Colo DRC 1:1  Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, and Timothy, a brother:
Colo VulgClem 1:1  Paulus Apostolus Jesu Christi per voluntatem Dei, et Timotheus frater :
Colo KJV 1:1  Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother,
Colo DRC 1:2  To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ Jesus who are at Colossa.
Colo KJV 1:2  To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Colo DRC 1:3  Grace be to you and peace, from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you.
Colo KJV 1:3  We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
Colo DRC 1:4  Hearing your faith in Christ Jesus and the love which you have towards all the saints.
Colo VulgClem 1:4  audientes fidem vestram in Christo Jesu, et dilectionem quam habetis in sanctos omnes
Colo KJV 1:4  Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
Colo DRC 1:5  For the hope that is laid up for you in heaven, which you have heard in the word of the truth of the gospel,
Colo VulgClem 1:5  propter spem, quæ reposita est vobis in cælis : quam audistis in verbo veritatis Evangelii :
Colo KJV 1:5  For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
Colo DRC 1:6  Which is come unto you, as also it is in the whole world and bringeth forth fruit and groweth, even as it doth in you, since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth.
Colo KJV 1:6  Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:
Colo DRC 1:7  As you learned of Epaphras, our most beloved fellow servant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ Jesus;
Colo KJV 1:7  As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;
Colo DRC 1:8  Who also hath manifested your love in the spirit.
Colo KJV 1:8  Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.
Colo DRC 1:9  Therefore we also, from the day that we heard it, cease not to pray for you and to beg that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding:
Colo VulgClem 1:9  Ideo et nos ex qua die audivimus, non cessamus pro vobis orantes, et postulantes ut impleamini agnitione voluntatis ejus, in omni sapientia et intellectu spiritali :
Colo KJV 1:9  For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
Colo DRC 1:10  That you may walk worthy of God, in all things pleasing; being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God:
Colo VulgClem 1:10  ut ambuletis digne Deo per omnia placentes : in omni opere bono fructificantes, et crescentes in scientia Dei :
Colo KJV 1:10  That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
Colo DRC 1:11  Strengthened with all might according to the power of his glory, in all patience and longsuffering with joy,
Colo VulgClem 1:11  in omni virtute confortati secundum potentiam claritatis ejus, in omni patientia et longanimitate cum gaudio,
Colo KJV 1:11  Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
Colo DRC 1:12  Giving thanks to God the Father, who hath made us worthy to be partakers of the lot of the saints in light:
Colo VulgClem 1:12  gratias agentes Deo Patri, qui dignos nos fecit in partem sortis sanctorum in lumine :
Colo KJV 1:12  Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
Colo DRC 1:13  Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness and hath translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love,
Colo KJV 1:13  Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
Colo DRC 1:14  In whom we have redemption through his blood, the remission of sins:
Colo VulgClem 1:14  in quo habemus redemptionem per sanguinem ejus, remissionem peccatorum :
Colo KJV 1:14  In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Colo DRC 1:15  Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Colo VulgClem 1:15  qui est imago Dei invisibilis, primogenitus omnis creaturæ :
Colo KJV 1:15  Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Colo DRC 1:16  For in him were all things created in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominations, or principalities, or powers. All things were created by him and in him.
Colo KJV 1:16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Colo DRC 1:17  And he is before all: and by him all things consist.
Colo KJV 1:17  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Colo DRC 1:18  And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things he may hold the primacy:
Colo VulgClem 1:18  Et ipse est caput corporis Ecclesiæ, qui est principium, primogenitus ex mortuis : ut sit in omnibus ipse primatum tenens :
Colo KJV 1:18  And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
Colo DRC 1:19  Because in him, it hath well pleased the Father that all fulness should dwell:
Colo VulgClem 1:19  quia in ipso complacuit, omnem plenitudinem inhabitare :
Colo KJV 1:19  For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
Colo DRC 1:20  And through him to reconcile all things unto himself, making peace through the blood of his cross, both as to the things that are on earth and the things that are in heaven.
Colo KJV 1:20  And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
Colo DRC 1:21  And you, whereas you were some time alienated and enemies in mind in evil works:
Colo VulgClem 1:21  Et vos cum essetis aliquando alienati, et inimici sensu in operibus malis :
Colo KJV 1:21  And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
Colo DRC 1:22  Yet now he hath reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unspotted and blameless before him:
Colo VulgClem 1:22  nunc autem reconciliavit in corpore carnis ejus per mortem, exhibere vos sanctos, et immaculatos, et irreprehensibiles coram ipso :
Colo KJV 1:22  In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
Colo DRC 1:23  If so ye continue in the faith, grounded and settled, and immoveable from the hope of the gospel which you have heard, which is preached in all the creation that is under heaven: whereof I Paul am made a minister.
Colo KJV 1:23  If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
Colo DRC 1:24  Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you and fill up those things that are wanting of the sufferings of Christ, in my flesh, for his body, which is the church:
Colo VulgClem 1:24  Qui nunc gaudeo in passionibus pro vobis, et adimpleo ea quæ desunt passionum Christi, in carne mea pro corpore ejus, quod est Ecclesia :
Colo KJV 1:24  Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church:
Colo DRC 1:25  Whereof I am made a minister according to the dispensation of God, which is given me towards you, that I may fulfil the word of God:
Colo VulgClem 1:25  cujus factus sum ego minister secundum dispensationem Dei, quæ data est mihi in vos, ut impleam verbum Dei :
Colo KJV 1:25  Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
Colo DRC 1:26  The mystery which hath been hidden from ages and generations, but now is manifested to his saints,
Colo KJV 1:26  Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
Colo DRC 1:27  To whom God would make known the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ, in you the hope of glory.
Colo VulgClem 1:27  quibus voluit Deus notas facere divitias gloriæ sacramenti hujus in gentibus, quod est Christus, in vobis spes gloriæ,
Colo KJV 1:27  To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Colo DRC 1:28  Whom we preach, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.
Colo VulgClem 1:28  quem nos annuntiamus, corripientes omnem hominem, et docentes omnem hominem, in omni sapientia, ut exhibeamus omnem hominem perfectum in Christo Jesu :
Colo KJV 1:28  Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
Colo DRC 1:29  Wherein also I labour, striving according to his working which he worketh in me in power.
Colo VulgClem 1:29  in quo et laboro, certando secundum operationem ejus, quam operatur in me in virtute.
Colo KJV 1:29  Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.
Chapter 2
Colo DRC 2:1  For I would have you know what manner of care I have for you and for them that are at Laodicea and whosoever have not seen my face in the flesh:
Colo VulgClem 2:1  Volo enim vos scire qualem sollicitudinem habeam pro vobis, et pro iis qui sunt Laodiciæ, et quicumque non viderunt faciem meam in carne :
Colo KJV 2:1  For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
Colo DRC 2:2  That their hearts may be comforted, being instructed in charity and unto all riches of fulness of understanding, unto the knowledge of the mystery of God the Father and of Christ Jesus:
Colo VulgClem 2:2  ut consolentur corda ipsorum, instructi in caritate, et in omnes divitias plenitudinis intellectus, in agnitionem mysterii Dei Patris et Christi Jesu :
Colo KJV 2:2  That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
Colo DRC 2:3  In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Colo KJV 2:3  In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Colo DRC 2:4  Now this I say, that no man may deceive you by loftiness of words.
Colo KJV 2:4  And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.
Colo DRC 2:5  For though I be absent in body, yet in spirit I am with you, rejoicing, and beholding your order and the steadfastness of your faith which is in Christ.
Colo KJV 2:5  For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
Colo DRC 2:6  As therefore you have received Jesus Christ the Lord, walk ye in him:
Colo VulgClem 2:6  Sicut ergo accepistis Jesum Christum Dominum, in ipso ambulate,
Colo KJV 2:6  As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
Colo DRC 2:7  Rooted and built up in him and confirmed in the faith, as also you have learned: abounding in him in thanksgiving.
Colo VulgClem 2:7  radicati, et superædificati in ipso, et confirmati fide, sicut et didicistis, abundantes in illo in gratiarum actione.
Colo KJV 2:7  Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
Colo DRC 2:8  Beware lest any man cheat you by philosophy and vain deceit: according to the tradition of men according to the elements of the world and not according to Christ.
Colo KJV 2:8  Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Colo DRC 2:9  For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead corporeally.
Colo VulgClem 2:9  quia in ipso inhabitat omnis plenitudo divinitatis corporaliter :
Colo KJV 2:9  For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Colo DRC 2:10  And you are filled in him, who is the head of all principality and power.
Colo KJV 2:10  And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Colo DRC 2:11  In whom also you are circumcised with circumcision not made by hand in despoiling of the body of the flesh: but in the circumcision of Christ.
Colo KJV 2:11  In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
Colo DRC 2:12  Buried with him in baptism: in whom also you are risen again by the faith of the operation of God who hath raised him up from the dead.
Colo KJV 2:12  Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
Colo DRC 2:13  And you, when you were dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, he hath quickened together with him, forgiving you all offences:
Colo VulgClem 2:13  Et vos cum mortui essetis in delictis, et præputio carnis vestræ, convivificavit cum illo, donans vobis omnia delicta :
Colo KJV 2:13  And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Colo DRC 2:14  Blotting out the handwriting of the decree that was against us, which was contrary to us. And he hath taken the same out of the way, fastening it to the cross.
Colo KJV 2:14  Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Colo DRC 2:15  And despoiling the principalities and powers, he hath exposed them confidently in open shew, triumphing over them in himself.
Colo VulgClem 2:15  et expolians principatus, et potestates traduxit confidenter, palam triumphans illos in semetipso.
Colo KJV 2:15  And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Colo DRC 2:16  Let no man therefore judge you in meat or in drink or in respect of a festival day or of the new moon or of the sabbaths,
Colo VulgClem 2:16  Nemo ergo vos judicet in cibo, aut in potu, aut in parte diei festi, aut neomeniæ, aut sabbatorum :
Colo KJV 2:16  Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Colo DRC 2:17  Which are a shadow of things to come: but the body is of Christ.
Colo KJV 2:17  Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
Colo DRC 2:18  Let no man seduce you, willing in humility and religion of angels, walking in the things which he hath not seen, in vain puffed up by the sense of his flesh:
Colo VulgClem 2:18  Nemo vos seducat, volens in humilitate, et religione angelorum, quæ non vidit ambulans, frustra inflatus sensu carnis suæ,
Colo KJV 2:18  Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
Colo DRC 2:19  And not holding the head, from which the whole body, by joints and bands, being supplied with nourishment and compacted, groweth into the increase of God.
Colo KJV 2:19  And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
Colo DRC 2:20  If then you be dead with Christ from the elements of this world, why do you yet decree as though living in the world?
Colo VulgClem 2:20  Si ergo mortui estis cum Christo ab elementis hujus mundi : quid adhuc tamquam viventes in mundo decernitis ?
Colo KJV 2:20  Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
Colo DRC 2:21  Touch not: taste not: handle not.
Colo VulgClem 2:21  Ne tetigeritis, neque gustaveritis, neque contrectaveritis :
Colo KJV 2:21  (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
Colo DRC 2:22  Which all are unto destruction by the very use, according to the precepts and doctrines of men.
Colo VulgClem 2:22  quæ sunt omnia in interitum ipso usu, secundum præcepta et doctrinas hominum :
Colo KJV 2:22  Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
Colo DRC 2:23  Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in superstition and humility, and not sparing the body; not in any honour to the filling of the flesh.
Colo KJV 2:23  Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
Chapter 3
Colo DRC 3:1  Therefore if you be risen with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God.
Colo KJV 3:1  If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Colo DRC 3:2  Mind the things that are above, not the things that are upon the earth.
Colo KJV 3:2  Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Colo DRC 3:3  For you are dead: and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Colo KJV 3:3  For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Colo DRC 3:4  When Christ shall appear, who is your life, then you also shall appear with him in glory.
Colo VulgClem 3:4  Cum Christus apparuerit, vita vestra : tunc et vos apparebitis cum ipso in gloria.
Colo KJV 3:4  When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Colo DRC 3:5  Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth: fornication, uncleanness, lust, evil concupiscence and covetousness, which is the service of idols.
Colo VulgClem 3:5  Mortificate ergo membra vestra, quæ sunt super terram : fornicationem, immunditiam, libidinem, concupiscentiam malam, et avaritiam, quæ est simulacrorum servitus :
Colo KJV 3:5  Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
Colo DRC 3:6  For which things the wrath of God cometh upon the children of unbelief.
Colo VulgClem 3:6  propter quæ venit ira Dei super filios incredulitatis :
Colo KJV 3:6  For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
Colo DRC 3:7  In which you also walked some time, when you lived in them.
Colo KJV 3:7  In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
Colo DRC 3:8  But now put you also all away: anger, indignation, malice, blasphemy, filthy speech out of your mouth.
Colo KJV 3:8  But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
Colo DRC 3:9  Lie not one to another: stripping yourselves of the old man with his deeds,
Colo VulgClem 3:9  Nolite mentiri invicem, expoliantes vos veterem hominem cum actibus suis,
Colo KJV 3:9  Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
Colo DRC 3:10  And putting on the new, him who is renewed unto knowledge, according to the image of him that created him.
Colo KJV 3:10  And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
Colo DRC 3:11  Where there is neither Gentile nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian nor Scythian, bond nor free. But Christ is all and in all.
Colo KJV 3:11  Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
Colo DRC 3:12  Put ye on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, the bowels of mercy, benignity, humility, modesty, patience:
Colo VulgClem 3:12  Induite vos ergo, sicut electi Dei, sancti, et dilecti, viscera misericordiæ, benignitatem, humilitatem, modestiam, patientiam :
Colo KJV 3:12  Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
Colo DRC 3:13  Bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if any have a complaint against another. Even as the Lord hath forgiven you, so do you also.
Colo KJV 3:13  Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
Colo DRC 3:14  But above all these things have charity, which is the bond of perfection.
Colo KJV 3:14  And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
Colo DRC 3:15  And let the peace of Christ rejoice in your hearts, wherein also you are called in one body: and be ye thankful.
Colo VulgClem 3:15  et pax Christi exsultet in cordibus vestris, in qua et vocati estis in uno corpore : et grati estote.
Colo KJV 3:15  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Colo DRC 3:16  Let the word of Christ dwell in you abundantly: in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, hymns and spiritual canticles, singing in grace in your hearts to God.
Colo VulgClem 3:16  Verbum Christi habitet in vobis abundanter, in omni sapientia, docentes, et commonentes vosmetipsos, psalmis, hymnis, et canticis spiritualibus, in gratia cantantes in cordibus vestris Deo.
Colo KJV 3:16  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Colo DRC 3:17  All whatsoever you do in word or in work, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Colo VulgClem 3:17  Omne, quodcumque facitis in verbo aut in opere, omnia in nomine Domini Jesu Christi, gratias agentes Deo et Patri per ipsum.
Colo KJV 3:17  And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Colo DRC 3:18  Wives, be subject to your husbands, as it behoveth in the Lord.
Colo VulgClem 3:18  Mulieres, subditæ estote viris, sicut oportet, in Domino.
Colo KJV 3:18  Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
Colo DRC 3:19  Husbands, love your wives and be not bitter towards them.
Colo KJV 3:19  Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
Colo DRC 3:20  Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing to the Lord.
Colo KJV 3:20  Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
Colo DRC 3:21  Fathers, provoke not your children to indignation, lest they be discouraged.
Colo KJV 3:21  Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
