6:1  The sons of Levi were Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

6:2  And the sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

6:3  And the children of Amram were Aaron, Moses, and Miriam. And the sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

6:4  Eleazar begot Phinehas, Phinehas begot Abishua;

6:5  Abishua begot Bukki, and Bukki begot Uzzi;

6:6  Uzzi begot Zerahiah, Zerahiah begot Meraioth;

6:7  Meraioth begot Amariah, and Amariah begot Ahitub;

6:8  Ahitub begot Zadok, and Zadok begot Ahimaaz;

6:9  Ahimaaz begot Azariah, and Azariah begot Johanan;

6:10  Johanan begot Azariah (he ministered as priest in the house which Solomon built in Jerusalem);

6:11  Azariah begot Amariah, and Amariah begot Ahitub;

6:12  Ahitub begot Zadok, and Zadok begot Shallum;

6:13  Shallum begot Hilkiah, and Hilkiah begot Azariah;

6:14  Azariah begot Seraiah, and Seraiah begot Jehozadak.

6:15  And Jehozadak went into captivity with Judah and Jerusalem under Nebuchadnezzar.

6:16  The sons of Levi were Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

6:17  And these are the names of the sons of Gershon: Libni, and Shimei.

6:18  The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

6:19  The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi: and these were the families of Levi, according to their families.

6:20  Of Gershon were Libni his son, Jahath his son, Zimmah his son,

6:21  Joah his son, Iddo his son, Zerah his son, and Jeatherai his son.

6:22  The sons of Kohath were Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,

6:23  Elkanah his son, Ebiasaph his son, Assir his son,

6:24  Tahath his son, Uriel his son, Uzziah his son, and Shaul his son.

6:25  And the sons of Elkanah were Amasai and Ahimoth.

6:26  As for Elkanah, his sons were Zophai, Nahath his son,

6:27  Eliab his son, Jeroham his son, and Elkanah his son.

6:28  The sons of Samuel were Joelthe firstborn, and Abijah.

6:29  The sons of Merari were Mahli, Libni his son, Shimei his son, Uzzah his son;

6:30  Shimea his son, Haggiah his son, and Asaiah his son.

6:31  And these were the men whom David set over the service of the singers in the house of the Lord when the ark was at rest.

6:32  And they ministered in front of the tabernacle of witness, playing on instruments, until Solomon built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem; and they stood according to their order for their services.

6:33  And these were the men that stood, and their sons, of the sons of Kohath: Heman the psalm singer, son of Joel, the son of Samuel,

6:34  the son of Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Eliel, the son of Toah,

6:35  the son of Zuph, the son of Elkanah, the son of Mahath, the son of Amasai,

6:36  the son of Elkanah, the son of Joel, the son of Azariah, the son of Zephaniah,

6:37  the son of Tahath, the son of Assir, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah,

6:38  the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, the son of Israel.

6:39  And his brother Asaph, who stood at his right hand; Asaph the son of Berachiah, the son of Shimea,

6:40  the son of Michael, the son of Baaseiah, the son of Malchijah,

6:41  the son of Ethni, the son of Zerah,

6:42  the son of Adaiah, the son of Ethan, the son of Zimmah, the son of Shimei,

6:43  the son of Jahath, the son of Gershon, the son of Levi.

6:44  And the sons of Merari their brethren on the left hand were Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch,

6:45  the son of Hashabiah,

6:46  the son of Amzi, the son of Bani, the son of Shamer,

6:47  the son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.

6:48  And their brethren according to the houses of their fathers, were the Levites who were appointed to all the work of ministration of the tabernacle of the house of God.

6:49  And Aaron and his sons were to burn incense on the altar of whole burnt offerings, and on the altar of incense, for all the ministry in the Holy of Holies, and to make atonement for Israel, according to all things that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded.

6:50  And these were the sons of Aaron: Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son,

6:51  Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son,

6:52  Meraioth his son, Amarih his son, Ahitub his son,

6:53  Zadok his son, and Ahimaaz his son.

6:54  And these are their residences in their villages, in their coasts, to the sons of Aaron, to their family the Kohathites; for they had the lot.

6:55  And they gave them Hebron in the land of Judah, and its suburbs round about it.

6:56  But the fields of the city, and its villages, they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh.

6:57  And to the sons of Aaron they gave the cities of refuge, even Hebron, and Libnah and her suburbs round about, Selna and her suburbs, Eshtemoa and her suburbs,

6:58  Jethar and her suburbs, Debir and her suburbs,

6:59  Ashan and her suburbs, and Beth Shemesh and her suburbs.

6:60  And of the tribe of Benjamin: Geba and her suburbs, Alemeth and her suburbs, and Anathoth and her suburbs. All their cities were thirteen cities according to their families.

6:61  And to the sons of Kohath that were left of their families, there were given out of the tribe, namely, out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, by lot, ten cities.

6:62  And to the sons of Gershon according to their families there were given thirteen cities of the tribe of Issachar, of the tribe of Asher, of the tribe of Naphtali, and of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan.

6:63  And to the sons of Merari according to their families there were given, by lot, twelve cities of the tribe of Reuben, of the tribe of Gad, and of the tribe of Zebulun.

6:64  So the children of Israel gave to the Levites the cities and their suburbs.

6:65  And they gave by lot out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, these cities which they call by name.

6:66  And to the members of the families of the sons of Kohath there were also given the cities of their borders out of the tribe of Ephraim.

6:67  And they gave them the cities of refuge, Shechem and her suburbs in Mount Ephraim, Gezer and her suburbs,

6:68  Jokmeam and her suburbs, Beth Horon and her suburbs,

6:69  Aijalon and her suburbs, and Gath Rimmon and her suburbs.

6:70  And of the half-tribe of Manasseh: Aner and her suburbs, and Bileam and her suburbs, to the sons of Kohath that were left, according to each family.

6:71  To the sons of Gershon from the families of the half-tribe of Manasseh they gave Golan of Bashan and her suburbs, and Ashtaroth and her suburbs.

6:72  And out of the tribe of Issachar: Kedesh and her suburbs, Daberath and her suburbs,

6:73  Ramoth and Anem and their suburbs.

6:74  And of the tribe of Asher: Mashal and her suburbs, Abdon and her suburbs,

6:75  Hukok and her suburbs, and Rehob and her suburbs.

6:76  And of the tribe of Naphtali: Kedesh in Galilee and her suburbs, Hammon and her suburbs, and Kirjathaim and her suburbs.

6:77  To the sons of Merari that were left, they gave out of the tribe of Zebulun: Rimmon and her suburbs, and Tabor and her suburbs.

6:78  And beyond the Jordan, Jericho west of the Jordan, they gave out of the tribe of Reuben: Bezer in the wilderness and her suburbs, Jahzah and her suburbs,

6:79  Kedemoth and her suburbs, and Mephaath and her suburbs.

6:80  Out of the tribe of Gad: Ramoth Gilead and her suburbs, Mahanaim and her suburbs,

6:81  Heshbon and her suburbs, and Jazer and her suburbs.
