia begot Elisama.

2:41  Sellum genuit Icamiam, Icamia autem genuit Elisama.

2:41  And Shallum begat Jekamiah, and Jekamiah begat Elishama.

2:42  Now the sons of Caleb the brother of Jerameel were Mesa his firstborn, who was the father of Siph: and the sons of Maresa father of Hebron.

2:42  Filii autem Caleb fratris Jerameel : Mesa primogenitus ejus ; ipse est pater Ziph : et filii Maresa patris Hebron.

2:42  Now the sons of Caleb the brother of Jerahmeel were, Mesha his firstborn, which was the father of Ziph; and the sons of Mareshah the father of Hebron.

2:43  And the sons of Hebron, Core, and Thaphua, and Recem, and Samma.

2:43  Porro filii Hebron, Core, et Taphua, et Recem, et Samma.

2:43  And the sons of Hebron; Korah, and Tappuah, and Rekem, and Shema.

2:44  And Samma begot Raham, the father of Jercaam, and Recem begot Sammai.

2:44  Samma autem genuit Raham, patrem Jercaam, et Recem genuit Sammai.

2:44  And Shema begat Raham, the father of Jorkoam: and Rekem begat Shammai.

2:45  The son of Sammai, Maon: and Maon the father of Bethsur.

2:45  Filius Sammai, Maon : et Maon pater Bethsur.

2:45  And the son of Shammai was Maon: and Maon was the father of Beth–zur.

2:46  And Epha the concubine of Caleb bore Haran, and Mosa, and Gezez. And Haran begot Gezez.

2:46  Epha autem concubina Caleb peperit Haran, et Mosa, et Gezez. Porro Haran genuit Gezez.

2:46  And Ephah, Caleb’s concubine, bare Haran, and Moza, and Gazez: and Haran begat Gazez.

2:47  And the sons of Jahaddai, Rogom, and Joathan, and Gesan, and Phalet, and Epha, and Saaph.

2:47  Filii autem Jahaddai, Regom, et Joathan, et Gesan, et Phalet, et Epha, et Saaph.

2:47  And the sons of Jahdai; Regem, and Jotham, and Geshan, and Pelet, and Ephah, and Shaaph.

2:48  And Maacha the concubine of Caleb bore Saber, and Tharana.

2:48  Concubina Caleb Maacha, peperit Saber, et Tharana.

2:48  Maachah, Caleb’s concubine, bare Sheber, and Tirhanah.

2:49  And Saaph the father of Madmena begot Sue the father of Machbena, and the father of Gabaa. And the daughter of Caleb was Achsa.

2:49  Genuit autem Saaph pater Madmena Sue, patrem Machbena et patrem Gabaa. Filia vero Caleb fuit Achsa.

2:49  She bare also Shaaph the father of Madmannah, Sheva the father of Machbenah, and the father of Gibea: and the daughter of Caleb was Achsah.

2:50  These were the sons of Caleb, the son of Hur the firstborn of Ephrata, Sobal the father of Cariathiarim.

2:50  Hi erant filii Caleb, filii Hur primogeniti Ephratha, Sobal pater Cariathiarim.

2:50  These were the sons of Caleb the son of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratah; Shobal the father of Kirjath–jearim,

2:51  Salma the father of Bethlehem, Hariph the father of Bethgader.

2:51  Salma pater Bethlehem, Hariph pater Bethgader.

2:51  Salma the father of Beth–lehem, Hareph the father of Beth–gader.

2:52  And Sobal the father of Cariathiarim had sons: he that saw half of the places of rest.

2:52  Fuerunt autem filii Sobal patris Cariathiarim, qui videbat dimidium requietionum.

2:52  And Shobal the father of Kirjath–jearim had sons; Haroeh, and half of the Manahethites.

2:53  And of the kindred of Cariathiarim, the Jethrites, and Aphuthites, and Semathites, and Maserites. Of them came the Saraites, and Esthaolites.

2:53  Et de cognatione Cariathiarim, Jethrei, et Aphuthei, et Semathei, et Maserei. Ex his egressi sunt Saraitæ, et Esthaolitæ.

2:53  And the families of Kirjath–jearim; the Ithrites, and the Puhites, and the Shumathites, and the Mishraites; of them came the Zareathites, and the Eshtaulites.

2:54  The sons of Salma, Bethlehem, and Netophathi, the crowns of the house of Joab, and half of the place of rest of Sarai.

2:54  Filii Salma, Bethlehem, et Netophathi, coronæ domus Joab, et dimidium requietionis Sarai :

2:54  The sons of Salma; Beth–lehem, and the Netophathites, Ataroth, the house of Joab, and half of the Manahethites, the Zorites.

2:55  And the families of the scribes that dwell in Jabes, singing and making melody, and abiding in tents. These are the Cinites, who came of Calor (Chamath) father of the house of Rechab.

2:55  cognationes quoque scribarum habitantium in Jabes, canentes atque resonantes, et in tabernaculis commorantes. Hi sunt Cinæi, qui venerunt de Calore patris domus Rechab.

2:55  And the families of the scribes which dwelt at Jabez; the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and Suchathites. These are the Kenites that came of Hemath, the father of the house of Rechab.
