Reve | ISV | 1:10 | I came to be in the Spirit on the Day of the Lord, when I heard a loud voice behind me like a trumpet,
Reve | ISV | 1:11 | saying, “Write on a scroll what you see, and send it to the seven churches: Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.”
Reve | ISV | 1:12 | Then I turned to see the voice that was talking to me, and when I turned I saw seven gold lampstands.

Reve | ISV | 2:2 | ‘I know your works, your toil, and your endurance. I also know that you cannot tolerate evil people. You have tested those who call themselves apostles, but are not, and have found them to be false.
Reve | ISV | 2:5 | Therefore, remember how far you have fallen. Repent, and do the works you did at first. If you don't, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.
Reve | ISV | 2:7 | ‘Let the person who has an ear listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. To everyone who conquers I will give the privilege of eating from the tree of life that is in the paradise of God.’”

Reve | ISV | 2:10 | Don't be afraid of what you are going to suffer. Look! The devil is going to throw some of you into prison so that you may be tested. For ten days you will undergo suffering. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the victor's crown of life.
Reve | ISV | 2:11 | ‘Let the person who has an ear listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who conquers will never be hurt by the second death.’”

Reve | ISV | 2:14 | But I have a few things against you: You have there some who hold to the teaching of Balaam, the one who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the people of Israel so that they would eat food sacrificed to idols and practice immorality.
Reve | ISV | 2:16 | So repent. If you don't, I will come to you quickly and wage war against them with the sword of my mouth.
Reve | ISV | 2:17 | ‘Let the person who has an ear listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone. On the white stone is written a new name that no one knows except the person who receives it.’

Reve | ISV | 2:20 | But I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet and who teaches and leads my servants to practice immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols.
Reve | ISV | 2:22 | Look! I am going to throw her into a sickbed. Those who commit adultery with her will also have great suffering, unless they repent of her works.
Reve | ISV | 2:23 | I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am the one who searches minds and hearts. I will reward each of you as your works deserve.
Reve | ISV | 2:24 | ‘But as for the rest of you in Thyatira—you who do not hold on to this teaching and who have not learned what some people call the deep things of Satan—I won't lay on you any other burden.
Reve | ISV | 2:26 | To the person who conquers and continues to do my works to the end I will give authority over the nations.

Reve | ISV | 3:3 | So remember what you received and heard. Obey it, and repent. If you are not alert, I will come like a thief, and you won't know the time when I will come to you.
Reve | ISV | 3:4 | But you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me in white clothes because they are worthy.
Reve | ISV | 3:5 | The person who conquers in this way will wear white clothes, and I will never erase his name from the Book of Life. I will acknowledge his name in the presence of my Father and his angels.

Reve | ISV | 3:9 | I will make those who belong to the synagogue of Satan—those who claim to be Jews and aren't, but are lying—come and bow down at your feet. Then they will realize that I have loved you.

Reve | ISV | 3:16 | Since you are lukewarm and neither hot nor cold, I am going to spit you out of my mouth.
Reve | ISV | 3:17 | You say, “I am rich. I have become wealthy. I don't need anything.” Yet you don't realize that you are miserable, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked.
Reve | ISV | 3:18 | Therefore, I advise you to buy from me gold purified in fire so that you may be rich, white clothes to wear so that you may keep the shame of your nakedness from showing, and ointment to put on your eyes so that you may see.

Reve | ISV | 3:21 | To the one who conquers I will give a place to sit with me on my throne, just as I have conquered and have sat down with my Father on his throne.
Chapter 4
Reve | ISV | 4:1 | The Vision of God's ThroneAfter these things I saw a door standing open in heaven. The first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this.”
Reve | ISV | 4:2 | Instantly I was in the Spirit, and I saw a throne in heaven with a person seated on the throne.
Reve | ISV | 4:3 | The person sitting there looked like jasper and carnelian, and there was a rainbow around the throne that looked like an emerald.
Reve | ISV | 4:4 | Around the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and on these thrones sat twenty-four elders wearing white robes and gold victor's crowns on their heads.
Reve | ISV | 4:5 | Flashes of lightning, noises, and peals of thunder came from the throne. Burning in front of the throne were seven flaming torches, which are the seven spirits of God.
Reve | ISV | 4:6 | In front of the throne was something like a sea of glass as clear as crystal. In the center of the throne and on each side of the throne were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back.
Reve | ISV | 4:7 | The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature was like an ox, the third living creature had a face like a human, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle.
Reve | ISV | 4:8 | Each of the four living creatures had six wings and were full of eyes inside and out. Without stopping day or night they were singing, “Holy, holy, holyis the Lord God Almighty, who was, who is, and who is coming.”
Reve | ISV | 4:9 | Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to the one who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever,
Reve | ISV | 4:10 | the twenty-four elders bow down in front of the one who sits on the throne and worship the one who lives forever and ever. They throw their victor's crowns in front of the throne and say,
Chapter 5
Reve | ISV | 5:1 | The Vision of the Scroll with Seven SealsThen I saw in the right hand of the one who sits on the throne a scroll written on the inside and on the outside, sealed with seven seals.
Reve | ISV | 5:2 | I also saw a powerful angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?”
Reve | ISV | 5:3 | No one in heaven, on earth, or under the earth could open the scroll or look inside it.
Reve | ISV | 5:4 | I began to cry bitterly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or look inside it.
Reve | ISV | 5:5 | Then one of the elders said to me, “Stop crying. Look! The Lion from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered. He can open the scroll and its seven seals.”
Reve | ISV | 5:6 | The Vision of the Lamb Taking the ScrollThen I saw a lamb standing in the middle of the throne, the four living creatures, and the elders. He lookedThe Gk. lacks He looked like he had been slaughtered. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent into all the earth.
Reve | ISV | 5:8 | When the lamb had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders bowed down in front of him. Each held a harp and a gold bowl full of incense, the prayers of the saints.
Reve | ISV | 5:9 | They sang a new song: “You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were slaughtered. With your blood you purchased peopleThe Gk. lacks people for Godfrom every tribe, language, people, and nation.
Reve | ISV | 5:11 | The Vision of the Song of the LambThen I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels, the living creatures, and the elders surrounding the throne. They numbered ten thousands times ten thousand and thousands times thousands.
Reve | ISV | 5:12 | They sang with a loud voice, “Worthy is the lamb who was slaughteredto receive power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and praise!”
Reve | ISV | 5:13 | I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, and on the sea, and everything that is in them, saying, “To the one who sits on the throne and to the lambbe praise, honor, glory, and powerforever and ever!”
Chapter 6
Reve | ISV | 6:1 | The Vision of the First Seal OpenedThen I saw the lamb open the first of the seven seals. I heard one of the four living creatures say with a voice like thunder, “Go!”
Reve | ISV | 6:2 | Then I looked, and there was a white horse! Its rider had a bow, and a victor's crown had been given to him. He went out as a conqueror to conquer.
Reve | ISV | 6:3 | The Vision of the Second Seal OpenedWhen the lambLit. he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Go!”
Reve | ISV | 6:4 | A second horse went out. It was fiery red, and its rider was given permission to take peace away from the earth and to make people slaughter one another. So he was given a large sword.
Reve | ISV | 6:5 | The Vision of the Third Seal OpenedWhen the lambLit. he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Go!” I looked, and there was a black horse! Its rider held a scale in his hand.
Reve | ISV | 6:6 | I heard what sounded like a voice from among the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, or three quarts of barley for a denarius.A denarius was equivalent to a day's wage for a laborer. But don't damage the olive oil or the wine!”
Reve | ISV | 6:7 | The Vision of the Fourth Seal OpenedWhen the lambLit. he opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Go!”
Reve | ISV | 6:8 | I looked, and there was a pale horse! Its rider's name was Death, and HadesI.e. the realm of the dead followed him. They were given authority over one-fourth of the earth to kill people using wars, famines, plagues, and the wild animals of the earth.
Reve | ISV | 6:9 | The Vision of the Fifth Seal OpenedWhen the lambLit. he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slaughtered because of the word of God and the testimony they had given.
Reve | ISV | 6:10 | They cried out in a loud voice, “Holy and true Sovereign, how long will it be before you judge and take revenge on those living on the earth who shed our blood?”
Reve | ISV | 6:11 | Each of them was given a white robe. They were told to rest a little longer until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers was completed, who would be killed as they had been killed.
Reve | ISV | 6:12 | The Vision of the Sixth Seal OpenedThen I saw the lambLit. him open the sixth seal. There was a powerful earthquake. The sun turned as black as sackcloth made of hair, and the full moon turned as red as blood.Lit. became like blood

Reve | ISV | 6:14 | The sky vanished like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved from its place.
Reve | ISV | 6:15 | Then the kings of the earth, the important people, the generals, the rich, the powerful, and all the slaves and free people hid themselves in caves and among the rocks in the mountains.

Chapter 7
Reve | ISV | 7:1 | The Vision of the Sealing of 144,000 PeopleAfter this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth. They were holding back the four winds of the earth so that no wind could blow on the land, on the sea, or on any tree.
Reve | ISV | 7:2 | I saw another angel coming from the east having the seal of the living God. He cried out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been permitted to harm the land and sea,
Reve | ISV | 7:3 | “Don't harm the land, the sea, or the trees until we have marked the servants of our God with a seal on their foreheads.”
Reve | ISV | 7:4 | I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000. Those who were sealed were from every tribe of Israel:
Reve | ISV | 7:5 | 12,000 from the tribe of Judah were sealed, 12,000 from the tribe of Reuben, 12,000 from the tribe of Gad,
Reve | ISV | 7:6 | 12,000 from the tribe of Asher, 12,000 from the tribe of Naphtali, 12,000 from the tribe of Manasseh,
Reve | ISV | 7:7 | 12,000 from the tribe of Simeon, 12,000 from the tribe of Levi, 12,000 from the tribe of Issachar,
Reve | ISV | 7:8 | 12,000 from the tribe of Zebulun, 12,000 from the tribe of Joseph, and 12,000 from the tribe of Benjamin were sealed.
Reve | ISV | 7:9 | The Vision of Tribulation SaintsAfter these things I looked, and there was a large crowd that no one was able to count! They were from every nation, tribe, people, and language. They were standing in front of the throne and the lamb and were wearing white robes, with palm branches in their hands.
Reve | ISV | 7:10 | They cried out in a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God,who sits on the throne, and to the lamb!”
Reve | ISV | 7:11 | All the angels stood around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell on their faces in front of the throne and worshiped God,
Reve | ISV | 7:12 | saying, “Amen! Praise, glory, wisdom, thanks, honor, power, and strengthbe to our God forever and ever! Amen!”
Reve | ISV | 7:13 | Then one of the elders said to me, “Who are these people wearing white robes, and where did they come from?”
Reve | ISV | 7:14 | I said to him, “Sir, you know.”Then he told me, “These are the people who are coming out of the terrible suffering.Or great tribulation They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the lamb.
Reve | ISV | 7:15 | That is why: “They are in front of the throne of Godand worshipOr serve him night and day in his temple. The one who sits on the throne will shelter them.
Reve | ISV | 7:16 | They will never be hungry or thirsty again.Neither the sun nor any burning heat will ever strike them,
Chapter 8
Reve | ISV | 8:1 | The Vision of the Seventh Seal OpenedWhen the lambLit. he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
Reve | ISV | 8:2 | The Vision of Seven Angels Given Seven TrumpetsThen I saw the seven angels who stand in God's presence, and seven trumpets were given to them.
Reve | ISV | 8:3 | Another angel came with a gold censer and stood at the altar. He was given a large quantity of incense to offer on the gold altar before the throne, along with the prayers of all the saints.
Reve | ISV | 8:4 | The smoke from the incense and the prayers of the saints went up from the angel's hand to God.
Reve | ISV | 8:5 | The angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it on the earth. Then there were peals of thunder, noises, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake.
Reve | ISV | 8:7 | The Vision of the First Four TrumpetsWhen the first angel blew his trumpet, hail and fire were mixed with blood and thrown on the earth. One-third of the earth was burned up, one-third of the trees was burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.
Reve | ISV | 8:8 | When the second angel blew his trumpet, something like a huge mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea. One-third of the sea turned into blood,
Reve | ISV | 8:9 | one-third of the creatures that were living in the sea died, and one-third of the ships was destroyed.
Reve | ISV | 8:10 | When the third angel blew his trumpet, a huge star blazing like a torch fell from heaven. It fell on one-third of the rivers and on the springs of water.
Reve | ISV | 8:11 | The name of the star is Wormwood. One-third of the water turned into wormwood, and many people died from the water because it had turned bitter.
Reve | ISV | 8:12 | When the fourth angel blew his trumpet, one-third of the sun, one-third of the moon, and one-third of the stars were struck so that one-third of them turned dark. One-third of the day was kept from shining, and also the night.
Chapter 9
Reve | ISV | 9:1 | The Vision of the Fifth TrumpetWhen the fifth angel blew his trumpet, I saw a star that had fallen to earth from the sky.Or from heaven The starLit. It was given the key to the shaft of the bottomless pit.
Reve | ISV | 9:2 | It opened the shaft of the bottomless pit, and smoke came out of the shaft like the smoke from a large furnace. The sun and the air were darkened with the smoke from the shaft.
Reve | ISV | 9:3 | Locusts came out of the smoke onto the earth, and they were given power like the power of earthly scorpions.
Reve | ISV | 9:4 | They were told not to harm the grass on the earth, any green plant, or any tree. They could harmThe Gk. lacks They could harm only the people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.
Reve | ISV | 9:5 | They were not allowed to kill them, but were only allowedThe Gk. lacks were only allowed to torture them for five months. Their torture was like the pain of a scorpion when it stings someone.
Reve | ISV | 9:6 | In those days people will look for death and never find it. They will long to die, but death will escape them.
Reve | ISV | 9:7 | The locusts looked like horses prepared for battle. On their heads were victor's crowns that looked like gold, and their faces were like human faces.
Reve | ISV | 9:9 | They had breastplates like iron, and the noise of their wings was like the roar of chariots with many horses rushing into battle.
Reve | ISV | 9:10 | They had tails and stingers like scorpions, and they had the power to hurt people with their tails for five months.
Reve | ISV | 9:11 | They had the angel of the bottomless pit ruling over them as king. In Hebrew he is called Abaddon,I.e. Destruction and in Greek he is called Apollyon.I.e. Destroyer
Reve | ISV | 9:12 | The first catastrophe is over. After these things there are still two more catastrophes to come.
Reve | ISV | 9:13 | The Vision of the Sixth TrumpetWhen the sixth angel blew his trumpet, I heard a voice from the fourOther mss. lack four horns of the gold altar in front of God.
Reve | ISV | 9:14 | It said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are held at the great Euphrates River.”
Reve | ISV | 9:15 | So the four angels who were ready for that hour, day, month, and year were released to kill one-third of humanity.
Reve | ISV | 9:16 | The number of cavalry troops was 200,000,000. I heard how many there were.Lit. heard their number
Reve | ISV | 9:17 | This was how I saw the horses in my vision: The riders wore breastplates that had the color of fire, sapphire, and sulfur. The heads of the horses were like lions’ heads, and fire, smoke, and sulfur came out of their mouths.
Reve | ISV | 9:18 | By these three plagues—the fire, the smoke, and the sulfur that came out of their mouths—one-third of humanity was killed.
Reve | ISV | 9:19 | For the power of these horses is in their mouths and their tails. Their tails have heads like snakes, which they use to inflict pain.
Reve | ISV | 9:20 | The rest of the people who survived these plagues did not repent of the works of their hands or stop worshiping demons and idols made of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood, which cannot see, hear, or walk.
Chapter 10
Reve | ISV | 10:1 | The Vision of the Powerful AngelThen I saw another powerful angel come down from heaven. He was dressed in a cloud, and there was a rainbow over his head. His face was like the sun, and his legs were like columns of fire.
Reve | ISV | 10:2 | He held a small, opened scroll in his hand. Setting his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land,
Reve | ISV | 10:3 | he shouted in a loud voice as a lion roars. When he shouted, the seven thunders spoke with voices of their own.
Reve | ISV | 10:4 | When the seven thunders spoke, I was going to write, but I heard a voice from heaven say, “Seal up what the seven thunders have said, and don't write it down.”
Reve | ISV | 10:5 | Then the angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven.
Reve | ISV | 10:6 | He swore an oath by the one who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and everything in it, the earth and everything in it, and the sea and everything in it: “There will be no more delay.
Reve | ISV | 10:7 | In the days when the seventh angel is ready to blow his trumpet, the secret of God will be fulfilled, as he had announced to his servants, the prophets.”
Reve | ISV | 10:8 | Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me again, saying, “Go and take the opened scroll from the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land.”
Reve | ISV | 10:9 | So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the small scroll. He said to me, “Take it and eat it. It will be bitter in your stomach, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth.”
Reve | ISV | 10:10 | So I took the small scroll from the angel's hand and ate it. It was as sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it, my stomach was bitter.
Chapter 11
Reve | ISV | 11:1 | The Vision of the Two WitnessesThen I was given a stick like a measuring rod. I was told, “Stand up and measure the temple of God and the altar, and countThe Gk. lacks count those who worship there.
Reve | ISV | 11:2 | But don't measure the courtyard outside the temple. Leave that out, because it is given to the nations, and they will trample the Holy CityI.e. Jerusalem for forty-two months.
Reve | ISV | 11:3 | I will give my two witnesses who wear sackcloth the authority to prophesy for 1,260 days.”

Reve | ISV | 16:19 | The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. God remembered to give Babylon the Great the cup of wine filled with the fury of his wrath.

Reve | ISV | 18:7 | Just as she glorified herself and lived in luxury,so give her just as much torture and misery. In her heart she says,‘I am a queen on a throne, not a widow.I will never see misery.’
Reve | ISV | 18:8 | For this reason her plagues of death, misery, and famine will come in a single day. She will be burned up in a fire, because powerful is the Lord God who judges her.”
