Chapter 1
Zech DRC 1:1  In the eighth month, in the second year of king Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zechariah the son of Barachias, the son of Addo, the prophet, saying:
Zech VulgClem 1:1  In mense octavo, in anno secundo Darii regis, factum est verbum Domini ad Zachariam filium Barachiæ filii Addo prophetam, dicens :
Zech KJV 1:1  In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
Zech DRC 1:2  The Lord hath been exceeding angry with your fathers.
Zech VulgClem 1:2  Iratus est Dominus super patres vestros iracundia.
Zech KJV 1:2  The Lord hath been sore displeased with your fathers.
Zech DRC 1:3  And thou shalt say to them: Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Turn ye to me, saith the Lord of hosts: and I will turn to you, saith the Lord of hosts.
Zech KJV 1:3  Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts.
Zech DRC 1:4  Be not as your fathers, to whom the former prophets have cried, saying: Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Turn ye from your evil ways, and from your wicked thoughts: but they did not give ear, neither did they hearken to me, saith the Lord.
Zech KJV 1:4  Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the Lord.
Zech DRC 1:5  Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, shall they live always?
Zech KJV 1:5  Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever?
Zech DRC 1:6  But yet my words, and my ordinances, which I gave in charge to my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers, and they returned, and said: As the Lord of hosts thought to do to us according to our ways, and according to our devices, so he hath done to us.
Zech KJV 1:6  But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the Lord of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.
Zech DRC 1:7  In the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month which is called Sabath, in the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zechariah the son of Barachias, the son of Addo, the prophet, saying:
Zech VulgClem 1:7  In die vigesima et quarta undecimi mensis Sabath, in anno secundo Darii, factum est verbum Domini ad Zachariam filium Barachiæ filii Addo prophetam, dicens :
Zech KJV 1:7  Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
Zech DRC 1:8  I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees, that were in the bottom: and behind him were horses, red, speckled, and white.
Zech KJV 1:8  I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him were there red horses, speckled, and white.
Zech DRC 1:9  And I said: What are these, my Lord? and the angel that spoke in me, said to me: I will shew thee what these are:
Zech VulgClem 1:9  Et dixi : Quid sunt isti, domine mi ? Et dixit ad me angelus qui loquebatur in me : Ego ostendam tibi quid sint hæc.
Zech KJV 1:9  Then said I, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will shew thee what these be.
Zech DRC 1:10  And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered, and said: These are they, whom the Lord hath sent to walk through the earth.
Zech KJV 1:10  And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the Lord hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth.
Zech DRC 1:11  And they answered the angel of the Lord, that stood among the myrtle trees, and said: We have walked through the earth, and behold all the earth is inhabited, and is at rest.
Zech KJV 1:11  And they answered the angel of the Lord that stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth still, and is at rest.
Zech DRC 1:12  And the angel of the Lord answered, and said: O Lord of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem, and on the cities of Juda, with which thou hast been angry? this is now the seventieth year.
Zech KJV 1:12  Then the angel of the Lord answered and said, O Lord of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years?
Zech DRC 1:13  And the Lord answered the angel, that spoke in me, good words, comfortable words.
Zech VulgClem 1:13  Et respondit Dominus angelo qui loquebatur in me verba bona, verba consolatoria.
Zech KJV 1:13  And the Lord answered the angel that talked with me with good words and comfortable words.
Zech DRC 1:14  And the angel that spoke in me, said to me: Cry thou, saying: Thus saith the Lord of hosts: I am zealous for Jerusalem, and Sion with a great zeal.
Zech VulgClem 1:14  Et dixit ad me angelus qui loquebatur in me : Clama, dicens : Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum : Zelatus sum Jerusalem et Sion zelo magno,
Zech KJV 1:14  So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.
Zech DRC 1:15  And I am angry with a great anger with the wealthy nations: for I was angry a little, but they helped forward the evil.
Zech VulgClem 1:15  et ira magna ego irascor super gentes opulentas, quia ego iratus sum parum, ipsi vero adjuverunt in malum.
Zech KJV 1:15  And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction.
Zech DRC 1:16  Therefore thus saith the Lord: I will return to Jerusalem in mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the Lord of hosts: and the building line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.
Zech VulgClem 1:16  Propterea hæc dicit Dominus : Revertar ad Jerusalem in misericordiis, et domus mea ædificabitur in ea, ait Dominus exercituum, et perpendiculum extendetur super Jerusalem.
Zech KJV 1:16  Therefore thus saith the Lord; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the Lord of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.
Zech DRC 1:17  Cry yet, saying: Thus saith the Lord of hosts: My cities shall yet flow with good things: and the Lord will yet comfort Sion, and he will yet choose Jerusalem.
Zech VulgClem 1:17  Adhuc clama, dicens : Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum : Adhuc affluent civitates meæ bonis, et consolabitur adhuc Dominus Sion, et eliget adhuc Jerusalem.
Zech KJV 1:17  Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the Lord shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.
Zech DRC 1:18  And I lifted up my eyes, and saw: and behold four horns.
Zech VulgClem 1:18  Et levavi oculos meos, et vidi, et ecce quatuor cornua.
Zech KJV 1:18  Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns.
Zech DRC 1:19  And I said to the angel that spoke in me: What are these? And he said to me: These are the horns that have scattered Juda, and Israel, and Jerusalem.
Zech KJV 1:19  And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
Zech DRC 1:20  And the Lord shewed me four smiths.
Zech VulgClem 1:20  Et ostendit mihi Dominus quatuor fabros.
Zech KJV 1:20  And the Lord shewed me four carpenters.
Zech DRC 1:21  And I said: What come these to do? and he spoke, saying: These are the horns which have scattered Juda every man apart, and none of them lifted up his head: and these are come to fray them, to cast down the horns of the nations, that have lifted up the horn upon the land of Juda to scatter it.
Zech VulgClem 1:21  Et dixi : Quid isti veniunt facere ?
Zech KJV 1:21  Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.
Chapter 2
Zech DRC 2:1  And I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold a man, with a measuring line in his hand.
Zech VulgClem 2:1  Et levavi oculos meos, et vidi, et ecce vir, et in manu ejus funiculus mensorum.
Zech KJV 2:1  I lifted up mine eyes again, and looked, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand.
Zech DRC 2:2  And I said: Whither goest thou? and he said to me: To measure Jerusalem, and to see how great is the breadth thereof, and how great the length thereof.
Zech VulgClem 2:2  Et dixi : Quo tu vadis ?
Zech KJV 2:2  Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.
Zech DRC 2:3  And behold the angel that spoke in me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him.
Zech VulgClem 2:3  Et ecce angelus qui loquebatur in me egrediebatur, et angelus alius egrediebatur in occursum ejus :
Zech KJV 2:3  And, behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,
Zech DRC 2:4  And he said to him: Run, speak to this young man, saying: Jerusalem shall be inhabited without walls, by reason of the multitude of men, and of the beasts in the midst thereof.
Zech KJV 2:4  And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein:
Zech DRC 2:5  And I will be to it, saith the Lord, a wall of fire round about: and I will be in glory in the midst thereof.
Zech VulgClem 2:5  Et ego ero ei, ait Dominus, murus ignis in circuitu, et in gloria ero in medio ejus.
Zech KJV 2:5  For I, saith the Lord, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.
Zech DRC 2:6  O, O flee ye out of the land of the north, saith the Lord, for I have scattered you into the four winds of heaven, saith the Lord.
Zech VulgClem 2:6  O, o, fugite de terra aquilonis, dicit Dominus, quoniam in quatuor ventos cæli dispersi vos, dicit Dominus.
Zech KJV 2:6  Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the Lord: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the Lord.
Zech DRC 2:7  O Sion, flee, thou that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon:
Zech VulgClem 2:7  O Sion ! fuge, quæ habitas apud filiam Babylonis :
Zech KJV 2:7  Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.
Zech DRC 2:8  For thus saith the Lord of hosts: After the glory he hath sent me to the nations that have robbed you: for he that toucheth you, toucheth the apple of my eye:
Zech VulgClem 2:8  quia hæc dicit Dominus exercituum : Post gloriam misit me ad gentes quæ spoliaverunt vos : qui enim tetigerit vos, tangit pupillam oculi mei :
Zech KJV 2:8  For thus saith the Lord of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.
Zech DRC 2:9  For behold, I lift up my hand upon them, and they shall be a prey to those that served them: and you shall know that the Lord of hosts sent me.
Zech VulgClem 2:9  quia ecce ego levo manum meam super eos, et erunt prædæ his qui serviebant sibi : et cognoscetis quia Dominus exercituum misit me.
Zech KJV 2:9  For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me.
Zech DRC 2:10  Sing praise, and rejoice, O daughter of Sion: for behold I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee: saith the Lord.
Zech VulgClem 2:10  Lauda et lætare, filia Sion, quia ecce ego venio, et habitabo in medio tui, ait Dominus.
Zech KJV 2:10  Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the Lord.
Zech DRC 2:11  And many nations shall be joined to the Lord in that day, and they shall be my people, and I will dwell in the midst of thee: and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me to thee.
Zech KJV 2:11  And many nations shall be joined to the Lord in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto thee.
Zech DRC 2:12  And the Lord shall possess Juda his portion in the sanctified land: and he shall yet choose Jerusalem.
Zech VulgClem 2:12  Et possidebit Dominus Judam partem suam in terra sanctificata, et eliget adhuc Jerusalem.
Zech KJV 2:12  And the Lord shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.
Zech DRC 2:13  Let all flesh be silent at the presence of the Lord: for he is risen up out of his holy habitation.
Zech VulgClem 2:13  Sileat omnis caro a facie Domini, quia consurrexit de habitaculo sancto suo.
Zech KJV 2:13  Be silent, O all flesh, before the Lord: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.
Chapter 3
Zech DRC 3:1  And the Lord shewed me Jesus the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord: and Satan stood on his right hand to be his adversary.
Zech VulgClem 3:1  Et ostendit mihi Dominus Jesum sacerdotem magnum, stantem coram angelo Domini : et Satan stabat a dextris ejus ut adversaretur ei.
Zech KJV 3:1  And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.
Zech DRC 3:2  And the Lord said to Satan: The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan: and the Lord that chose Jerusalem rebuke thee: Is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?
Zech KJV 3:2  And the Lord said unto Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?
Zech DRC 3:3  And Jesus was clothed with filthy garments: and he stood before the face of the angel.
Zech VulgClem 3:3  Et Jesus erat indutus vestibus sordidis, et stabat ante faciem angeli.
Zech KJV 3:3  Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel.
Zech DRC 3:4  Who answered, and said to them that stood before him, saying: Take away the filthy garments from him. And he said to him: Behold I have taken away thy iniquity, and have clothed thee with change of garments.
Zech KJV 3:4  And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.
Zech DRC 3:5  And he said: Put a clean mitre upon his head: and they put a clean mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments, and the angel of the Lord stood.
Zech VulgClem 3:5  Et dixit : Ponite cidarim mundam super caput ejus. Et posuerunt cidarim mundam super caput ejus, et induerunt eum vestibus : et angelus Domini stabat.
Zech KJV 3:5  And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the Lord stood by.
Zech DRC 3:6  And the angel of the Lord protested to Jesus, saying:
Zech VulgClem 3:6  Et contestabatur angelus Domini Jesum, dicens :
Zech KJV 3:6  And the angel of the Lord protested unto Joshua, saying,
Zech DRC 3:7  Thus saith the Lord of hosts: If thou wilt walk in my ways, and keep my charge, thou also shalt judge my house, and shalt keep my courts, and I will give thee some of them that are now present here to walk with thee.
Zech VulgClem 3:7  Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum : Si in viis meis ambulaveris, et custodiam meam custodieris, tu quoque judicabis domum meam, et custodies atria mea, et dabo tibi ambulantes de his qui nunc hic assistunt.
Zech KJV 3:7  Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.
Zech DRC 3:8  Hear, O Jesus thou high priest, thou and thy friends that dwell before thee, for they are portending men: for behold, I WILL BRING MY SERVANT THE ORIENT.
Zech KJV 3:8  Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH.
Zech DRC 3:9  For behold the stone that I have laid before Jesus: upon one stone there are seven eyes: behold I will grave the graving thereof, saith the Lord of hosts: and I will take away the iniquity of that land in one day.
Zech VulgClem 3:9  Quia ecce lapis quem dedi coram Jesu : super lapidem unum septem oculi sunt : ecce ego cælabo sculpturam ejus, ait Dominus exercituum, et auferam iniquitatem terræ illius in die una.
Zech KJV 3:9  For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.
Zech DRC 3:10  In that day, saith the Lord of hosts, every man shall call his friend under the vine and under the fig tree.
Zech VulgClem 3:10  In die illa, dicit Dominus exercituum, vocabit vir amicum suum subter vitem et subter ficum.
Zech KJV 3:10  In that day, saith the Lord of hosts, shall ye call every man his neighbour under the vine and under the fig tree.
Chapter 4
Zech DRC 4:1  And the angel that spoke in me came again: and he waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep.
Zech VulgClem 4:1  Et reversus est angelus qui loquebatur in me, et suscitavit me quasi virum qui suscitatur de somno suo.
Zech KJV 4:1  And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep,
Zech DRC 4:2  And he said to me: What seest thou? And I said: I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, and its lamp upon the top of it: and the seven lights thereof upon it: and seven funnels for the lights that were upon the top thereof.
Zech VulgClem 4:2  Et dixit ad me : Quid tu vides ? Et dixi : Vidi, et ecce candelabrum aureum totum, et lampas ejus super caput ipsius, et septem lucernæ ejus super illud, et septem infusoria lucernis quæ erant super caput ejus.
Zech KJV 4:2  And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:
Zech DRC 4:3  And two olive trees over it: one upon the right side of the lamp, and the other upon the left side thereof.
Zech VulgClem 4:3  Et duæ olivæ super illud : una a dextris lampadis, et una a sinistris ejus.
Zech KJV 4:3  And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.
Zech DRC 4:4  And I answered, and said to the angel that spoke in me, saying: What are these things, my lord?
Zech KJV 4:4  So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?
Zech DRC 4:5  And the angel that spoke in me answered, and said to me: Knowest thou not what these things are? And I said: No, my lord.
Zech VulgClem 4:5  Et respondit angelus qui loquebatur in me, et dixit ad me : Numquid nescis quid sunt hæc ? Et dixi : Non, domine mi.
Zech KJV 4:5  Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
Zech DRC 4:6  And he answered, and spoke to me, saying: This is the word of the Lord to Zorobabel, saying: Not with an army, nor by might, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.
Zech KJV 4:6  Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.
Zech DRC 4:7  Who art thou, O great mountain, before Zorobabel? thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring out the chief stone, and shall give equal grace to the grace thereof.
Zech VulgClem 4:7  Quis tu, mons magne, coram Zorobabel ? In planum : et educet lapidem primarium, et exæquabit gratiam gratiæ ejus.
Zech KJV 4:7  Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
Zech DRC 4:8  And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
Zech VulgClem 4:8  Et factum est verbum Domini ad me, dicens :
Zech KJV 4:8  Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
Zech DRC 4:9  The hands of Zorobabel have laid the foundations of this house, and his hands shall finish it: and you shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me to you.
Zech VulgClem 4:9  Manus Zorobabel fundaverunt domum istam, et manus ejus perficient eam : et scietis quia Dominus exercituum misit me ad vos.
Zech KJV 4:9  The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you.
Zech DRC 4:10  For who hath despised little days? and they shall rejoice, and shall see the tin plummet in the hand of Zorobabel. These are the seven eyes of the Lord, that run to and fro through the whole earth.
Zech KJV 4:10  For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the Lord, which run to and fro through the whole earth.
Zech DRC 4:11  And I answered, and said to him: What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick, and upon the left side thereof ?
Zech KJV 4:11  Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?
Zech DRC 4:12  And I answered again, and said to him: What are the two olive branches, that are by the two golden beaks, in which are the funnels of gold?
Zech KJV 4:12  And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?
Zech DRC 4:13  And he spoke to me, saying: Knowest thou not what these are? And I said: No, my lord.
Zech VulgClem 4:13  Et ait ad me, dicens : Numquid nescis quid sunt hæc ? Et dixi : Non, domine mi.
Zech KJV 4:13  And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
Zech DRC 4:14  And he said: These are two sons of oil who stand before the Lord of the whole earth.
Zech VulgClem 4:14  Et dixit : Isti sunt duo filii olei, qui assistunt Dominatori universæ terræ.
Zech KJV 4:14  Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.
Chapter 5
Zech DRC 5:1  And I turned and lifted up my eyes: and I saw, and behold a volume flying.
Zech VulgClem 5:1  Et conversus sum, et levavi oculos meos, et vidi, et ecce volumen volans.
Zech KJV 5:1  Then I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a flying roll.
Zech DRC 5:2  And he said to me: What seest thou? And I said: I see a volume flying: the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits.
Zech VulgClem 5:2  Et dixit ad me : Quid tu vides ? Et dixi : Ego video volumen volans : longitudo ejus viginti cubitorum, et latitudo ejus decem cubitorum.
Zech KJV 5:2  And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits.
Zech DRC 5:3  And he said to me: This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the earth: for every thief shall be judged as is there written: and every one that sweareth in like manner shall be judged by it.
Zech KJV 5:3  Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be cut off as on that side according to it.
Zech DRC 5:4  I will bring it forth, saith the Lord of hosts: and it shall come to the house of the thief, and to the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it, with the timber thereof, and the stones thereof.
Zech KJV 5:4  I will bring it forth, saith the Lord of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.
Zech DRC 5:5  And the angel went forth that spoke in me, and he said to me: Lift up thy eyes, and see what this is, that goeth forth.
Zech VulgClem 5:5  Et egressus est angelus qui loquebatur in me, et dixit ad me : Leva oculos tuos, et vide quid est hoc quod egreditur.
Zech KJV 5:5  Then the angel that talked with me went forth, and said unto me, Lift up now thine eyes, and see what is this that goeth forth.
Zech DRC 5:6  And I said: What is it? And he said: This is a vessel going forth. And he said: This is their eye in all the earth.
Zech VulgClem 5:6  Et dixi : Quidnam est ? Et ait : Hæc est amphora egrediens. Et dixit : Hæc est oculus eorum in universa terra.
Zech KJV 5:6  And I said, What is it? And he said, This is an ephah that goeth forth. He said moreover, This is their resemblance through all the earth.
Zech DRC 5:7  And behold a talent of lead was carried, and behold a woman sitting in the midst of the vessel.
Zech VulgClem 5:7  Et ecce talentum plumbi portabatur, et ecce mulier una sedens in medio amphoræ.
Zech KJV 5:7  And, behold, there was lifted up a talent of lead: and this is a woman that sitteth in the midst of the ephah.
Zech DRC 5:8  And he said: This is wickedness. And he cast her into the midst of the vessel, and cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof.
Zech VulgClem 5:8  Et dixit : Hæc est impietas. Et projecit eam in medio amphoræ, et misit massam plumbeam in os ejus.
Zech KJV 5:8  And he said, This is wickedness. And he cast it into the midst of the ephah; and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof.
Zech DRC 5:9  And I lifted up my eyes and looked: and behold there came out two women, and wind was in their wings, and they had wings like the wings of a kite: and they lifted up the vessel between the earth and the heaven.
Zech KJV 5:9  Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven.
Zech DRC 5:10  And I said to the angel that spoke in me: Whither do these carry the vessel?
Zech VulgClem 5:10  Et dixi ad angelum qui loquebatur in me : Quo istæ deferunt amphoram ?
Zech KJV 5:10  Then said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these bear the ephah?
Zech DRC 5:11  And he said to me: That a house may be built for it in the land of Sennaar, and that it may be established, and set there upon its own basis.
Zech VulgClem 5:11  Et dixit ad me : Ut ædificetur ei domus in terra Sennaar, et stabiliatur, et ponatur ibi super basem suam.
Zech KJV 5:11  And he said unto me, To build it an house in the land of Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base.
Chapter 6
Zech DRC 6:1  And I turned, and lifted up my eyes, and saw: and behold four chariots came out from the midst of two mountains: and the mountains were mountains of brass.
Zech KJV 6:1  And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass.
Zech DRC 6:2  In the first chariot were red horses, and in the second chariot black horses.
Zech VulgClem 6:2  In quadriga prima equi rufi, et in quadriga secunda equi nigri,
Zech KJV 6:2  In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses;
Zech DRC 6:3  And in the third chariot white horses, and in the fourth chariot grisled horses, and strong ones.
Zech VulgClem 6:3  et in quadriga tertia equi albi, et in quadriga quarta equi varii et fortes.
Zech KJV 6:3  And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses.
Zech DRC 6:4  And I answered, and said to the angel that spoke in me: What are these, my lord?
Zech KJV 6:4  Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord?
Zech DRC 6:5  And the angel answered, and said to me: These are the four winds of the heaven, which go forth to stand before the Lord of all the earth.
Zech KJV 6:5  And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.
Zech DRC 6:6  That in which were the black horses went forth into the land of the north, and the white went forth after them: and the grisled went forth to the land the south.
Zech KJV 6:6  The black horses which are therein go forth into the north country; and the white go forth after them; and the grisled go forth toward the south country.
Zech DRC 6:7  And they that were most strong, went out, and sought to go, and to run to and fro through all the earth. And he said: Go, walk throughout the earth: and they walked throughout the earth.
Zech KJV 6:7  And the bay went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth: and he said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth.
Zech DRC 6:8  And he called me, and spoke to me, saying: Behold they that go forth into the land of the north, have quieted my spirit in the land of the north.
Zech VulgClem 6:8  Et vocavit me, et locutus est ad me, dicens : Ecce qui egrediuntur in terram aquilonis, requiescere fecerunt spiritum meum in terra aquilonis.
Zech KJV 6:8  Then cried he upon me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.
Zech DRC 6:9  And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
Zech VulgClem 6:9  Et factum est verbum Domini ad me, dicens :
Zech KJV 6:9  And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
Zech DRC 6:10  Take of them of the captivity, of Holdai, and of Tobias, and of Idaias; thou shalt come in that day, and shalt go into the house of Josias, the son of Sophonias, who came out of Babylon.
Zech VulgClem 6:10  Sume a transmigratione, ab Holdai, et a Tobia, et ab Idaia : et venies tu in die illa, et intrabis domum Josiæ filii Sophoniæ, qui venerunt de Babylone.
Zech KJV 6:10  Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah, which are come from Babylon, and come thou the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah;
Zech DRC 6:11  And thou shalt take gold and silver: and shalt make crowns, and thou shalt set them on the head of Jesus the son of Josedec, the high priest.
Zech VulgClem 6:11  Et sumes aurum et argentum, et facies coronas, et pones in capite Jesu filii Josedec, sacerdotis magni :
Zech KJV 6:11  Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest;
Zech DRC 6:12  And thou shalt speak to him, saying: Thus saith the Lord of hosts, saying: BEHOLD A MAN, THE ORIENT IS HIS NAME: and under him shall he spring up, and shall build a temple to the Lord.
Zech KJV 6:12  And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the Lord:
Zech DRC 6:13  Yea, he shall build a temple to the Lord: and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit, and rule upon his throne: and he shall be a priest upon his throne, and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.
Zech KJV 6:13  Even he shall build the temple of the Lord; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.
Zech DRC 6:14  And the crowns shall be to Helem, and Tobias, and Idaias, and to Hem, the son of Sophonias, a memorial in the temple of the Lord.
Zech VulgClem 6:14  Et coronæ erunt Helem, et Tobiæ, et Idaiæ, et Hem filio Sophoniæ, memoriale in templo Domini.
Zech KJV 6:14  And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of the Lord.
Zech DRC 6:15  And they that are far off, shall come and shall build in the temple of the Lord: and you shall know that the Lord of hosts sent me to you. But this shall come to pass, if hearing you will hear the voice of the Lord your God.
Zech KJV 6:15  And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the Lord, and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.
Chapter 7
Zech DRC 7:1  And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius, that the word of the Lord came to Zechariah, in the fourth day of the ninth month, which is Casleu.
Zech KJV 7:1  And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius, that the word of the Lord came unto Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, even in Chisleu;
Zech DRC 7:2  When Sarasar, and Rogommelech, and the men that were with him, sent to the house of God, to entreat the face of the Lord:
Zech VulgClem 7:2  Et miserunt ad domum Dei Sarasar et Rogommelech, et viri qui erant cum eo, ad deprecandam faciem Domini :
Zech KJV 7:2  When they had sent unto the house of God Sherezer and Regem–melech, and their men, to pray before the Lord,
Zech DRC 7:3  To speak to the priests of the house of the Lord of hosts, and to the prophets, saying: Must I weep in the fifth month, or must I sanctify myself as I have now done for many years?
Zech VulgClem 7:3  ut dicerent sacerdotibus domus Domini exercituum, et prophetis, loquentes : Numquid flendum est mihi in quinto mense, vel sanctificare me debeo, sicut jam feci multis annis ?
Zech KJV 7:3  And to speak unto the priests which were in the house of the Lord of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?
Zech DRC 7:4  And the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying:
Zech VulgClem 7:4  Et factum est verbum Domini exercituum ad me, dicens :
Zech KJV 7:4  Then came the word of the Lord of hosts unto me, saying,
Zech DRC 7:5  Speak to all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying: When you fasted, and mourned in the fifth and the seventh month for these seventy years: did you keep a fast unto me?
Zech KJV 7:5  Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me?
Zech DRC 7:6  And when you did eat and drink, did you not eat for yourselves, and drink for yourselves?
Zech KJV 7:6  And when ye did eat, and when ye did drink, did not ye eat for yourselves, and drink for yourselves?
Zech DRC 7:7  Are not these the words which the Lord spoke by the hand of the former prophets, when Jerusalem as yet was inhabited, and was wealthy, both itself and the cities round about it, and there were inhabitants towards the south, and in the plain?
Zech KJV 7:7  Should ye not hear the words which the Lord hath cried by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, when men inhabited the south and the plain?
Zech DRC 7:8  And the word of the Lord came to Zechariah, saying:
Zech VulgClem 7:8  Et factum est verbum Domini ad Zachariam, dicens :
Zech KJV 7:8  And the word of the Lord came unto Zechariah, saying,
Zech DRC 7:9  Thus saith the Lord of hosts, saying: Judge ye true judgment, and shew ye mercy and compassion every man to his brother.
Zech KJV 7:9  Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:
Zech DRC 7:10  And oppress not the widow, and the fatherless, and the stranger, and the poor: and let not a man devise evil in his heart against his brother.
Zech KJV 7:10  And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.
Zech DRC 7:11  But they would not hearken, and they turned away the shoulder to depart: and they stopped their ears, not to hear.
Zech KJV 7:11  But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.
Zech DRC 7:12  And they made their heart as the adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the Lord of hosts sent in his spirit by the hand of the former prophets: so a great indignation came from Lord of hosts.
Zech KJV 7:12  Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the Lord of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the Lord of hosts.
Zech DRC 7:13  And it came to pass that as he spoke, and they heard not: so shall they cry, and I will not hear, saith the Lord of hosts.
Zech KJV 7:13  Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the Lord of hosts:
Zech DRC 7:14  And I dispersed them throughout all kingdoms, which they know not: and the land was left desolate behind them, so that no man passed through or returned: and they changed the delightful land into a wilderness.
Zech KJV 7:14  But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they laid the pleasant land desolate.
Chapter 8
Zech DRC 8:1  And the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying:
Zech VulgClem 8:1  Et factum est verbum Domini exercituum, dicens :
Zech KJV 8:1  Again the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying,
Zech DRC 8:2  Thus saith the Lord of hosts: I have been jealous for Sion with a great jealousy, and with a great indignation have I been jealous for her.
Zech VulgClem 8:2  Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum : Zelatus sum Sion zelo magno, et indignatione magna zelatus sum eam.
Zech KJV 8:2  Thus saith the Lord of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury.
Zech DRC 8:3  Thus saith the Lord of hosts: I am returned to Sion, and I will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called The city of truth, and the mountain of the Lord of hosts, The sanctified mountain.
Zech KJV 8:3  Thus saith the Lord; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the Lord of hosts the holy mountain.
Zech DRC 8:4  Thus saith the Lord of hosts: There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem: and every man with his staff in his hand through multitude of days.
Zech VulgClem 8:4  Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum : Adhuc habitabunt senes et anus in plateis Jerusalem, et viri baculus in manu ejus præ multitudine dierum.
Zech KJV 8:4  Thus saith the Lord of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age.
Zech DRC 8:5  And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls, playing in the streets thereof.
Zech VulgClem 8:5  Et plateæ civitatis complebuntur infantibus et puellis, ludentibus in plateis ejus.
Zech KJV 8:5  And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof.
Zech DRC 8:6  Thus saith the Lord of hosts: If it seem hard in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days: shall it be hard in my eyes, saith the Lord of hosts?
Zech VulgClem 8:6  Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum : Si videbitur difficile in oculis reliquiarum populi hujus in diebus illis, numquid in oculis meis difficile erit ? dicit Dominus exercituum.
Zech KJV 8:6  Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If it be marvellous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, should it also be marvellous in mine eyes? saith the Lord of hosts.
Zech DRC 8:7  Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Behold I will save my people from the land of the east, and from the land of the going down of the sun.
Zech KJV 8:7  Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country;
Zech DRC 8:8  And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God in truth and in justice.
Zech VulgClem 8:8  Et adducam eos, et habitabunt in medio Jerusalem : et erunt mihi in populum, et ego ero eis in Deum, in veritate et in justitia.
Zech KJV 8:8  And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.
Zech DRC 8:9  Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Let your hands be strengthened, you that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, in the day that the house of the Lord of hosts was founded, that the temple might be built.
Zech VulgClem 8:9  Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum : Confortentur manus vestræ, qui auditis in his diebus sermones istos per os prophetarum, in die qua fundata est domus Domini exercituum, ut templum ædificaretur.
Zech KJV 8:9  Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, which were in the day that the foundation of the house of the Lord of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.
Zech DRC 8:10  For before those days there was no hire for men, neither was there hire for beasts, neither was there peace to him that came in, nor to him that went out, because of the tribulation: and I let all men go every one against his neighbour.
Zech KJV 8:10  For before these days there was no hire for man, nor any hire for beast; neither was there any peace to him that went out or came in because of the affliction: for I set all men every one against his neighbour.
Zech DRC 8:11  But now I will not deal with the remnant of this people according to the former days, saith the Lord of hosts.
Zech VulgClem 8:11  Nunc autem non juxta dies priores ego faciam reliquiis populi hujus, dicit Dominus exercituum,
Zech KJV 8:11  But now I will not be unto the residue of this people as in the former days, saith the Lord of hosts.
Zech DRC 8:12  But there shall be the seed of peace: the vine shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew: and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.
Zech VulgClem 8:12  sed semen pacis erit : vinea dabit fructum suum, et terra dabit germen suum, et cæli dabunt rorem suum : et possidere faciam reliquias populi hujus universa hæc.
Zech KJV 8:12  For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.
Zech DRC 8:13  And it shall come to pass, that as you were a curse among the Gentiles, O house of Juda, and house of Israel: so will I save you, and you shall be a blessing: fear not, let your hands be strengthened.
Zech VulgClem 8:13  Et erit : sicut eratis maledictio in gentibus, domus Juda et domus Israël, sic salvabo vos, et eritis benedictio. Nolite timere ; confortentur manus vestræ.
Zech KJV 8:13  And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong.
Zech DRC 8:14  For thus saith the Lord of hosts: As I purposed to afflict you, when your fathers had provoked me to wrath, saith the Lord,
Zech VulgClem 8:14  Quia hæc dicit Dominus exercituum : Sicut cogitavi ut affligerem vos, cum ad iracundiam provocassent patres vestri me, dicit Dominus,
Zech KJV 8:14  For thus saith the Lord of hosts; As I thought to punish you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath, saith the Lord of hosts, and I repented not:
Zech DRC 8:15  And I had no mercy: so turning again I have thought in these days to do good to the house of Juda, and Jerusalem: fear not.
Nolite timere.
Zech KJV 8:15  So again have I thought in these days to do well unto Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: fear ye not.
Zech DRC 8:16  These then are the things, which you shall do: Speak ye truth every one to his neighbour; judge ye truth and judgment of peace in your gates.
Zech VulgClem 8:16  Hæc sunt ergo verba quæ facietis : loquimini veritatem unusquisque cum proximo suo : veritatem et judicium pacis judicate in portis vestris.
Zech KJV 8:16  These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:
Zech DRC 8:17  And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his friend: and love not a false oath: for all these are the things that I hate, saith the Lord.
Zech VulgClem 8:17  Et unusquisque malum contra amicum suum ne cogitetis in cordibus vestris, et juramentum mendax ne diligatis : omnia enim hæc sunt quæ odi, dicit Dominus.
Zech KJV 8:17  And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the Lord.
Zech DRC 8:18  And the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying:
Zech VulgClem 8:18  Et factum est verbum Domini exercituum ad me, dicens :
Zech KJV 8:18  And the word of the Lord of hosts came unto me, saying,
Zech DRC 8:19  Thus saith the Lord of hosts: The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth shall be to the house of Juda, joy, and gladness, and great solemnities: only love ye truth and peace.
Zech VulgClem 8:19  Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum : Jejunium quarti, et jejunium quinti, et jejunium septimi, et jejunium decimi erit domui Juda in gaudium et lætitiam et in solemnitates præclaras. Veritatem tantum et pacem diligite.
Zech KJV 8:19  Thus saith the Lord of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace.
Zech DRC 8:20  Thus saith the Lord of hosts, until people come and dwell in many cities,
Zech VulgClem 8:20  Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum, usquequo veniant populi et habitent in civitatibus multis :
Zech KJV 8:20  Thus saith the Lord of hosts; It shall yet come to pass, that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities:
Zech DRC 8:21  And the inhabitants go one to another, saying: Let us go, and entreat the face of the Lord, and let us seek the Lord of hosts: I also will go.
Zech KJV 8:21  And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the Lord, and to seek the Lord of hosts: I will go also.
Zech DRC 8:22  And many peoples, and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem, and to entreat the face of the Lord.
Zech KJV 8:22  Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the Lord.
Zech DRC 8:23  Thus saith the Lord of hosts: In those days, wherein ten men of all languages of the Gentiles shall take hold, and shall hold fast the skirt of one that is a Jew, saying: We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.
Zech VulgClem 8:23  Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum : In diebus illis, in quibus apprehendent decem homines ex omnibus linguis gentium, et apprehendent fimbriam viri Judæi, dicentes : Ibimus vobiscum : audivimus enim quoniam Deus vobiscum est.
Zech KJV 8:23  Thus saith the Lord of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.
Chapter 9
Zech DRC 9:1  The burden of the word of the Lord in the land of Hadrach, and of Damascus the rest thereof: for the eye of man, and of all the tribes of Israel is the Lord's.
Zech VulgClem 9:1  Onus verbi Domini in terra Hadrach et Damasci requiei ejus, quia Domini est oculus hominis et omnium tribuum Israël.
Zech KJV 9:1  The burden of the word of the Lord in the land of Hadrach, and Damascus shall be the rest thereof: when the eyes of man, as of all the tribes of Israel, shall be toward the Lord.
Zech DRC 9:2  Emath also in the borders thereof, and Tyre, and Sidon: for they have taken to themselves to be exceeding wise.
Zech VulgClem 9:2  Emath quoque in terminis ejus, et Tyrus, et Sidon : assumpserunt quippe sibi sapientiam valde.
Zech KJV 9:2  And Hamath also shall border thereby; Tyrus, and Zidon, though it be very wise.
Zech DRC 9:3  And Tyre hath built herself a strong hold, and heaped together silver as earth, and gold as the mire of the streets.
Zech KJV 9:3  And Tyrus did build herself a strong hold, and heaped up silver as the dust, and fine gold as the mire of the streets.
Zech DRC 9:4  Behold the Lord shall possess her, and shall strike her strength in the sea, and she shall be devoured with fire.
Zech VulgClem 9:4  Ecce Dominus possidebit eam : et percutiet in mari fortitudinem ejus, et hæc igni devorabitur.
Zech KJV 9:4  Behold, the Lord will cast her out, and he will smite her power in the sea; and she shall be devoured with fire.
Zech DRC 9:5  Ascalon shall see, and shall fear, and Gaza, and shall be very sorrowful: and Accaron, because her hope is confounded: and the king shall perish from Gaza, and Ascalon shall not be inhabited.
Zech KJV 9:5  Ashkelon shall see it, and fear; Gaza also shall see it, and be very sorrowful, and Ekron; for her expectation shall be ashamed; and the king shall perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited.
Zech DRC 9:6  And the divider shall sit in Azotus, and I will destroy the pride of the Philistines.
Zech VulgClem 9:6  Et sedebit separator in Azoto, et disperdam superbiam Philisthinorum.
Zech KJV 9:6  And a bastard shall dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines.
Zech DRC 9:7  And I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth: and even he shall be left to our God, and he shall be as a governor in Juda, and Accaron as a Jebusite.
Zech KJV 9:7  And I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth: but he that remaineth, even he, shall be for our God, and he shall be as a governor in Judah, and Ekron as a Jebusite.
Zech DRC 9:8  And I will encompass my house with them that serve me in war, going and returning, and the oppressor shall no more pass through them: for now I have seen with my eyes.
Zech KJV 9:8  And I will encamp about mine house because of the army, because of him that passeth by, and because of him that returneth: and no oppressor shall pass through them any more: for now have I seen with mine eyes.
Zech DRC 9:9  Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Sion, shout for joy, O daughter of Jerusalem: BEHOLD THY KING will come to thee, the just and saviour: he is poor, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt, the foal of an ass.
Zech VulgClem 9:9  Exsulta satis, filia Sion ; jubila, filia Jerusalem : ecce rex tuus veniet tibi justus, et salvator : ipse pauper, et ascendens super asinam et super pullum filium asinæ.
Zech KJV 9:9  Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
Zech DRC 9:10  And I will destroy the chariot out of Ephraim, and the horse out of Jerusalem, and the bow for war shall be broken: and he shall speak peace to the Gentiles, and his power shall be from sea to sea, and from the rivers even to the end of the earth.
Zech KJV 9:10  And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth.
Zech DRC 9:11  Thou also by the blood of thy testament hast sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit, wherein is no water.
Zech KJV 9:11  As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.
Zech DRC 9:12  Return to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope, I will render thee double as I declare today.
Zech VulgClem 9:12  Convertimini ad munitionem, vincti spei : hodie quoque annuntians duplicia reddam tibi.
Zech KJV 9:12  Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee;
Zech DRC 9:13  Because I have bent Juda for me as a bow, I have filled Ephraim: and I will raise up thy sons, O Sion, above thy sons, O Greece, and I will make thee as the sword of the mighty.
Zech VulgClem 9:13  Quoniam extendi mihi Judam quasi arcum : implevi Ephraim : et suscitabo filios tuos, Sion, super filios tuos, Græcia : et ponam te quasi gladium fortium.
Zech KJV 9:13  When I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mighty man.
Zech DRC 9:14  And the Lord God shall be seen over them, and his dart shall go forth as lightning: and the Lord God will sound the trumpet, and go in the whirlwind of the south.
Zech KJV 9:14  And the Lord shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and the Lord God shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south.
Zech DRC 9:15  The Lord of hosts will protect them: and they shall devour, and subdue with the stones of the sling: and drinking they shall be inebriated as it were with wine, and they shall be filled as bowls, and as the horns of the altar.
Zech KJV 9:15  The Lord of hosts shall defend them; and they shall devour, and subdue with sling stones; and they shall drink, and make a noise as through wine; and they shall be filled like bowls, and as the corners of the altar.
Zech DRC 9:16  And the Lord their God will save them in that day, as the flock of his people: for holy stones shall be lifted up over his land.
Zech VulgClem 9:16  Et salvabit eos Dominus Deus eorum in die illa, ut gregem populi sui, quia lapides sancti elevabuntur super terram ejus.
Zech KJV 9:16  And the Lord their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon his land.
Zech DRC 9:17  For what is the good thing of him, and what is his beautiful thing, but the corn of the elect, and wine springing forth virgins?
Zech KJV 9:17  For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! corn shall make the young men cheerful, and new wine the maids.
Chapter 10
Zech DRC 10:1  Ask ye of the Lord rain in the latter season, and the Lord will make snows, and will give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.
Zech VulgClem 10:1  Petite a Domino pluviam in tempore serotino, et Dominus faciet nives : et pluviam imbris dabit eis, singulis herbam in agro.
Zech KJV 10:1  Ask ye of the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain; so the Lord shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.
Zech DRC 10:2  For the idols have spoken what was unprofitable, and the diviners have seen a lie, and the dreamers have spoken vanity: they comforted in vain: therefore they were led away as a flock: they shall be afflicted, because they have no shepherd.
Zech KJV 10:2  For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd.
Zech DRC 10:3  My wrath is kindled against the shepherds, and I will visit upon the buck goats: for the Lord of hosts hath visited his flock, the house of Juda, and hath made them as the horse of his glory in the battle.
Zech VulgClem 10:3  Super pastores iratus est furor meus, et super hircos visitabo : quia visitavit Dominus exercituum gregem suum, domum Juda, et posuit eos quasi equum gloriæ suæ in bello.
Zech KJV 10:3  Mine anger was kindled against the shepherds, and I punished the goats: for the Lord of hosts hath visited his flock the house of Judah, and hath made them as his goodly horse in the battle.
Zech DRC 10:4  Out of him shall come forth the corner, out of him the pin, out of him the bow of battle, out of him every exacter together.
Zech VulgClem 10:4  Ex ipso angulus, ex ipso paxillus, ex ipso arcus prælii, ex ipso egredietur omnis exactor simul.
Zech KJV 10:4  Out of him came forth the corner, out of him the nail, out of him the battle bow, out of him every oppressor together.
Zech DRC 10:5  And they shall be as mighty men, treading under foot the mire of the ways in battle: and they shall fight, because the Lord is with them, and the riders of horses shall be confounded.
Zech VulgClem 10:5  Et erunt quasi fortes conculcantes lutum viarum in prælio, et bellabunt, quia Dominus cum eis : et confundentur ascensores equorum.
Zech KJV 10:5  And they shall be as mighty men, which tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle: and they shall fight, because the Lord is with them, and the riders on horses shall be confounded.
Zech DRC 10:6  And I will strengthen the house of Juda, and save the house of Joseph: and I will bring them back again, because I will have mercy on them: and they shall be as they were when I had not cast them off, for I am the Lord their God, and will hear them.
Zech KJV 10:6  And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them again to place them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the Lord their God, and will hear them.
Zech DRC 10:7  And they shall be as the valiant men of Ephraim, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine: and their children shall see, and shall rejoice, and their heart shall be joyful in the Lord.
Zech VulgClem 10:7  Et erunt quasi fortes Ephraim, et lætabitur cor eorum quasi a vino : et filii eorum videbunt, et lætabuntur, et exsultabit cor eorum in Domino.
Zech KJV 10:7  And they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine: yea, their children shall see it, and be glad; their heart shall rejoice in the Lord.
Zech DRC 10:8  I will whistle for them, and I will gather them together, because I have redeemed them: and I will multiply them as they were multiplied before.
Zech VulgClem 10:8  Sibilabo eis, et congregabo illos, quia redemi eos : et multiplicabo eos sicut ante fuerant multiplicati.
Zech KJV 10:8  I will hiss for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them: and they shall increase as they have increased.
Zech DRC 10:9  And I will sow them among peoples: and from afar they shall remember me: and they shall live with their children, and shall return.
Zech KJV 10:9  And I will sow them among the people: and they shall remember me in far countries; and they shall live with their children, and turn again.
Zech DRC 10:10  And I will bring them back out of the land of Egypt, and I will gather them from among the Assyrians: and will bring them to the land of Galaad, and Libanus, and place shall not be found for them.
Zech KJV 10:10  I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and place shall not be found for them.
Zech DRC 10:11  And he shall pass over the strait of the sea, and shall strike the waves in the sea, and all the depths of the river shall be confounded, and the pride of Assyria shall be humbled, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart.
Zech VulgClem 10:11  et transibit in maris freto, et percutiet in mari fluctus, et confundentur omnia profunda fluminis : et humiliabitur superbia Assur, et sceptrum Ægypti recedet.
Zech KJV 10:11  And he shall pass through the sea with affliction, and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up: and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart away.
Zech DRC 10:12  I will strengthen them in the Lord, and they shall walk in his name, saith the Lord.
Zech VulgClem 10:12  Confortabo eos in Domino, et in nomine ejus ambulabunt, dicit Dominus.
Zech KJV 10:12  And I will strengthen them in the Lord; and they shall walk up and down in his name, saith the Lord.
Chapter 11
Zech DRC 11:1  Open thy gates, O Libanus, and let fire devour thy cedars.
Zech VulgClem 11:1  Aperi, Libane, portas tuas, et comedat ignis cedros tuas.
Zech KJV 11:1  Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars.
Zech DRC 11:2  Howl, thou fir tree, for the cedar is fallen, for the mighty are laid waste: howl, ye oaks of Basan, because the fenced forest is cut down.
Zech VulgClem 11:2  Ulula, abies, quia cecidit cedrus, quoniam magnifici vastati sunt : ululate, quercus Basan, quoniam succisus est saltus munitus.
Zech KJV 11:2  Howl, fir tree; for the cedar is fallen; because the mighty are spoiled: howl, O ye oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down.
Zech DRC 11:3  The voice of the howling of the shepherds, because their glory is laid waste: the voice of the roaring of the lions, because the pride of the Jordan is spoiled.
Zech VulgClem 11:3  Vox ululatus pastorum, quia vastata est magnificentia eorum : vox rugitus leonum, quoniam vastata est superbia Jordanis.
Zech KJV 11:3  There is a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their glory is spoiled: a voice of the roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is spoiled.
Zech DRC 11:4  Thus saith the Lord my God: Feed the flock of the slaughter,
Zech VulgClem 11:4  Hæc dicit Dominus Deus meus : Pasce pecora occisionis,
Zech KJV 11:4  Thus saith the Lord my God; Feed the flock of the slaughter;
Zech DRC 11:5  Which they that possessed, slew, and repented not, and they sold them, saying: Blessed be the Lord, we are become rich: and their shepherds spared them not.
Zech KJV 11:5  Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: and they that sell them say, Blessed be the Lord; for I am rich: and their own shepherds pity them not.
Zech DRC 11:6  And I will no more spare the inhabitants of the land, saith the Lord: behold I will deliver the men, every one into his neighbour's hand, and into the hand of his king: and they shall destroy the land, and I will not deliver it out of their hand.
Zech KJV 11:6  For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the Lord: but, lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbour’s hand, and into the hand of his king: and they shall smite the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them.
Zech DRC 11:7  And I will feed the flock of slaughter for this, O ye poor of the flock. And I took unto me two rods, one I called Beauty, and the other I called a Cord, and I fed the flock.
Zech KJV 11:7  And I will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.
Zech DRC 11:8  And I cut off three shepherds in one month, and my soul was straitened in their regard: for their soul also varied in my regard.
Zech VulgClem 11:8  Et succidi tres pastores in mense uno, et contracta est anima mea in eis, siquidem et anima eorum variavit in me.
Zech KJV 11:8  Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me.
Zech DRC 11:9  And I said: I will not feed you: that which dieth, let it die: and that which is cut off, let it be cut off: and let the rest devour every one the flesh of his neighbour.
Zech KJV 11:9  Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another.
Zech DRC 11:10  And I took my rod that was called Beauty, and I cut it asunder to make void my covenant, which I had made with all people.
Zech KJV 11:10  And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people.
Zech DRC 11:11  And it was made void in that day: and so the poor of the flock that keep for me, understood that it is the word of the Lord.
Zech VulgClem 11:11  Et in irritum deductum est in die illa : et cognoverunt sic pauperes gregis, qui custodiunt mihi, quia verbum Domini est.
Zech KJV 11:11  And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the Lord.
Zech DRC 11:12  And I said to them: If it be good in your eyes, bring hither my wages: and if not, be quiet. And they weighed for my wages thirty pieces of silver.
Zech KJV 11:12  And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.
Zech DRC 11:13  And the Lord said to me: Cast it to the statuary, a handsome price, that I was prized at by them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and I cast them into the house of the Lord to the statuary.
Zech KJV 11:13  And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord.
Zech DRC 11:14  And I cut off my second rod that was called a Cord, that I might break the brotherhood between Juda and Israel.
Zech KJV 11:14  Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.
Zech DRC 11:15  And the Lord said to me: Take to thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.
Zech VulgClem 11:15  Et dixit Dominus ad me : Adhuc sume tibi vasa pastoris stulti.
Zech KJV 11:15  And the Lord said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.
Zech DRC 11:16  For behold I will raise up a shepherd in the land, who shall not visit what is forsaken, nor seek what is scattered, nor heal what is broken, nor nourish that which standeth, and he shall eat the flesh of the fat ones, and break their hoofs.
Zech KJV 11:16  For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces.
Zech DRC 11:17  O shepherd, and idol, that forsaketh the flock: the sword upon his arm and upon his right eye: his arm shall quite wither away, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.
Zech VulgClem 11:17  O pastor, et idolum derelinquens gregem : gladius super brachium ejus, et super oculum dextrum ejus : brachium ejus ariditate siccabitur, et oculus dexter ejus tenebrescens obscurabitur.
Zech KJV 11:17  Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.
Chapter 12
Zech DRC 12:1  The burden of the word of the Lord upon Israel. Thus saith the Lord, who stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundations of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man in him:
Zech VulgClem 12:1  Onus verbi Domini super Israël. Dicit Dominus extendens cælum, et fundans terram, et fingens spiritum hominis in eo :
Zech KJV 12:1  The burden of the word of the Lord for Israel, saith the Lord, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.
Zech DRC 12:2  Behold I will make Jerusalem a lintel of surfeiting to all the people round about: and Juda also shall be in the siege against Jerusalem.
Zech VulgClem 12:2  Ecce ego ponam Jerusalem superliminare crapulæ omnibus populis in circuitu : sed et Juda erit in obsidione contra Jerusalem.
Zech KJV 12:2  Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
Zech DRC 12:3  And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone to all people: all that shall lift it up shall be rent and torn, and all the kingdoms of the earth shall be gathered together against her.
Zech VulgClem 12:3  Et erit : in die illa ponam Jerusalem lapidem oneris cunctis populis : omnes qui levabunt eam concisione lacerabuntur, et colligentur adversus eam omnia regna terræ.
Zech KJV 12:3  And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
Zech DRC 12:4  In that day, saith the Lord, I will strike every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open my eyes upon the house of Juda, and will strike every horse of the nations with blindness.
Zech VulgClem 12:4  In die illa, dicit Dominus, percutiam omnem equum in stuporem, et ascensorem ejus in amentiam : et super domum Juda aperiam oculos meos, et omnem equum populorum percutiam cæcitate.
Zech KJV 12:4  In that day, saith the Lord, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness.
Zech DRC 12:5  And the governors of Juda shall say in their heart: Let the inhabitants of Jerusalem be strengthened for me in the Lord of hosts, their God.
Zech VulgClem 12:5  Et dicent duces Juda in corde suo : Confortentur mihi habitatores Jerusalem in Domino exercituum, Deo eorum !
Zech KJV 12:5  And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the Lord of hosts their God.
Zech DRC 12:6  In that day I will make the governors of Juda like a furnace of fire amongst wood, and as a firebrand amongst hay: and they shall devour all the people round about, to the right hand, and to the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place in Jerusalem.
Zech KJV 12:6  In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.
Zech DRC 12:7  And the Lord shall save the tabernacles of Juda, as in the beginning: that the house of David, and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, may not boast and magnify themselves against Juda.
Zech VulgClem 12:7  Et salvabit Dominus tabernacula Juda, sicut in principio, ut non magnifice glorietur domus David, et gloria habitantium Jerusalem contra Judam.
Zech KJV 12:7  The Lord also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah.
Zech DRC 12:8  In that day shall the Lord protect the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and he that hath offended among them in that day shall be as David: and the house of David, as that of God, as an angel of the Lord in their sight.
Zech VulgClem 12:8  In die illa proteget Dominus habitatores Jerusalem : et erit qui offenderit ex eis in die illa quasi David, et domus David quasi Dei, sicut angelus Domini in conspectu eorum.
Zech KJV 12:8  In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them.
Zech DRC 12:9  And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
Zech VulgClem 12:9  Et erit in die illa : quæram conterere omnes gentes quæ veniunt contra Jerusalem.
Zech KJV 12:9  And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
Zech DRC 12:10  And I will pour out upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace, and of prayers: and they shall look upon me, whom they have pierced: and they shall mourn for him as one mourneth for an only son, and they shall grieve over him, as the manner is to grieve for the death of the firstborn.
Zech KJV 12:10  And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
Zech DRC 12:11  In that day there shall be a great lamentation in Jerusalem like the lamentation of Adadremmon in the plain of Mageddon.
Zech VulgClem 12:11  In die illa, magnus erit planctus in Jerusalem, sicut planctus Adadremmon in campo Mageddon.
Zech KJV 12:11  In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.
Zech DRC 12:12  And the land shall mourn: families and families apart: the families of the house of David apart, and their women apart:
Zech VulgClem 12:12  Et planget terra : familiæ et familiæ seorsum : familiæ domus David seorsum, et mulieres eorum seorsum :
Zech KJV 12:12  And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart;
Zech DRC 12:13  The families of the house of Nathan apart, and their women apart: the families of the house of Levi apart, and their women apart: the families of Semei apart, and their women apart.
Zech VulgClem 12:13  familiæ domus Nathan seorsum, et mulieres eorum seorsum : familiæ domus Levi seorsum, et mulieres eorum seorsum : familiæ Semei seorsum, et mulieres eorum seorsum :
Zech KJV 12:13  The family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart; the family of Shimei apart, and their wives apart;
Zech DRC 12:14  All the rest of the families, families and families apart, and their women apart.
Zech VulgClem 12:14  omnes familiæ reliquæ, familiæ et familiæ seorsum, et mulieres eorum seorsum.
Zech KJV 12:14  All the families that remain, every family apart, and their wives apart.
Chapter 13
Zech DRC 13:1  In that day there shall be a fountain open to the house of David, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem: for the washing of the sinner, and of the unclean woman.
Zech VulgClem 13:1  In die illa erit fons patens domui David et habitantibus Jerusalem, in ablutionem peccatoris et menstruatæ.
Zech KJV 13:1  In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.
Zech DRC 13:2  And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord of hosts, that I will destroy the names of idols out of the earth, and they shall be remembered no more: and I will take away the false prophets, and the unclean spirit out of the earth.
Zech KJV 13:2  And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.
Zech DRC 13:3  And it shall come to pass, that when any man shall prophesy any more, his father and his mother that brought him into the world, shall say to him: Thou shalt not live: because thou hast spoken a lie in the name of the Lord. And his father, and his mother, his parents, shall thrust him through, when he shall prophesy.
Zech KJV 13:3  And it shall come to pass, that when any shall yet prophesy, then his father and his mother that begat him shall say unto him, Thou shalt not live; for thou speakest lies in the name of the Lord: and his father and his mother that begat him shall thrust him through when he prophesieth.
Zech DRC 13:4  And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be confounded, every one by his own vision, when he shall prophesy, neither shall they be clad with a garment of sackcloth, to deceive:
Zech VulgClem 13:4  Et erit : in die illa confundentur prophetæ, unusquisque ex visione sua cum prophetaverit : nec operientur pallio saccino, ut mentiantur :
Zech KJV 13:4  And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be ashamed every one of his vision, when he hath prophesied; neither shall they wear a rough garment to deceive:
Zech DRC 13:5  But he shall say: I am no prophet, I am a husbandman: for Adam is my example from my youth.
Zech VulgClem 13:5  sed dicet : Non sum propheta : homo agricola ego sum, quoniam Adam exemplum meum ab adolescentia mea.
Zech KJV 13:5  But he shall say, I am no prophet, I am an husbandman; for man taught me to keep cattle from my youth.
Zech DRC 13:6  And they shall say to him: What are these wounds in the midst of thy hands? And he shall say: With these I was wounded in the house of them that loved me.
Zech VulgClem 13:6  Et dicetur ei : Quid sunt plagæ istæ in medio manuum tuarum ? Et dicet : His plagatus sum in domo eorum qui diligebant me.
Zech KJV 13:6  And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.
Zech DRC 13:7  Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that cleaveth to me, saith the Lord of hosts: strike the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn my hand to the little ones.
Zech KJV 13:7  Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the Lord of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.
Zech DRC 13:8  And there shall be in all the earth, saith the Lord, two parts in it shall be scattered, and shall perish: but the third part shall be left therein.
Zech VulgClem 13:8  Et erunt in omni terra, dicit Dominus : partes duæ in ea dispergentur, et deficient : et tertia pars relinquetur in ea.
Zech KJV 13:8  And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
Zech DRC 13:9  And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined: and I will try them as gold is tried. They shall call on my name, and I will hear them. I will say: Thou art my people: and they shall say: The Lord is my God.
Zech KJV 13:9  And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.
Chapter 14
Zech DRC 14:1  Behold the days of the Lord shall come, and thy spoils shall be divided in the midst of thee.
Zech VulgClem 14:1  Ecce venient dies Domini, et dividentur spolia tua in medio tui.
Zech KJV 14:1  Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
Zech DRC 14:2  And I will gather all nations to Jerusalem to battle, and the city shall be taken, and the houses shall be rifled, and the women shall be defiled: and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the rest of the people shall not be taken away out of the city.
Zech KJV 14:2  For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
Zech DRC 14:3  Then the Lord shall go forth, and shall fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
Zech VulgClem 14:3  Et egredietur Dominus, et præliabitur contra gentes illas, sicut præliatus est in die certaminis.
Zech KJV 14:3  Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
Zech DRC 14:4  And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is over against Jerusalem towards the east: and the mount of Olives shall be divided in the midst thereof to the east, and to the west with a very great opening, and half of the mountain shall be separated to the north, and half thereof to the south.
Zech KJV 14:4  And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
Zech DRC 14:5  And you shall flee to the valley of those mountains, for the valley of the mountains shall be joined even to the next, and you shall flee as you fled from the face of the earthquake in the days of Ozias king of Juda: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with him.
Zech VulgClem 14:5  Et fugietis ad vallem montium eorum, quoniam conjungetur vallis montium usque ad proximum : et fugietis sicut fugistis a facie terræmotus in diebus Oziæ regis Juda : et veniet Dominus Deus meus, omnesque sancti cum eo.
Zech KJV 14:5  And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
Zech DRC 14:6  And it shall come to pass in that day, that there shall be no light, but cold and frost.
Zech KJV 14:6  And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:
Zech DRC 14:7  And there shall be one day, which is known to the Lord, not day nor night: and in the time of the evening there shall be light:
Zech VulgClem 14:7  Et erit dies una quæ nota est Domino, non dies neque nox : et in tempore vesperi erit lux.
Zech KJV 14:7  But it shall be one day which shall be known to the Lord, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.
Zech DRC 14:8  And it shall come to pass in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem: half of them to the east sea, and half of them to the last sea: they shall be in summer and in winter.
Zech KJV 14:8  And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
Zech DRC 14:9  And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day there shall be one Lord, and his name shall be one.
Zech VulgClem 14:9  Et erit Dominus rex super omnem terram : in die illa erit Dominus unus, et erit nomen ejus unum.
Zech KJV 14:9  And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one.
Zech DRC 14:10  And all the land shall return even to the desert, from the hill to Remmon to the south of Jerusalem: and she shall be exalted, and shall dwell in her own place, from the gate of Benjamin even to the place of the former gate, and even to the gate of the corners: and from the tower of Hananeel even to the king's winepresses.
Zech KJV 14:10  All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin’s gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king’s winepresses.
Zech DRC 14:11  And people shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more an anathema: but Jerusalem shall sit secure.
Zech KJV 14:11  And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.
Zech DRC 14:12  And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord shall strike all nations that have fought against Jerusalem: the flesh of every one shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.
Zech VulgClem 14:12  Et hæc erit plaga qua percutiet Dominus omnes gentes quæ pugnaverunt adversus Jerusalem : tabescet caro uniuscujusque stantis super pedes suos : et oculi ejus contabescent in foraminibus suis, et lingua eorum contabescet in ore suo.
Zech KJV 14:12  And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.
Zech DRC 14:13  In that day there shall be a great tumult from the Lord among them: and a man shall take the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall be clasped upon his neighbour's hand.
Zech VulgClem 14:13  In die illa erit tumultus Domini magnus in eis : et apprehendet vir manum proximi sui, et conseretur manus ejus super manum proximi sui.
Zech KJV 14:13  And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the Lord shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.
Zech DRC 14:14  And even Juda shall fight against Jerusalem: and the riches of all nations round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and garments in great abundance.
Zech VulgClem 14:14  Sed et Judas pugnabit adversus Jerusalem : et congregabuntur divitiæ omnium gentium in circuitu, aurum, et argentum, et vestes multæ satis.
Zech KJV 14:14  And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and apparel, in great abundance.
Zech DRC 14:15  And the destruction of the horse, and of the mule, and of the camel, and of the ass, and of all the beasts, that shall be in those tents, shall be like this destruction.
Zech VulgClem 14:15  Et sic erit ruina equi, et muli, et cameli, et asini, et omnium jumentorum quæ fuerint in castris illis, sicut ruina hæc.
Zech KJV 14:15  And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel, and of the ass, and of all the beasts that shall be in these tents, as this plague.
Zech DRC 14:16  And all they that shall be left of all nations that came against Jerusalem, shall go up from year to year, to adore the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Zech KJV 14:16  And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Zech DRC 14:17  And it shall come to pass, that he that shall not go up of the families of the land to Jerusalem, to adore the King, the Lord of hosts, there shall be no rain upon them.
Zech KJV 14:17  And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
Zech DRC 14:18  And if the family of Egypt go not up nor come: neither shall it be upon them, but there shall be destruction wherewith the Lord will strike all nations that will not go up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Zech KJV 14:18  And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the Lord will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Zech DRC 14:19  This shall be the sin of Egypt, and this the sin of all nations, that will not go up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Zech KJV 14:19  This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Zech DRC 14:20  In that day that which is upon the bridle of the horse shall be holy to the Lord: and the caldrons in the house of the Lord shall be as the phials before the altar.
Zech VulgClem 14:20  In die illa, erit quod super frenum equi est, sanctum Domino : et erunt lebetes in domo Domini quasi phialæ coram altari.
Zech KJV 14:20  In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE Lord; and the pots in the Lord’s house shall be like the bowls before the altar.
Zech DRC 14:21  And every caldron in Jerusalem and Juda shall be sanctified to the Lord of hosts: and all that sacrifice shall come, and take of them, and shall seethe in them: and the merchant shall be no more in the house of the Lord of hosts in that day.
Zech KJV 14:21  Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the Lord of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the Lord of hosts.
