3:1  King Nabuchodonosor made a statue of gold, of sixty cubits high, and six cubits broad, and he set it up in the plain of Dura, of the province of Babylon.

3:3  Tehdy se shromáždili satrapové, zemští správcové a místodržitelé, poradci, správcové pokladu, soudcové, vysocí úředníci a všichni zmocněnci nad krajinami k posvěcení sochy, kterou král Nebúkadnesar postavil. Stáli proti soše, kterou postavil Nebúkadnesar.

3:12  There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

3:13  Tehdy Nebúkadnesar, rozlícen a rozhořčen, rozkázal přivést Šadraka, Méšaka a Abed-nega. Tito muži byli hned přivedeni před krále.

3:15  Jestlipak jste teď připraveni, že v čase, kdy uslyšíte hrát roh, píšťalu, citeru, lyru, cymbál, orchestr ⌈či jiný hudební nástroj,⌉ padnete a budete se klanět té soše, kterou jsem vyrobil? Ale jestli se klanět nebudete, v tu hodinu budete uvrženi doprostřed rozpálené ohnivé pece. A kdo je bůh, že by vás vysvobodil z mé ruky?

3:26  A přistoupiv Nabuchodonozor k čelisti peci ohnivé rozpálené, mluvil a řekl: Sidrachu, Mizachu a Abdenágo, služebníci Boha nejvyššího, vyjděte a poďte sem. I vyšli Sidrach, Mizach a Abdenágo z prostředku ohně.

3:27  Shromáždivše se pak knížata, vývodové a vůdcové a hejtmané královští, hleděli na ty muže, an žádné moci neměl oheň při tělích jejich, ani vlas hlavy jejich nepřiškvrkl, ani plášťové jejich se nezměnili, aniž co ohněm páchli.

3:27  And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counselors, being assembled, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was a hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor had the smell of fire passed upon them.

3:28  Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

3:28  Nebúkadnesar zvolal: „Požehnán buď Bůh Šadrakův, Méšakův a Abed-negův, který poslal svého anděla a vysvobodil své služebníky, kteří na něj spoléhali. Přestoupili královo slovo a vydali svá těla, aby nemuseli vzdát poctu a klanět se nějakému jinému bohu než bohu svému.

3:28  Nabukadnezar tehdy prohlásil: „Požehnán buď Bůh Šadrachův, Mešachův a Abednegův, jenž poslal svého anděla a zachránil své služebníky, kteří se na něj spolehli! Vzepřeli se dokonce i královskému rozkazu a raději by položili život, než aby sloužili a klaněli se jinému bohu, než je jejich Bůh.

3:28  Nebúkadnesar nato prohlásil: Požehnán bůh Šadrakův, Méšakův i Abed–negův, jenž poslal svého anděla a vysvobodil své otroky, kteří se na něho spolehli. I královské slovo porušili a svá těla oddali tomu, že nebudou žádného boha uctívat a nebudou se klanět nikomu vyjma boha svého.

3:28  I mluvil Nabuchodonozor a řekl: Požehnaný Bůh jejich, totiž Sidrachův, Mizachův a Abdenágův, kterýž poslal anděla svého, a vytrhl služebníky své, kteříž doufali v něho, až i rozkazu královského neuposlechli, ale těla svá vydali, aby nesloužili a neklaněli se žádnému bohu, kromě Bohu svému.

3:29  Vydávám rozkaz: Kdokoli z lidí kterékoli národnosti a jazyka by řekl něco proti Bohu Šadrakovu, Méšakovu a Abed-negovu, ať je rozsekán na kusy a jeho dům ať je učiněn hnojištěm, neboť není jiného Boha, který by mohl vyprostit jako tento Bůh.“

3:29  Proto nařizuji lidem všech národů a jazyků: Kdokoli by se rouhal Bohu Šadrachovu, Mešachovu a Abednegovu, bude rozčtvrcen a jeho dům obrácen v smetiště. Žádný jiný Bůh přece nedokáže zachránit jako tento!“

3:29  A tak mnou bude vydáno nařízení každému lidu, národu i jazyku, že kdo by lehkovážně mluvil o bohu Šadrakově, Méšakově i Abed–negově, aby byl rozčtvrcen a z jeho domu se stala hromada sutin, protože není jiného boha, jenž by dokázal takto zachraňovat.

3:29  A protož toto já přikazuji, aby každý ze všelikého lidu, národu a jazyku, kdož by koli co rouhavého řekl proti Bohu Sidrachovu, Mizachovu a Abdenágovu, na kusy rozsekán byl, a dům jeho v záchod obrácen, proto že není Boha jiného, kterýž by mohl vytrhovati, jako tento.

3:33  And now we cannot open our mouths: we are become a shame, and a reproach to thy servants, and to them that worship thee.

3:33  Jak veliká jsou jeho znamení, jak mocné jsou jeho divy! Jeho království je království věčné, jeho vladařská moc po všechna pokolení.

3:47  And the flame mounted up above the furnace nine and forth cubits:

3:49  But the angel of the Lord went down with Azarias and his companions into the furnace: and he drove the flame of the fire out of the furnace,

3:50  And made the midst of the furnace like the blowing of a wind bringing dew, and the fire touched them not at all, nor troubled them, nor did them any harm.

3:51  Then these three, as with one mouth, praised and glorified and blessed God, in the furnace, saying:

3:92  He answered, and said: Behold, I see four men loose, and walking in the midst of the fire, and there is no hurt in them, and the form of the fourth is like the son of God.

3:92  Respondit, et ait : Ecce ego video quatuor viros solutos, et ambulantes in medio ignis, et nihil corruptionis in eis est, et species quarti similis filio Dei.

3:93  Then Nabuchodonosor came to the door of the burning fiery furnace, and said: Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, ye servants of the most high God, go ye forth, and come. And immediately Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, went out from the midst of the fire.

3:93  Tunc accessit Nabuchodonosor ad ostium fornacis ignis ardentis, et ait : Sidrach, Misach, et Abdenago, servi Dei excelsi, egredimini, et venite. Statimque egressi sunt Sidrach, Misach, et Abdenago de medio ignis.

3:94  And the nobles, and the magistrates, and the judges, and the great men of the king, being gathered together, considered these men, that the fire had no power on their bodies, and that not a hair of their head had been singed, nor their garments altered, nor the smell of the fire had passed on them.

3:95  Then Nabuchodonosor breaking forth, said: Blessed be the God of them, to wit, of Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that believed in him: and they changed the king's word, and delivered up their bodies, that they might not serve nor adore any god except their own God.

3:96  By me, therefore, this decree is made: That every people, tribe, and tongue, which shall speak blasphemy against the God of Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, shall be destroyed, and their houses laid waste: for there is no other God that can save in this manner.
