Chapter 1
Dani DRC 1:1  In the third year of the reign of Joakim, king of Juda, Nabuchodonosor, king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem, and beseiged it.
Dani KJV 1:1  In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it.
Dani VulgClem 1:1  Anno tertio regni Joakim regis Juda, venit Nabuchodonosor, rex Babylonis, in Jerusalem, et obsedit eam :
Dani DRC 1:2  And the Lord delivered into his hands Joakim, the king of Juda, and part of the vessels of the house of God: and he carried them away into the land of Sennaar, to the house of his god, and the vessels he brought into the treasure house of his god.
Dani KJV 1:2  And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God: which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.
Dani VulgClem 1:2  et tradidit Dominus in manu ejus Joakim, regem Juda, et partem vasorum domus Dei : et asportavit ea in terram Sennaar in domum dei sui, et vasa intulit in domum thesauri dei sui.
Dani DRC 1:3  And the king spoke to Asphenez, the master of the eunuchs, that he should bring in some of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes,
Dani KJV 1:3  And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king’s seed, and of the princes;
Dani DRC 1:4  Children in whom there was no blemish, well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, acute in knowledge, and instructed in science, and such as might stand in the king's palace, that he might teach them the learning, and tongue of the Chaldeans.
Dani KJV 1:4  Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.
Dani DRC 1:5  And the king appointed them a daily provision, of his own meat, and of the wine of which he drank himself, that being nourished three years, afterwards they might stand before the king.
Dani KJV 1:5  And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king’s meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.
Dani DRC 1:6  Now there was among them of the children of Juda, Daniel, Ananias, Misael, and Azarias.
Dani KJV 1:6  Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:
Dani VulgClem 1:6  Fuerunt ergo inter eos de filiis Juda, Daniel, Ananias, Misaël, et Azarias.
Dani DRC 1:7  And the master of the eunuchs gave them names: to Daniel, Baltassar: to Ananias, Sidrach: to Misael, Misach: and to Azarias, Abdenago.
Dani KJV 1:7  Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abed–nego.
Dani VulgClem 1:7  Et imposuit eis præpositus eunuchorum nomina : Danieli, Baltassar ; Ananiæ, Sidrach ; Misaëli, Misach ; et Azariæ, Abdenago.
Dani DRC 1:8  But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not be defiled with the king's table, nor with the wine which he drank: and he requested the master of the eunuchs that he might not be defiled.
Dani KJV 1:8  But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
Dani DRC 1:9  And God gave to Daniel grace and mercy in the sight of the prince of the eunuchs.
Dani KJV 1:9  Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.
Dani DRC 1:10  And the prince of the eunuchs said to Daniel: I fear my lord, the king, who hath appointed you meat and drink: who if he should see your faces leaner than those of the other youths, your equals, you shall endanger my head to the king.
Dani KJV 1:10  And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king.
Dani VulgClem 1:10  Et ait princeps eunuchorum ad Danielem : Timeo ego dominum meum regem, qui constituit vobis cibum et potum : qui si viderit vultus vestros macilentiores præ ceteris adolescentibus coævis vestris, condemnabitis caput meum regi.
Dani DRC 1:11  And Daniel said to Malasar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had appointed over Daniel, Ananias, Misael, and Azarias:
Dani KJV 1:11  Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,
Dani VulgClem 1:11  Et dixit Daniel ad Malasar, quem constituerat princeps eunuchorum super Danielem, Ananiam, Misaëlem, et Azariam :
Dani DRC 1:12  Try, I beseech thee, thy servants for ten days, and let pulse be given us to eat, and water to drink:
Dani KJV 1:12  Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink.
Dani DRC 1:13  And look upon our faces, and the faces of the children that eat of the king's meat: and as thou shalt see, deal with thy servants.
Dani KJV 1:13  Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king’s meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants.
Dani DRC 1:14  And when he had heard these words, he tried them for ten days.
Dani KJV 1:14  So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days.
Dani VulgClem 1:14  Qui, audito sermone hujuscemodi, tentavit eos diebus decem.
Dani DRC 1:15  And after ten days, their faces appeared fairer and fatter than all the children that ate of the king's meat.
Dani KJV 1:15  And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king’s meat.
Dani DRC 1:16  So Malasar took their portions, and the wine that they should drink: and he gave them pulse.
Dani KJV 1:16  Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse.
Dani VulgClem 1:16  Porro Malasar tollebat cibaria, et vinum potus eorum : dabatque eis legumina.
Dani DRC 1:17  And to these children God gave knowledge, and understanding in every book, and wisdom: but to Daniel the understanding also of all visions and dreams.
Dani KJV 1:17  As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.
Dani DRC 1:18  And when the days were ended, after which the king had ordered they should be brought in: the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nabuchodonosor.
Dani KJV 1:18  Now at the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar.
Dani VulgClem 1:18  Completis itaque diebus, post quos dixerat rex ut introducerentur, introduxit eos præpositus eunuchorum in conspectu Nabuchodonosor.
Dani DRC 1:19  And when the king had spoken to them, there were not found among them all such as Daniel, Ananias, Misael, and Azarias: and they stood in the king's presence.
Dani KJV 1:19  And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king.
Dani DRC 1:20  And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the diviners, and wise men, that were in all his kingdom.
Dani KJV 1:20  And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.
Dani DRC 1:21  And Daniel continued even to the first year of king Cyrus.
Dani KJV 1:21  And Daniel continued even unto the first year of king Cyrus.
Chapter 2
Dani DRC 2:1  In the second year of the reign of Nabuchodonosor, Nabuchodonosor had a dream, and his spirit was terrified, and his dream went out of his mind.
Dani KJV 2:1  And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him.
Dani DRC 2:2  Then the king commanded to call together the diviners and the wise men, and the magicians, and the Chaldeans: to declare to the king his dreams: so they came and stood before the king.
Dani KJV 2:2  Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.
Dani DRC 2:3  And the king said to them: I saw a dream: and being troubled in mind I know not what I saw.
Dani KJV 2:3  And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream.
Dani VulgClem 2:3  Et dixit ad eos rex : Vidi somnium, et mente confusus ignoro quid viderim.
Dani DRC 2:4  And the Chaldeans answered the king in Syriac: O king, live for ever: tell to thy servants thy dream, and we will declare the interpretation thereof.
Dani KJV 2:4  Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation.
Dani VulgClem 2:4  Responderuntque Chaldæi regi syriace : Rex, in sempiternum vive ! dic somnium servis tuis, et interpretationem ejus indicabimus.
Dani DRC 2:5  And the king, answering, said to the Chaldeans: The thing is gone out of my mind: unless you tell me the dream, and the meaning thereof, you shall be put to death, and your houses shall be confiscated.
Dani KJV 2:5  The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.
Dani VulgClem 2:5  Et respondens rex ait Chaldæis : Sermo recessit a me : nisi indicaveritis mihi somnium, et conjecturam ejus, peribitis vos, et domus vestræ publicabuntur.
Dani DRC 2:6  but if you tell the dream, and the meaning of it, you shall receive of me rewards, and gifts, and great honour: therefore, tell me the dream, and the interpretation thereof.
Dani KJV 2:6  But if ye shew the dream, and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour: therefore shew me the dream, and the interpretation thereof.
Dani VulgClem 2:6  Si autem somnium, et conjecturam ejus narraveritis, præmia, et dona, et honorem multum accipietis a me. Somnium igitur, et interpretationem ejus indicate mihi.
Dani DRC 2:7  They answered again and said: Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will declare the interpretation of it.
Dani KJV 2:7  They answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation of it.
Dani VulgClem 2:7  Responderunt secundo, atque dixerunt : Rex somnium dicat servis suis, et interpretationem illius indicabimus.
Dani DRC 2:8  The king answered and said: I know for certain, that you seek to gain time, since you know that the thing is gone from me.
Dani KJV 2:8  The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me.
Dani VulgClem 2:8  Respondit rex, et ait : Certe novi quod tempus redimitis, scientes quod recesserit a me sermo.
Dani DRC 2:9  If, therefore, you tell me not the dream, there is one sentence concerning you, that you have also framed a lying interpretation, and full of deceit, to speak before me till the time pass away. Tell me, therefore, the dream, that I may know that you also give a true interpretation thereof.
Dani KJV 2:9  But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof.
Dani DRC 2:10  Then the Chaldeans answered before the king, and said: There is no man upon earth, that can accomplish thy word, O king; neither doth any king, though great and mighty, ask such a thing of any diviner, or wise man, or Chaldean.
Dani KJV 2:10  The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king’s matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.
Dani DRC 2:11  For the thing that thou asketh, O king, is difficult: nor can any one be found that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose conversation is not with men.
Dani KJV 2:11  And it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.
Dani DRC 2:12  Upon hearing this, the king in fury, and in great wrath, commanded that all the wise men of Babylon should be put to death.
Dani KJV 2:12  For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.
Dani VulgClem 2:12  Quo audito, rex, in furore et in ira magna, præcepit ut perirent omnes sapientes Babylonis.
Dani DRC 2:13  And the decree being gone forth, the wise men were slain: and Daniel and his companions were sought for, to be put to death.
Dani KJV 2:13  And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain.
Dani VulgClem 2:13  Et egressa sententia, sapientes interficiebantur : quærebanturque Daniel et socii ejus, ut perirent.
Dani DRC 2:14  Then Daniel inquired concerning the law and the sentence, of Arioch, the general of the king's army, who was gone forth to kill the wise men of Babylon.
Dani KJV 2:14  Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king’s guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon:
Dani VulgClem 2:14  Tunc Daniel requisivit de lege atque sententia ab Arioch principe militiæ regis, qui egressus fuerat ad interficiendos sapientes Babylonis.
Dani DRC 2:15  And he asked him that had received the orders of the king, why so cruel a sentence was gone forth from the face of the king. And when Arioch had told the matter to Daniel,
Dani KJV 2:15  He answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, Why is the decree so hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.
Dani VulgClem 2:15  Et interrogavit eum, qui a rege potestatem acceperat, quam ob causam tam crudelis sententia a facie regis esset egressa. Cum ergo rem indicasset Arioch Danieli,
Dani DRC 2:16  Daniel went in, and desired of the king, that he would give him time to resolve the question, and declare it to the king.
Dani KJV 2:16  Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation.
Dani VulgClem 2:16  Daniel ingressus rogavit regem ut tempus daret sibi ad solutionem indicandam regi.
Dani DRC 2:17  And he went into his house, and told the matter to Ananias, and Misael, and Azarias, his companions:
Dani KJV 2:17  Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions:
Dani VulgClem 2:17  Et ingressus est domum suam, Ananiæque et Misaëli et Azariæ, sociis suis, indicavit negotium,
Dani DRC 2:18  To the end that they should ask mercy at the face of the God of heaven, concerning this secret, and that Daniel and his companions might not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
Dani KJV 2:18  That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
Dani DRC 2:19  Then was the mystery revealed to Daniel by a vision in the night: and Daniel blessed the God of heaven,
Dani KJV 2:19  Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
Dani DRC 2:20  And speaking, he said: Blessed be the name of the Lord from eternity and for evermore: for wisdom and fortitude are his.
Dani KJV 2:20  Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
Dani VulgClem 2:20  et locutus ait : Sit nomen Domini benedictum a sæculo et usque in sæculum : quia sapientia et fortitudo ejus sunt.
Dani DRC 2:21  And he changeth times and ages: taketh away kingdoms, and establisheth them: giveth wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to them that have understanding:
Dani KJV 2:21  And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
Dani VulgClem 2:21  Et ipse mutat tempora, et ætates : transfert regna, atque constituit : dat sapientiam sapientibus, et scientiam intelligentibus disciplinam.
Dani DRC 2:22  He revealeth deep and hidden things, and knoweth what is in darkness: and light is with him.
Dani KJV 2:22  He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
Dani DRC 2:23  To thee, O God of our fathers, I give thanks, and I praise thee: because thou hast given me wisdom and strength: and now thou hast shewn me what we desired of thee, for thou hast made known to us the king's discourse.
Dani KJV 2:23  I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king’s matter.
Dani VulgClem 2:23  Tibi, Deus patrum nostrorum, confiteor, teque laudo, quia sapientiam et fortitudinem dedisti mihi, et nunc ostendisti mihi quæ rogavimus te, quia sermonem regis aperuisti nobis.
Dani DRC 2:24  After this Daniel went in to Arioch, to whom the king had given orders to destroy the wise men of Babylon, and he spoke thus to him: Destroy not the wise men of Babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will tell the solution to the king.
Dani KJV 2:24  Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise men of Babylon: he went and said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise men of Babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will shew unto the king the interpretation.
Dani VulgClem 2:24  Post hæc Daniel ingressus ad Arioch, quem constituerat rex ut perderet sapientes Babylonis, sic ei locutus est : Sapientes Babylonis ne perdas : introduc me in conspectu regis, et solutionem regi narrabo.
Dani DRC 2:25  Then Arioch in haste brought in Daniel to the king, and said to him: I have found a man of the children of the captivity of Juda, that will resolve the question to the king.
Dani KJV 2:25  Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation.
Dani DRC 2:26  The king answered, and said to Daniel, whose name was Baltassar: Thinkest thou indeed that thou canst tell me the dream that I saw, and the interpretation thereof?
Dani KJV 2:26  The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?
Dani VulgClem 2:26  Respondit rex, et dixit Danieli, cujus nomen erat Baltassar : Putasne vere potes mihi indicare somnium, quod vidi, et interpretationem ejus ?
Dani DRC 2:27  And Daniel made answer before the king, and said: The secret that the king desireth to know, none of the wise men, or the philosophers, or the diviners, or the soothsayers, can declare to the king.
Dani KJV 2:27  Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;
Dani VulgClem 2:27  Et respondens Daniel coram rege, ait : Mysterium, quod rex interrogat, sapientes, magi, arioli, et aruspices nequeunt indicare regi :
Dani DRC 2:28  But there is a God in heaven that revealeth mysteries, who hath shewn to thee, O king Nabuchodonosor, what is to come to pass in the latter times. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these:
Dani KJV 2:28  But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;
Dani DRC 2:29  Thou, O king, didst begin to think in thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth mysteries shewed thee what shall come to pass.
Dani KJV 2:29  As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass.
Dani VulgClem 2:29  Tu, rex, cogitare cœpisti in strato tuo, quid esset futurum post hæc : et qui revelat mysteria, ostendit tibi quæ ventura sunt.
Dani DRC 2:30  To me also this secret is revealed, not by any wisdom that I have more than all men alive: but that the interpretation might be made manifest to the king, and thou mightest know the thought of thy mind.
Dani KJV 2:30  But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.
Dani DRC 2:31  Thou, O king, sawest, and behold there was as it were a great statue: this statue, which was great and high, tall of stature, stood before thee, and the look thereof was terrible.
Dani KJV 2:31  Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.
Dani VulgClem 2:31  Tu, rex, videbas, et ecce quasi statua una grandis : statua illa magna, et statura sublimis stabat contra te, et intuitus ejus erat terribilis.
Dani DRC 2:32  The head of this statue was of fine gold, but the breast and the arms of silver, and the belly and the thighs of brass.
Dani KJV 2:32  This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,
Dani DRC 2:33  And the legs of iron, the feet part of iron and part of clay.
Dani KJV 2:33  His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.
Dani VulgClem 2:33  tibiæ autem ferreæ : pedum quædam pars erat ferrea, quædam autem fictilis.
Dani DRC 2:34  Thus thou sawest, till a stone was cut out of a mountain without hands: and it struck the statue upon the feet thereof that were of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces.
Dani KJV 2:34  Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.
Dani DRC 2:35  Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of a summer's threshing floor, and they were carried away by the wind: and there was no place found for them: but the stone that struck the statue became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
Dani KJV 2:35  Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
Dani DRC 2:36  This is the dream: we will also tell the interpretation thereof before thee, O king.
Dani KJV 2:36  This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.
Dani VulgClem 2:36  Hoc est somnium : interpretationem quoque ejus dicemus coram te, rex.
Dani DRC 2:37  Thou art a king of kings: and the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, and strength, and power, and glory:
Dani KJV 2:37  Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.
Dani VulgClem 2:37  Tu rex regum es : et Deus cæli regnum, et fortitudinem, et imperium, et gloriam dedit tibi :
Dani DRC 2:38  And all places wherein the children of men, and the beasts of the field do dwell: he hath also given the birds of the air into thy hand, and hath put all things under thy power: thou, therefore, art the head of gold.
Dani KJV 2:38  And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.
Dani VulgClem 2:38  et omnia, in quibus habitant filii hominum, et bestiæ agri : volucres quoque cæli dedit in manu tua, et sub ditione tua universa constituit : tu es ergo caput aureum.
Dani DRC 2:39  And after thee shall rise up another kingdom, inferior to thee, of silver: and another third kingdom of brass, which shall rule over all the world.
Dani KJV 2:39  And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.
Dani VulgClem 2:39  Et post te consurget regnum aliud minus te argenteum : et regnum tertium aliud æreum, quod imperabit universæ terræ.
Dani DRC 2:40  And the fourth kingdom shall be as iron. As iron breaketh into pieces, and subdueth all things, so shall that break, and destroy all these.
Dani KJV 2:40  And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.
Dani VulgClem 2:40  Et regnum quartum erit velut ferrum : quomodo ferrum comminuit, et domat omnia, sic comminuet, et conteret omnia hæc.
Dani DRC 2:41  And whereas thou sawest the feet, and the toes, part of potter's clay, and part of iron: the kingdom shall be divided, but yet it shall take its origin from the iron, according as thou sawest the iron mixed with the miry clay.
Dani KJV 2:41  And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
Dani DRC 2:42  And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay: the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.
Dani KJV 2:42  And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.
Dani DRC 2:43  And whereas thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay, they shall be mingled indeed together with the seed of man, but they shall not stick fast one to another, as iron cannot be mixed with clay.
Dani KJV 2:43  And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
Dani DRC 2:44  But in the days of those kingdoms, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, and his kingdom shall not be delivered up to another people: and it shall break in pieces, and shall consume all these kingdoms: and itself shall stand for ever.
Dani KJV 2:44  And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
Dani DRC 2:45  According as thou sawest, that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and broke in pieces the clay and the iron, and the brass, and the silver, and the gold, the great God hath shewn the king what shall come to pass hereafter, and the dream is true, and the interpretation thereof is faithful.
Dani KJV 2:45  Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
Dani DRC 2:46  Then king Nabuchodonosor fell on his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer in sacrifice to him victims and incense.
Dani KJV 2:46  Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him.
Dani DRC 2:47  And the king spoke to Daniel, and said: Verily, your God is the God of gods, and Lord of kings, and a revealer of hidden things: seeing thou couldst discover this secret.
Dani KJV 2:47  The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.
Dani DRC 2:48  Then the king advanced Daniel to a high station, and gave him many and great gifts: and he made him governor over all the provinces of Babylon: and chief of the magistrates over all the wise men of Babylon.
Dani KJV 2:48  Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon.
Dani DRC 2:49  And Daniel requested of the king, and he appointed Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, over the works of the province of Babylon: but Daniel himself was in the king's palace.
Dani KJV 2:49  Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.
Chapter 3
Dani DRC 3:1  King Nabuchodonosor made a statue of gold, of sixty cubits high, and six cubits broad, and he set it up in the plain of Dura, of the province of Babylon.
Dani KJV 3:1  Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.
Dani VulgClem 3:1  Nabuchodonosor rex fecit statuam auream, altitudine cubitorum sexaginta, latitudine cubitorum sex, et statuit eam in campo Dura, provinciæ Babylonis.
Dani DRC 3:2  Then Nabuchodonosor, the king, sent to call together the nobles, the magistrates, and the judges, the captains, the rulers, and governors, and all the chief men of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the statue which king Nabuchodonosor had set up.
Dani KJV 3:2  Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
Dani DRC 3:3  Then the nobles, the magistrates, and the judges, the captains, and rulers, and the great men that were placed in authority, and all the princes of the provinces, were gathered together to come to the dedication of the statue, which king Nabuchodonosor had set up. And they stood before the statue which king Nabuchodonosor had set up.
Dani KJV 3:3  Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
Dani DRC 3:4  Then a herald cried with a strong voice: To you it is commanded, O nations, tribes and languages:
Dani KJV 3:4  Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages,
Dani VulgClem 3:4  et præco clamabat valenter : Vobis dicitur populis, tribubus, et linguis :
Dani DRC 3:5  That in the hour that you shall hear the sound of the trumpet, and of the flute, and of the harp, of the sackbut, and of the psaltery, and of the symphony, and of all kind of music, ye fall down and adore the golden statue which king Nabuchodonosor hath set up.
Dani KJV 3:5  That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up:
Dani VulgClem 3:5  in hora qua audieritis sonitum tubæ, et fistulæ, et citharæ, sambucæ, et psalterii, et symphoniæ, et universi generis musicorum, cadentes adorate statuam auream, quam constituit Nabuchodonosor rex.
Dani DRC 3:6  But if any man shall not fall down and adore, he shall the same hour be cast into a furnace of burning fire.
Dani KJV 3:6  And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
Dani VulgClem 3:6  Si quis autem non prostratus adoraverit, eadem hora mittetur in fornacem ignis ardentis.
Dani DRC 3:7  Upon this, therefore, at the time when all the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the flute, and the harp, of the sackbut, and the psaltery, of the symphony, and of all kind of music, all the nations, tribes, and languages fell down and adored the golden statue which king Nabuchodonosor had set up.
Dani KJV 3:7  Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
Dani DRC 3:8  And presently at that very time some Chaldeans came and accused the Jews,
Dani KJV 3:8  Wherefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and accused the Jews.
Dani VulgClem 3:8  Statimque in ipso tempore accedentes viri Chaldæi accusaverunt Judæos :
Dani DRC 3:9  And said to king Nabuchodonosor: O king, live for ever:
Dani KJV 3:9  They spake and said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for ever.
Dani VulgClem 3:9  dixeruntque Nabuchodonosor regi : Rex, in æternum vive !
Dani DRC 3:10  Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the trumpet, the flute, and the harp, of the sackbut, and the psaltery, of the symphony, and of all kind of music, shall prostrate himself, and adore the golden statue:
Dani KJV 3:10  Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image:
Dani VulgClem 3:10  tu, rex, posuisti decretum, ut omnis homo, qui audierit sonitum tubæ, fistulæ, et citharæ, sambucæ, et psalterii, et symphoniæ, et universi generis musicorum, prosternat se, et adoret statuam auream :
Dani DRC 3:11  And that if any man shall not fall down and adore, he should be cast into a furnace of burning fire.
Dani KJV 3:11  And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
Dani DRC 3:12  Now there are certain Jews, whom thou hast set over the works of the province of Babylon, Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago: these men, O king, have slighted thy decree: they worship not thy gods, nor do they adore the golden statue which thou hast set up.
Dani KJV 3:12  There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
Dani DRC 3:13  Then Nabuchodonosor in fury, and in wrath, commanded that Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago should be brought: who immediately were brought before the king.
Dani KJV 3:13  Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego. Then they brought these men before the king.
Dani DRC 3:14  And Nabuchodonosor, the king, spoke to them, and said: Is it true, O Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, that you do not worship my gods, nor adore the golden statue that I have set up?
Dani KJV 3:14  Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?
Dani DRC 3:15  Now, therefore, if you be ready, at what hour soever, you shall hear the sound of the trumpet, flute, harp, sackbut, and psaltery, and symphony, and of all kind of music, prostrate yourselves, and adore the statue which I have made: but if you do not adore, you shall be cast the same hour into the furnace of burning fire: and who is the God that shall deliver you out of my hand?
Dani KJV 3:15  Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?
Dani DRC 3:16  Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, answered, and said to king Nabuchodonosor: We have no occasion to answer thee concerning this matter.
Dani KJV 3:16  Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.
Dani VulgClem 3:16  Respondentes Sidrach, Misach, et Abdenago, dixerunt regi Nabuchodonosor : Non oportet nos de hac re respondere tibi.
Dani DRC 3:17  For behold our God, whom we worship, is able to save us from the furnace of burning fire, and to deliver us out of thy hands, O king.
Dani KJV 3:17  If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
Dani DRC 3:18  But if he will not, be it known to thee, O king, that we will not worship thy gods, nor adore the golden statue which thou hast set up.
Dani KJV 3:18  But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
Dani DRC 3:19  Then was Nabuchodonosor filled with fury: and the countenance of his face was changed against Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, and he commanded that the furnace should be heated seven times more than it had been accustomed to be heated.
Dani KJV 3:19  Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.
Dani DRC 3:20  And he commanded the strongest men that were in his army, to bind the feet of Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, and to cast them into the furnace of burning fire.
Dani KJV 3:20  And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.
Dani VulgClem 3:20  Et viris fortissimis de exercitu suo jussit ut ligatis pedibus Sidrach, Misach, et Abdenago, mitterent eos in fornacem ignis ardentis.
Dani DRC 3:21  And immediately these men were bound, and were cast into the furnace of burning fire, with their coats, and their caps, and their shoes, and their garments.
Dani KJV 3:21  Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
Dani DRC 3:22  For the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace was heated exceedingly. And the flame of the fire slew those men that had cast in Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago.
Dani KJV 3:22  Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego.
Dani VulgClem 3:22  nam jussio regis urgebat.
Dani DRC 3:23  But these three men, that is, Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, fell down bound in the midst of the furnace of burning fire.
Dani KJV 3:23  And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
Dani DRC 3:24  And they walked in the midst of the flame, praising God, and blessing the Lord.
Dani KJV 3:24  Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.
Dani VulgClem 3:24  Et ambulabant in medio flammæ, laudantes Deum, et benedicentes Domino.
Dani DRC 3:25  Then Azarias standing up, prayed in this manner, and opening his mouth in the midst of the fire, he said:
Dani KJV 3:25  He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
Dani VulgClem 3:25  Stans autem Azarias oravit sic, aperiensque os suum in medio ignis, ait :
Dani DRC 3:26  Blessed art thou, O Lord, the God of our fathers, and thy name is worthy of praise, and glorious for ever:
Dani KJV 3:26  Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, came forth of the midst of the fire.
Dani VulgClem 3:26  Benedictus es, Domine Deus patrum nostrorum, et laudabile, et gloriosum nomen tuum in sæcula :
Dani DRC 3:27  For thou art just in all that thou hast done to us, and all thy works are true, and thy ways right, and all thy judgments true.
Dani KJV 3:27  And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.
Dani VulgClem 3:27  quia justus es in omnibus, quæ fecisti nobis, et universa opera tua vera, et viæ tuæ rectæ, et omnia judicia tua vera.
Dani DRC 3:28  For thou hast executed true judgments in all the things that thou hast brought upon us, and upon Jerusalem, the holy city of our fathers: for according to truth and judgment, thou hast brought all these things upon us for our sins.
Dani KJV 3:28  Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.
Dani VulgClem 3:28  Judicia enim vera fecisti juxta omnia, quæ induxisti super nos, et super civitatem sanctam patrum nostrorum Jerusalem : quia in veritate et in judicio induxisti omnia hæc propter peccata nostra.
Dani DRC 3:29  For we have sinned, and committed iniquity, departing from thee: and we have trespassed in all things:
Dani KJV 3:29  Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.
Dani DRC 3:30  And we have not hearkened to thy commandments, nor have we observed nor done as thou hadst commanded us, that it might go well with us.
Dani KJV 3:30  Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, in the province of Babylon.
Dani DRC 3:31  Wherefore, all that thou hast brought upon us, and every thing that thou hast done to us, thou hast done in true judgment:
Dani KJV 3:31
Dani VulgClem 3:31  Omnia ergo, quæ induxisti super nos, et universa quæ fecisti nobis, in vero judicio fecisti ;
Dani DRC 3:32  And thou hast delivered us into the hands of our enemies that are unjust, and most wicked, and prevaricators, and to a king unjust, and most wicked beyond all that are upon the earth.
Dani KJV 3:32
Dani VulgClem 3:32  et tradidisti nos in manibus inimicorum nostrorum iniquorum, et pessimorum, prævaricatorumque, et regi injusto, et pessimo ultra omnem terram.
Dani DRC 3:33  And now we cannot open our mouths: we are become a shame, and a reproach to thy servants, and to them that worship thee.
Dani KJV 3:33
Dani DRC 3:34  Deliver us not up for ever, we beseech thee, for thy name's sake, and abolish not thy covenant.
Dani KJV 3:34
Dani VulgClem 3:34  Ne, quæsumus, tradas nos in perpetuum propter nomen tuum, et ne dissipes testamentum tuum :
Dani DRC 3:35  And take not away thy mercy from us, for the sake of Abraham, thy beloved, and Isaac, thy servant, and Israel, thy holy one:
Dani KJV 3:35
Dani DRC 3:36  To whom thou hast spoken, promising that thou wouldst multiply their seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand that is on the sea shore.
Dani KJV 3:36
Dani VulgClem 3:36  quibus locutus es pollicens quod multiplicares semen eorum sicut stellas cæli, et sicut arenam quæ est in littore maris ;
Dani DRC 3:37  For we, O Lord, are diminished more than any nation, and are brought low in all the earth this day for our sins.
Dani KJV 3:37
Dani VulgClem 3:37  quia, Domine, imminuti sumus plus quam omnes gentes, sumusque humiles in universa terra hodie propter peccata nostra.
Dani DRC 3:38  Neither is there at this time prince, or leader, or prophet, or holocaust, or sacrifice, or oblation, or incense, or place of first fruits before thee,
Dani KJV 3:38
Dani DRC 3:39  That we may find thy mercy: nevertheless, in a contrite heart and humble spirit let us be accepted.
Dani KJV 3:39
Dani DRC 3:40  As in holocausts of rams, and bullocks, and as in thousands of fat lambs: so let our sacrifice be made in thy sight this day, that it may please thee: for there is no confusion to them that trust in thee.
Dani KJV 3:40
Dani DRC 3:41  And now we follow thee with all our heart, and we fear thee, and seek thy face.
Dani KJV 3:41
Dani VulgClem 3:41  Et nunc sequimur te in toto corde ; et timemus te, et quærimus faciem tuam.
Dani DRC 3:42  Put us not to confusion, but deal with us according to thy meekness, and according to the multitude of thy mercies.
Dani KJV 3:42
Dani VulgClem 3:42  Nec confundas nos, sed fac nobiscum juxta mansuetudinem tuam, et secundum multitudinem misericordiæ tuæ.
Dani DRC 3:43  And deliver us, according to thy wonderful works, and give glory to thy name, O Lord:
Dani KJV 3:43
Dani VulgClem 3:43  Et erue nos in mirabilibus tuis, et da gloriam nomini tuo, Domine ;
Dani DRC 3:44  And let all them be confounded that shew evils to thy servants, let them be confounded in all thy might, and let their strength be broken:
Dani KJV 3:44
Dani DRC 3:45  And let them know that thou art the Lord, the only God, and glorious over all the world.
Dani KJV 3:45
Dani VulgClem 3:45  et sciant quia tu es Dominus Deus solus, et gloriosus super orbem terrarum.
Dani DRC 3:46  Now the king's servants that had cast them in, ceased not to heat the furnace with brimstone and tow, and pitch, and dry sticks,
Dani KJV 3:46
Dani DRC 3:47  And the flame mounted up above the furnace nine and forth cubits:
Dani KJV 3:47
Dani VulgClem 3:47  et effundebatur flamma super fornacem cubitis quadraginta novem :
Dani DRC 3:48  And it broke forth, and burnt such of the Chaldeans as it found near the furnace.
Dani KJV 3:48

Dani DRC 3:50  And made the midst of the furnace like the blowing of a wind bringing dew, and the fire touched them not at all, nor troubled them, nor did them any harm.
Dani KJV 3:50
Dani DRC 3:51  Then these three, as with one mouth, praised and glorified and blessed God, in the furnace, saying:
Dani KJV 3:51

Dani DRC 3:89  O give thanks to the Lord, because he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever and ever.
Dani KJV 3:89
Dani VulgClem 3:89  Confitemini Domino, quoniam bonus : quoniam in sæculum misericordia ejus.

Dani DRC 3:91  Then Nabuchodonosor, the king, was astonished, and rose up in haste, and said to his nobles: Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered the king, and said: True, O king.
Dani KJV 3:91
Dani VulgClem 3:91  Tunc Nabuchodonosor rex obstupuit, et surrexit propere, et ait optimatibus suis : Nonne tres viros misimus in medium ignis compeditos ? Qui respondentes regi, dixerunt : Vere, rex.
Dani DRC 3:92  He answered, and said: Behold, I see four men loose, and walking in the midst of the fire, and there is no hurt in them, and the form of the fourth is like the son of God.
Dani KJV 3:92
Dani VulgClem 3:92  Respondit, et ait : Ecce ego video quatuor viros solutos, et ambulantes in medio ignis, et nihil corruptionis in eis est, et species quarti similis filio Dei.
Dani DRC 3:93  Then Nabuchodonosor came to the door of the burning fiery furnace, and said: Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, ye servants of the most high God, go ye forth, and come. And immediately Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, went out from the midst of the fire.
Dani KJV 3:93
Dani DRC 3:94  And the nobles, and the magistrates, and the judges, and the great men of the king, being gathered together, considered these men, that the fire had no power on their bodies, and that not a hair of their head had been singed, nor their garments altered, nor the smell of the fire had passed on them.
Dani KJV 3:94
Dani DRC 3:95  Then Nabuchodonosor breaking forth, said: Blessed be the God of them, to wit, of Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that believed in him: and they changed the king's word, and delivered up their bodies, that they might not serve nor adore any god except their own God.
Dani KJV 3:95
Dani DRC 3:96  By me, therefore, this decree is made: That every people, tribe, and tongue, which shall speak blasphemy against the God of Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, shall be destroyed, and their houses laid waste: for there is no other God that can save in this manner.
Dani KJV 3:96
Dani DRC 3:97  Then the king promoted Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, in the province of Babylon.
Dani KJV 3:97
Dani VulgClem 3:97  Tunc rex promovit Sidrach, Misach, et Abdenago in provincia Babylonis.
Dani DRC 3:98  Nabuchodonosor, the king, to all peoples, nations, and tongues, that dwell in all the earth, peace be multiplied unto you.
Dani KJV 3:98
Dani VulgClem 3:98  Nabuchodonosor rex, omnibus populis, gentibus, et linguis, qui habitant in universa terra, pax vobis multiplicetur.
Dani DRC 3:99  The most high God hath wrought signs and wonders towards me. It hath seemed good to me, therefore, to publish
Dani KJV 3:99
Dani VulgClem 3:99  Signa, et mirabilia fecit apud me Deus excelsus. Placuit ergo mihi prædicare
Dani DRC 3:100  His signs, because they are great: and his wonders, because they are mighty: and his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his power to all generations.
Dani KJV 3:100
Chapter 4
Dani DRC 4:1  I, Nabuchodonosor, was at rest in my house, and flourishing in my palace:
Dani KJV 4:1  Nebuchadnezzar the king, unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.
Dani VulgClem 4:1  Ego Nabuchodonosor quietus eram in domo mea, et florens in palatio meo :
Dani DRC 4:2  I saw a dream that affrighted me: and my thoughts in my bed, and the visions of my head, troubled me.
Dani KJV 4:2  I thought it good to shew the signs and wonders that the high God hath wrought toward me.
Dani VulgClem 4:2  somnium vidi, quod perterruit me : et cogitationes meæ in strato meo, et visiones capitis mei conturbaverunt me.
Dani DRC 4:3  Then I set forth a decree, that all the wise men of Babylon should be brought in before me, and that they should shew me the interpretation of the dream.
Dani KJV 4:3  How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.
Dani DRC 4:4  Then came in the diviners, the wise men, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers, and I told the dream before them: but they did not shew me the interpretation thereof.
Dani KJV 4:4  I Nebuchadnezzar was at rest in mine house, and flourishing in my palace:
Dani VulgClem 4:4  Tunc ingrediebantur arioli, magi, Chaldæi, et aruspices, et somnium narravi in conspectu eorum : et solutionem ejus non indicaverunt mihi,
Dani DRC 4:5  Till their colleague, Daniel, came in before me, whose name is Baltassar, according to the name of my god, who hath in him the spirit of the holy gods: and I told the dream before him.
Dani KJV 4:5  I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.
Dani VulgClem 4:5  donec collega ingressus est in conspectu meo Daniel, cui nomen Baltassar secundum nomen dei mei, qui habet spiritum deorum sanctorum in semetipso : et somnium coram ipso locutus sum.
Dani DRC 4:6  Baltassar, prince of the diviners, because I know that thou hast in thee the spirit of the holy gods, and that no secret is impossible to thee, tell me the visions of my dreams that I have seen, and the interpretation of them?
Dani KJV 4:6  Therefore made I a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream.
Dani DRC 4:7  This was the vision of my head in my bed: I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was exceeding great.
Dani KJV 4:7  Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof.
Dani VulgClem 4:7  Visio capitis mei in cubili meo : videbam, et ecce arbor in medio terræ, et altitudo ejus nimia.
Dani DRC 4:8  The tree was great and strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven: the sight thereof was even to the ends of all the earth.
Dani KJV 4:8  But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: and before him I told the dream, saying,
Dani DRC 4:9  Its leaves were most beautiful, and its fruit exceeding much: and in it was food for all: under it dwelt cattle and beasts, and in the branches thereof the fowls of the air had their abode: and all flesh did eat of it.
Dani KJV 4:9  O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.
Dani DRC 4:10  I saw in the vision of my head upon my bed, and behold a watcher, and a holy one came down from heaven.
Dani KJV 4:10  Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great.
Dani DRC 4:11  He cried aloud, and said thus: Cut down the tree, and chop off the branches thereof: shake off its leaves, and scatter its fruits: let the beasts fly away that are under it, and the birds from its branches.
Dani KJV 4:11  The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:
Dani VulgClem 4:11  Clamavit fortiter, et sic ait : Succidite arborem, et præcidite ramos ejus : excutite folia ejus, et dispergite fructus ejus : fugiant bestiæ, quæ subter eam sunt, et volucres de ramis ejus.
Dani DRC 4:12  Nevertheless, leave the stump of its roots in the earth, and let it be tied with a band of iron and of brass, among the grass, that is without, and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let its portion be with the wild beasts in the grass of the earth.
Dani KJV 4:12  The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.
Dani DRC 4:13  Let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given him: and let seven times pass over him.
Dani KJV 4:13  I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven;
Dani DRC 4:14  This is the decree by the sentence of the watchers, and the word and demand of the holy ones: till the living know, that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men: and he will give it to whomsoever it shall please him, and he will appoint the basest man over it.
Dani KJV 4:14  He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches:
Dani VulgClem 4:14  In sententia vigilum decretum est, et sermo sanctorum, et petitio : donec cognoscant viventes quoniam dominatur Excelsus in regno hominum, et cuicumque voluerit, dabit illud, et humillimum hominem constituet super eum.
Dani DRC 4:15  I, king Nabuchodonosor, saw this dream: thou, therefore, O Baltassar, tell me quickly the interpretation: for all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to declare the meaning of it to me: but thou art able, because the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.
Dani KJV 4:15  Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:
Dani VulgClem 4:15  Hoc somnium vidi ego Nabuchodonosor rex : tu ergo Baltassar interpretationem narra festinus, quia omnes sapientes regni mei non queunt solutionem edicere mihi : tu autem potes, quia spiritus deorum sanctorum in te est.
Dani DRC 4:16  Then Daniel, whose name was Baltassar, began silently to think within himself for about one hour: and his thought troubled him. But the king answering, said: Baltassar, let not the dream and the interpretation thereof trouble thee. Baltassar answered, and said: My lord, the dream be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thy enemies.
Dani KJV 4:16  Let his heart be changed from man’s, and let a beast’s heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.
Dani DRC 4:17  The tree which thou sawest, which was high and strong, whose height reached to the skies, and the sight thereof into all the earth:
Dani KJV 4:17  This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.
Dani VulgClem 4:17  Arborem, quam vidisti sublimem atque robustam, cujus altitudo pertingit ad cælum, et aspectus illius in omnem terram ;
Dani DRC 4:18  And the branches thereof were most beautiful, and its fruit exceeding much, and in it was food for all, under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and the birds of the air had their abode in its branches.
Dani KJV 4:18  This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.
Dani VulgClem 4:18  et rami ejus pulcherrimi, et fructus ejus nimius, et esca omnium in ea, subter eam habitantes bestiæ agri, et in ramis ejus commorantes aves cæli :
Dani DRC 4:19  It is thou, O king, who art grown great, and become mighty: for thy greatness hath grown, and hath reached to heaven, and thy power unto the ends of the earth.
Dani KJV 4:19  Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies.
Dani DRC 4:20  And whereas the king saw a watcher, and a holy one come down from heaven, and say: Cut down the tree, and destroy it, but leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, and let it be bound with iron and brass, among the grass without, and let it be sprinkled with the dew of heaven, and let his feeding be with the wild beasts, till seven times pass over him.
Dani KJV 4:20  The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth;
Dani DRC 4:21  This is the interpretation of the sentence of the most High, which is come upon my lord, the king.
Dani KJV 4:21  Whose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the heaven had their habitation:
Dani VulgClem 4:21  hæc est interpretatio sententiæ Altissimi, quæ pervenit super dominum meum regem,
Dani DRC 4:22  They shall cast thee out from among men, and thy dwelling shall be with cattle, and with wild beasts, and thou shalt eat grass, as an ox, and shalt be wet with the dew of heaven: and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth over the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
Dani KJV 4:22  It is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.
Dani DRC 4:23  But whereas he commanded, that the stump of the roots thereof, that is, of the tree, should be left: thy kingdom shall remain to thee, after thou shalt have known that power is from heaven.
Dani KJV 4:23  And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;
Dani DRC 4:24  Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to thee, and redeem thou thy sins with alms, and thy iniquities with works of mercy to the poor: perhaps he will forgive thy offences.
Dani KJV 4:24  This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king:
Dani VulgClem 4:24  Quam ob rem, rex, consilium meum placeat tibi, et peccata tua eleemosynis redime, et iniquitates tuas misericordiis pauperum : forsitan ignoscet delictis tuis.
Dani DRC 4:25  All these things came upon king Nabuchodonosor.
Dani KJV 4:25  That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
Dani VulgClem 4:25  Omnia hæc venerunt super Nabuchodonosor regem.
Dani DRC 4:26  At the end of twelve months he was walking in the palace of Babylon.
Dani KJV 4:26  And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule.
Dani VulgClem 4:26  Post finem mensium duodecim, in aula Babylonis deambulabat.
Dani DRC 4:27  And the king answered, and said: Is not this the great Babylon, which I have built, to be the seat of the kingdom, by the strength of my power, and in the glory of my excellence?
Dani KJV 4:27  Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.
Dani DRC 4:28  And while the word was yet in the king's mouth, a voice came down from heaven: To thee, O king Nabuchodonosor, it is said: Thy kingdom shall pass from thee.
Dani KJV 4:28  All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.
Dani VulgClem 4:28  Cumque sermo adhuc esset in ore regis, vox de cælo ruit : Tibi dicitur, Nabuchodonosor rex : Regnum tuum transibit a te,
Dani DRC 4:29  And they shall cast thee out from among men, and thy dwelling shall be with cattle and wild beasts: thou shalt eat grass like an ox, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
Dani KJV 4:29  At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.
Dani DRC 4:30  The same hour the word was fulfilled upon Nabuchodonosor, and he was driven away from among men, and did eat grass, like an ox, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven: till his hairs grew like the feathers of eagles, and his nails like birds' claws.
Dani KJV 4:30  The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?
Dani DRC 4:31  Now at the end of the days, I, Nabuchodonosor, lifted up my eyes to heaven, and my sense was restored to me: and I blessed the most High, and I praised and glorified him that liveth for ever: for his power is an everlasting power, and his kingdom is to all generations.
Dani KJV 4:31  While the word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.
Dani DRC 4:32  And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing before him: for he doth according to his will, as well with the powers of heaven, as among the inhabitants of the earth: and there is none that can resist his hand, and say to him: Why hast thou done it?
Dani KJV 4:32  And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
Dani DRC 4:33  At the same time my sense returned to me, and I came to the honour and glory of my kingdom: and my shape returned to me: and my nobles, and my magistrates, sought for me, and I was restored to my kingdom: and greater majesty was added to me.
Dani KJV 4:33  The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles’ feathers, and his nails like birds’ claws.
Dani VulgClem 4:33  In ipso tempore sensus meus reversus est ad me, et ad honorem regni mei, decoremque perveni : et figura mea reversa est ad me, et optimates mei et magistratus mei requisierunt me, et in regno meo restitutus sum : et magnificentia amplior addita est mihi.
Dani DRC 4:34  Therefore I, Nabuchodonosor, do now praise, and magnify, and glorify the King of heaven: because all his works are true, and his ways judgments, and them that walk in pride he is able to abase.
Dani KJV 4:34  And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:
Dani VulgClem 4:34  Nunc igitur, ego Nabuchodonosor laudo, et magnifico, et glorifico regem cæli : quia omnia opera ejus vera, et viæ ejus judicia, et gradientes in superbia potest humiliare.
Dani DRC 4:35
Dani KJV 4:35  And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?
Dani VulgClem 4:35
Dani DRC 4:36
Dani KJV 4:36  At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.
Dani VulgClem 4:36
Dani DRC 4:37
Dani KJV 4:37  Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.
Dani VulgClem 4:37
Chapter 5
Dani DRC 5:1  Baltasar, the king, made a great feast for a thousand of his nobles: and every one drank according to his age.
Dani KJV 5:1  Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand.
Dani VulgClem 5:1  Baltassar rex fecit grande convivium optimatibus suis mille : et unusquisque secundum suam bibebat ætatem.
Dani DRC 5:2  And being now drunk, he commanded that they should bring the vessels of gold and silver, which Nabuchodonosor, his father, had brought away out of the temple, that was in Jerusalem, that the king and his nobles, and his wives, and his concubines, might drink in them.
Dani KJV 5:2  Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein.
Dani DRC 5:3  Then were the golden and silver vessels brought, which he had brought away out of the temple that was in Jerusalem: and the king and his nobles, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them.
Dani KJV 5:3  Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them.
Dani DRC 5:4  They drank wine, and praised their gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, and of wood, and of stone.
Dani KJV 5:4  They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.
Dani VulgClem 5:4  Bibebant vinum, et laudabant deos suos aureos et argenteos, æreos, ferreos, ligneosque et lapideos.
Dani DRC 5:5  In the same hour there appeared fingers, as it were of the hand of a man, writing over against the candlestick, upon the surface of the wall of the king's palace: and the king beheld the joints of the hand that wrote.
Dani KJV 5:5  In the same hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king’s palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote.
Dani VulgClem 5:5  In eadem hora apparuerunt digiti, quasi manus hominis scribentis contra candelabrum in superficie parietis aulæ regiæ : et rex aspiciebat articulos manus scribentis.
Dani DRC 5:6  Then was the king's countenance changed, and his thoughts troubled him: and the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees struck one against the other.
Dani KJV 5:6  Then the king’s countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.
Dani DRC 5:7  And the king cried out aloud to bring in the wise men, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. And the king spoke, and said to the wise men of Babylon: Whosoever shall read this writing, and shall make known to me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with purple, and shall have a golden chain on his neck, and shall be the third man in my kingdom.
Dani KJV 5:7  The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. And the king spake, and said to the wise men of Babylon, Whosoever shall read this writing, and shew me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.
Dani DRC 5:8  Then came in all the king's wise men, but they could neither read the writing, nor declare the interpretation to the king.
Dani KJV 5:8  Then came in all the king’s wise men: but they could not read the writing, nor make known to the king the interpretation thereof.
Dani DRC 5:9  Wherewith king Baltasar was much troubled, and his countenance was changed: and his nobles also were troubled.
Dani KJV 5:9  Then was king Belshazzar greatly troubled, and his countenance was changed in him, and his lords were astonied.
Dani DRC 5:10  Then the queen, on occasion of what had happened to the king, and his nobles, came into the banquet-house: and she spoke, and said: O king, live for ever: let not thy thoughts trouble thee, neither let thy countenance be changed.
Dani KJV 5:10  Now the queen, by reason of the words of the king and his lords, came into the banquet house: and the queen spake and said, O king, live for ever: let not thy thoughts trouble thee, nor let thy countenance be changed:
Dani VulgClem 5:10  Regina autem pro re, quæ acciderat regi et optimatibus ejus, domum convivii ingressa est : et proloquens ait : Rex, in æternum vive ! non te conturbent cogitationes tuæ, neque facies tua immutetur.
Dani DRC 5:11  There is a man in thy kingdom that hath the spirit of the holy gods in him: and in the days of thy father knowledge and wisdom were found in him: for king Nabuchodonosor, thy father, appointed him prince of the wise men, enchanters, Chaldeans, and soothsayers, thy father, I say, O king:
Dani KJV 5:11  There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, was found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers;
Dani VulgClem 5:11  Est vir in regno tuo, qui spiritum deorum sanctorum habet in se, et in diebus patris tui scientia et sapientia inventæ sunt in eo : nam et rex Nabuchodonosor pater tuus principem magorum, incantatorum, Chaldæorum, et aruspicum constituit eum, pater, inquam, tuus, o rex :
Dani DRC 5:12  Because a greater spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, and interpretation of dreams, and shewing of secrets, and resolving of difficult things, were found in him, that is, in Daniel: whom the king named Baltassar. Now, therefore, let Daniel be called for, and he will tell the interpretation.
Dani KJV 5:12  Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will shew the interpretation.
Dani DRC 5:13  Then Daniel was brought in before the king. And the king spoke, and said to him: Art thou Daniel, of the children of the captivity of Juda, whom my father, the king, brought out of Judea?
Dani KJV 5:13  Then was Daniel brought in before the king. And the king spake and said unto Daniel, Art thou that Daniel, which art of the children of the captivity of Judah, whom the king my father brought out of Jewry?
Dani VulgClem 5:13  Igitur introductus est Daniel coram rege : ad quem præfatus rex ait : Tu es Daniel de filiis captivitatis Judæ, quem adduxit pater meus rex de Judæa ?
Dani DRC 5:14  I have heard of thee, that thou hast the spirit of the gods, and excellent knowledge, and understanding, and wisdom are found in thee.
Dani KJV 5:14  I have even heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee.
Dani DRC 5:15  And now the wise men, the magicians, have come in before me, to read this writing, and shew me the interpretation thereof; and they could not declare to me the meaning of this writing.
Dani KJV 5:15  And now the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make known unto me the interpretation thereof: but they could not shew the interpretation of the thing:
Dani VulgClem 5:15  Et nunc introgressi sunt in conspectu meo sapientes magi, ut scripturam hanc legerent, et interpretationem ejus indicarent mihi : et nequiverunt sensum hujus sermonis edicere.
Dani DRC 5:16  But I have heard of thee, that thou canst interpret obscure things, and resolve difficult things: now if thou art able to read the writing, and to shew me the interpretation thereof, thou shalt be clothed with purple, and shalt have a chain of gold about thy neck, and shalt be the third prince in my kingdom.
Dani KJV 5:16  And I have heard of thee, that thou canst make interpretations, and dissolve doubts: now if thou canst read the writing, and make known to me the interpretation thereof, thou shalt be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about thy neck, and shalt be the third ruler in the kingdom.
Dani DRC 5:17  To which Daniel made answer, and said before the king: thy rewards be to thyself, and the gifts of thy house give to another: but the writing I will read to thee, O king, and shew thee the interpretation thereof.
Dani KJV 5:17  Then Daniel answered and said before the king, Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give thy rewards to another; yet I will read the writing unto the king, and make known to him the interpretation.
Dani VulgClem 5:17  Ad quæ respondens Daniel, ait coram rege : Munera tua sint tibi, et dona domus tuæ alteri da : scripturam autem legam tibi, rex, et interpretationem ejus ostendam tibi.
Dani DRC 5:18  O king, the most high God gave to Nabuchodonosor, thy father, a kingdom, and greatness, and glory, and honour.
Dani KJV 5:18  O thou king, the most high God gave Nebuchadnezzar thy father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honour:
Dani VulgClem 5:18  O rex, Deus altissimus regnum et magnificentiam, gloriam et honorem dedit Nabuchodonosor patri tuo.
Dani DRC 5:19  And for the greatness that he gave to him, all people, tribes, and languages trembled, and were afraid of him: whom he would, he slew: and whom he would, he destroyed: and whom he would, he set up: and whom he would, he brought down.
Dani KJV 5:19  And for the majesty that he gave him, all people, nations, and languages, trembled and feared before him: whom he would he slew; and whom he would he kept alive; and whom he would he set up; and whom he would he put down.
Dani DRC 5:20  But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit hardened unto pride, he was put down from the throne of his kingdom, and his glory was taken away.
Dani KJV 5:20  But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:
Dani VulgClem 5:20  Quando autem elevatum est cor ejus, et spiritus illius obfirmatus est ad superbiam, depositus est de solio regni sui, et gloria ejus ablata est :
Dani DRC 5:21  And he was driven out from the sons of men, and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses, and he did eat grass like an ox, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven: till he knew that the most High ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he will set over it whomsoever it shall please him.
Dani KJV 5:21  And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he will.
Dani DRC 5:22  Thou also, his son, O Baltasar, hast not humbled thy heart, whereas thou knewest all these things:
Dani KJV 5:22  And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;
Dani VulgClem 5:22  Tu quoque, filius ejus Baltassar, non humiliasti cor tuum, cum scires hæc omnia :
Dani DRC 5:23  But hast lifted thyself up against the Lord of heaven: and the vessels of his house have been brought before thee: and thou, and thy nobles, and thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them: and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and of gold, and of brass, of iron, and of wood, and of stone, that neither see, nor hear, nor feel: but the God who hath thy breath in his hand, and all thy ways, thou hast not glorified.
Dani KJV 5:23  But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:
Dani VulgClem 5:23  sed adversum Dominatorem cæli elevatus es : et vasa domus ejus allata sunt coram te, et tu, et optimates tui, et uxores tuæ, et concubinæ tuæ vinum bibistis in eis : deos quoque argenteos, et aureos, et æreos, ferreos, ligneosque et lapideos, qui non vident, neque audiunt, neque sentiunt, laudasti : porro Deum, qui habet flatum tuum in manu sua, et omnes vias tuas, non glorificasti.
Dani DRC 5:24  Wherefore, he hath sent the part of the hand which hath written this that is set down.
Dani KJV 5:24  Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written.
Dani DRC 5:25  And this is the writing that is written: MANE, THECEL, PHARES.
Dani KJV 5:25  And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.
Dani DRC 5:26  And this is the interpretation of the word. MANE: God hath numbered thy kingdom, and hath finished it.
Dani KJV 5:26  This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.
Dani VulgClem 5:26  Et hæc est interpretatio sermonis. Mane : numeravit Deus regnum tuum, et complevit illud.
Dani DRC 5:27  THECEL: thou art weighed in the balance, and art found wanting.
Dani KJV 5:27  TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.
Dani VulgClem 5:27  Thecel : appensus es in statera, et inventus es minus habens.
Dani DRC 5:28  PHARES: thy kingdom is divided, and is given to the Medes and Persians.
Dani KJV 5:28  PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.
Dani DRC 5:29  Then by the king's command, Daniel was clothed with purple, and a chain of gold was put about his neck: and it was proclaimed of him that he had power as the third man in the kingdom.
Dani KJV 5:29  Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.
Dani DRC 5:30  The same night Baltasar, the Chaldean king, was slain.
Dani KJV 5:30  In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain.
Dani VulgClem 5:30  Eadem nocte interfectus est Baltassar rex Chaldæus.
Dani DRC 5:31  And Darius, the Mede, succeeded to the kingdom, being threescore and two years old.
Dani KJV 5:31  And Darius the Median took the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.
Dani VulgClem 5:31  Et Darius Medus successit in regnum, annos natus sexaginta duos.
Chapter 6
Dani DRC 6:1  It seemed good to Darius, and he appointed over the kingdom a hundred and twenty governors, to be over his whole kingdom.
Dani KJV 6:1  It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom;
Dani VulgClem 6:1  Placuit Dario, et constituit super regnum satrapas centum viginti ut essent in toto regno suo.
Dani DRC 6:2  And three princes over them of whom Daniel was one: that the governors might give an account to them, and the king might have no trouble.
Dani KJV 6:2  And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage.
Dani DRC 6:3  And Daniel excelled all the princes, and governors: because a greater spirit of God was in him.
Dani KJV 6:3  Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
Dani VulgClem 6:3  Igitur Daniel superabat omnes principes et satrapas, quia spiritus Dei amplior erat in illo.
Dani DRC 6:4  And the king thought to set him over all the kingdom; whereupon the princes, and the governors, sought to find occasion against Daniel, with regard to the king: and they could find no cause, nor suspicion, because he was faithful, and no fault, nor suspicion was found in him.
Dani KJV 6:4  Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.
Dani DRC 6:5  Then these men said: We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, unless perhaps concerning the law of his God.
Dani KJV 6:5  Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.
Dani VulgClem 6:5  Dixerunt ergo viri illi : Non inveniemus Danieli huic aliquam occasionem, nisi forte in lege Dei sui.
Dani DRC 6:6  Then the princes, and the governors, craftily suggested to the king, and spoke thus unto him: King Darius, live for ever:
Dani KJV 6:6  Then these presidents and princes assembled together to the king, and said thus unto him, King Darius, live for ever.
Dani DRC 6:7  All the princes of the kingdom, the magistrates, and governors, the senators, and judges, have consulted together, that an imperial decree, and an edict be published: That whosoever shall ask any petition of any god, or man, for thirty days, but of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of the lions.
Dani KJV 6:7  All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.
Dani VulgClem 6:7  consilium inierunt omnes principes regni tui, magistratus, et satrapæ, senatores, et judices, ut decretum imperatorium exeat, et edictum : ut omnis, qui petierit aliquam petitionem a quocumque deo et homine usque ad triginta dies, nisi a te, rex, mittatur in lacum leonum.
Dani DRC 6:8  Now, therefore, O king, confirm the sentence, and sign the decree: that what is decreed by the Medes and Persians may not be altered, nor any man be allowed to transgress it.
Dani KJV 6:8  Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it be not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
Dani DRC 6:9  So king Darius set forth the decree, and established it.
Dani KJV 6:9  Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree.
Dani VulgClem 6:9  Porro rex Darius proposuit edictum, et statuit.
Dani DRC 6:10  Now, when Daniel knew this, that is to say, that the law was made, he went into his house: and opening the windows in his upper chamber towards Jerusalem, he knelt down three times a day, and adored and gave thanks before his God, as he had been accustomed to do before.
Dani KJV 6:10  Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
Dani DRC 6:11  Wherefore those men carefully watching him, found Daniel praying and making supplication to his God.
Dani KJV 6:11  Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.
Dani VulgClem 6:11  Viri ergo illi curiosius inquirentes invenerunt Danielem orantem, et obsecrantem Deum suum.
Dani DRC 6:12  And they came and spoke to the king concerning the edict: O king, hast thou not decreed, that every man that should make a request to any of the gods, or men, for thirty days, but to thyself, O king, should be cast into the den of the lions? And the king answered them, saying: The word is true, according to the decree of the Medes and Persians, which it is not lawful to violate.
Dani KJV 6:12  Then they came near, and spake before the king concerning the king’s decree; Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask a petition of any God or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
Dani DRC 6:13  Then they answered, and said before the king: Daniel, who is of the children of the captivity of Juda, hath not regarded thy law, nor the decree that thou hast made: but three times a day he maketh his prayer.
Dani KJV 6:13  Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which is of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.
Dani DRC 6:14  Now when the king had heard these words, he was very much grieved, and in behalf of Daniel he set his heart to deliver him, and even till sunset he laboured to save him.
Dani KJV 6:14  Then the king, when he heard these words, was sore displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured till the going down of the sun to deliver him.
Dani DRC 6:15  But those men perceiving the king's design, said to him: Know thou, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, that no decree which the king hath made, may be altered.
Dani KJV 6:15  Then these men assembled unto the king, and said unto the king, Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, That no decree nor statute which the king establisheth may be changed.
Dani DRC 6:16  Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of the lions. And the king said to Daniel: Thy God, whom thou always servest, he will deliver thee.
Dani KJV 6:16  Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.
Dani VulgClem 6:16  Tunc rex præcepit, et adduxerunt Danielem, et miserunt eum in lacum leonum. Dixitque rex Danieli : Deus tuus, quem colis semper, ipse liberabit te.
Dani DRC 6:17  And a stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth of the den: which the king sealed with his own ring, and with the ring of his nobles, that nothing should be done against Daniel.
Dani KJV 6:17  And a stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords; that the purpose might not be changed concerning Daniel.
Dani DRC 6:18  And the king went away to his house, and laid himself down without taking supper, and meat was not set before him, and even sleep departed from him.
Dani KJV 6:18  Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting: neither were instruments of musick brought before him: and his sleep went from him.
Dani DRC 6:19  Then the king rising very early in the morning, went in haste to the lions' den:
Dani KJV 6:19  Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions.
Dani VulgClem 6:19  Tunc rex primo diluculo consurgens, festinus ad lacum leonum perrexit :
Dani DRC 6:20  And coming near to the den, cried with a lamentable voice to Daniel, and said to him: Daniel, servant of the living God, hath thy God, whom thou servest always, been able, thinkest thou, to deliver thee from the lions?
Dani KJV 6:20  And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?
Dani VulgClem 6:20  appropinquansque lacui, Danielem voce lacrimabili inclamavit, et affatus est eum : Daniel serve Dei viventis, Deus tuus, cui tu servis semper, putasne valuit te liberare a leonibus ?
Dani DRC 6:21  And Daniel answering the king, said: O king, live for ever:
Dani KJV 6:21  Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.
Dani VulgClem 6:21  Et Daniel regi respondens ait : Rex, in æternum vive !
Dani DRC 6:22  My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut up the mouths of the lions, and they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him justice hath been found in me: yea, and before thee, O king, I have done no offence.
Dani KJV 6:22  My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.
Dani DRC 6:23  Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and he commanded that Daniel should be taken out of the den: and Daniel was taken out of the den, and no hurt was found in him, because he believed in his God.
Dani KJV 6:23  Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.
Dani DRC 6:24  And by the king's commandment, those men were brought that had accused Daniel: and they were cast into the lions' den, they and their children, and their wives: and they did not reach the bottom of the den, before the lions caught them, and broke all their bones in pieces.
Dani KJV 6:24  And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den.
Dani DRC 6:25  Then king Darius wrote to all people, tribes, and languages, dwelling in the whole earth: PEACE be multiplied unto you.
Dani KJV 6:25  Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.
Dani VulgClem 6:25  Tunc Darius rex scripsit universis populis, tribubus, et linguis habitantibus in universa terra : Pax vobis multiplicetur.
Dani DRC 6:26  It is decreed by me, that in all my empire and my kingdom, all men dread and fear the God of Daniel. For he is the living and eternal God for ever: and his kingdom shall not be destroyed, and his power shall be for ever.
Dani KJV 6:26  I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end.
Dani DRC 6:27  He is the deliverer, and saviour, doing signs and wonders in heaven, and in earth: who hath delivered Daniel out of the lions' den.
Dani KJV 6:27  He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
Dani DRC 6:28  Now Daniel continued unto the reign of Darius, and the reign of Cyrus, the Persian.
Dani KJV 6:28  So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
Dani VulgClem 6:28  Porro Daniel perseveravit usque ad regnum Darii, regnumque Cyri Persæ.
Chapter 7
Dani DRC 7:1  In the first year of Baltasar, king of Babylon, Daniel saw a dream: and the vision of his head was upon his bed: and writing the dream, he comprehended it in a few words: and relating the sum of it in short, he said:
Dani KJV 7:1  In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters.
Dani VulgClem 7:1  Anno primo Baltassar regis Babylonis, Daniel somnium vidit : visio autem capitis ejus in cubili suo : et somnium scribens, brevi sermone comprehendit : summatimque perstringens, ait :
Dani DRC 7:2  I saw in my vision by night, and behold the four winds of the heavens strove upon the great sea.
Dani KJV 7:2  Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.
Dani VulgClem 7:2  Videbam in visione mea nocte : et ecce quatuor venti cæli pugnabant in mari magno.
Dani DRC 7:3  And four great beasts, different one from another, came up out of the sea.
Dani KJV 7:3  And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.
Dani DRC 7:4  The first was like a lioness, and had the wings of an eagle: I beheld till her wings were plucked off, and she was lifted up from the earth, and stood upon her feet as a man, and the heart of a man was given to her.
Dani KJV 7:4  The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.
Dani DRC 7:5  And behold another beast, like a bear, stood up on one side: and there were three rows in the mouth thereof, and in the teeth thereof, and thus they said to it: Arise, devour much flesh.
Dani KJV 7:5  And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.
Dani VulgClem 7:5  Et ecce bestia alia similis urso in parte stetit : et tres ordines erant in ore ejus, et in dentibus ejus, et sic dicebant ei : Surge, comede carnes plurimas.
Dani DRC 7:6  After this I beheld, and lo, another like a leopard, and it had upon it four wings, as of a fowl, and the beast had four heads, and power was given to it.
Dani KJV 7:6  After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.
Dani DRC 7:7  After this I beheld in the vision of the night, and lo, a fourth beast, terrible and wonderful, and exceeding strong, it had great iron teeth, eating and breaking in pieces, and treading down the rest with his feet: and it was unlike to the other beasts which I had seen before it, and had ten horns.
Dani KJV 7:7  After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
Dani DRC 7:8  I considered the horns, and behold another little horn sprung out of the midst of them: and three of the first horns were plucked up at the presence thereof: and behold eyes like the eyes of a man were in this horn, and a mouth speaking great things.
Dani KJV 7:8  I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
Dani DRC 7:9  I beheld till thrones were placed, and the ancient of days sat: his garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like clean wool: his throne like flames of fire: the wheels of it like a burning fire.
Dani KJV 7:9  I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
Dani DRC 7:10  A swift stream of fire issued forth from before him: thousands of thousands ministered to him, and ten thousand times a hundred thousand stood before him: the judgment sat, and the books were opened.
Dani KJV 7:10  A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
Dani VulgClem 7:10  Fluvius igneus rapidusque egrediebatur a facie ejus.
Dani DRC 7:11  I beheld, because of the voice of the great words which that horn spoke: and I saw that the beast was slain, and the body thereof was destroyed, and given to the fire to be burnt:
Dani KJV 7:11  I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.
Dani VulgClem 7:11  Aspiciebam propter vocem sermonum grandium, quos cornu illud loquebatur : et vidi quoniam interfecta esset bestia, et perisset corpus ejus, et traditum esset ad comburendum igni :
Dani DRC 7:12  And that the power of the other beasts was taken away: and that times of life were appointed them for a time, and a time.
Dani KJV 7:12  As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.
Dani DRC 7:13  I beheld, therefore, in the vision of the night, and lo, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and he came even to the ancient of days: and they presented him before him.
Dani KJV 7:13  I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
Dani DRC 7:14  And he gave him power, and glory, and a kingdom: and all peoples, tribes, and tongues shall serve him: his power is an everlasting power that shall not be taken away: and his kingdom that shall not be destroyed.
Dani KJV 7:14  And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
Dani DRC 7:15  My spirit trembled; I, Daniel, was affrighted at these things, and the visions of my head troubled me.
Dani KJV 7:15  I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.
Dani VulgClem 7:15  Horruit spiritus meus : ego Daniel territus sum in his, et visiones capitis mei conturbaverunt me.
Dani DRC 7:16  I went near to one of them that stood by, and asked the truth of him concerning all these things, and he told me the interpretation of the words, and instructed me:
Dani KJV 7:16  I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.
Dani DRC 7:17  These four great beasts, are four kingdoms, which shall arise out of the earth.
Dani KJV 7:17  These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.
Dani DRC 7:18  But the saints of the most high God shall take the kingdom: and they shall possess the kingdom for ever and ever.
Dani KJV 7:18  But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.
Dani DRC 7:19  After this I would diligently learn concerning the fourth beast, which was very different from all, and exceeding terrible: his teeth and claws were of iron: he devoured and broke in pieces, and the rest he stamped upon with his feet:
Dani KJV 7:19  Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
Dani DRC 7:20  And concerning the ten horns that he had on his head: and concerning the other that came up, before which three horns fell: and of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth speaking great things, and was greater than the rest.
Dani KJV 7:20  And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
Dani DRC 7:21  I beheld, and lo, that horn made war against the saints, and prevailed over them,
Dani KJV 7:21  I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
Dani VulgClem 7:21  Aspiciebam, et ecce cornu illud faciebat bellum adversus sanctos, et prævalebat eis,
Dani DRC 7:22  Till the ancient of days came and gave judgment to the saints of the most High, and the time came, and the saints obtained the kingdom.
Dani KJV 7:22  Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
Dani VulgClem 7:22  donec venit antiquus dierum, et judicium dedit sanctis Excelsi, et tempus advenit, et regnum obtinuerunt sancti.
Dani DRC 7:23  And thus he said: The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be greater than all the kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
Dani KJV 7:23  Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
Dani DRC 7:24  And the ten horns of the same kingdom, shall be ten kings: and another shall rise up after them, and he shall be mightier than the former, and he shall bring down three kings.
Dani KJV 7:24  And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
Dani VulgClem 7:24  Porro cornua decem ipsius regni, decem reges erunt : et alius consurget post eos, et ipse potentior erit prioribus, et tres reges humiliabit.
Dani DRC 7:25  And he shall speak words against the High One, and shall crush the saints of the most High: and he shall think himself able to change times and laws, and they shall be delivered into his hand until a time, and times, and half a time.
Dani KJV 7:25  And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
Dani DRC 7:26  And a judgment shall sit, that his power may be taken away, and be broken in pieces, and perish even to the end.
Dani KJV 7:26  But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
Dani DRC 7:27  And that the kingdom, and power, and the greatness of the kingdom, under the whole heaven, may be given to the people of the saints of the most High: whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all kings shall serve him, and shall obey him.
Dani KJV 7:27  And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
Dani DRC 7:28  Hitherto is the end of the word. I, Daniel, was much troubled with my thoughts, and my countenance was changed in me: but I kept the word in my heart.
Dani KJV 7:28  Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.
Dani VulgClem 7:28  Hucusque finis verbi.
Chapter 8
Dani DRC 8:1  In the third year of the reign of king Baltasar, a vision appeared to me. I, Daniel, after what I had seen in the beginning,
Dani KJV 8:1  In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, even unto me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first.
Dani VulgClem 8:1  Anno tertio regni Baltassar regis, visio apparuit mihi. Ego Daniel, post id quod videram in principio,
Dani DRC 8:2  Saw in my vision when I was in the castle of Susa, which is in the province of Elam: and I saw in the vision that I was over the gate of Ulai.
Dani KJV 8:2  And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I was at Shushan in the palace, which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by the river of Ulai.
Dani DRC 8:3  And I lifted up my eyes, and saw: and behold a ram stood before the water, having two high horns, and one higher than the other, and growing up. Afterward
Dani KJV 8:3  Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.
Postea
Dani DRC 8:4  I saw the ram pushing with his horns against the west, and against the north, and against the south: and no beasts could withstand him, nor be delivered out of his hand: and he did according to his own will, and became great.
Dani KJV 8:4  I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.
Dani DRC 8:5  And I understood: and behold a he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and he touched not the ground, and the he goat had a notable horn between his eyes.
Dani KJV 8:5  And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.
Dani DRC 8:6  And he went up to the ram that had the horns, which I had seen standing before the gate, and he ran towards him in the force of his strength.
Dani KJV 8:6  And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power.
Dani VulgClem 8:6  Et venit usque ad arietem illum cornutum, quem videram stantem ante portam, et cucurrit ad eum in impetu fortitudinis suæ.
Dani DRC 8:7  And when he was come near the ram, he was enraged against him, and struck the ram: and broke his two horns, and the ram could not withstand him: and when he had cast him down on the ground, he stamped upon him, and none could deliver the ram out of his hand.
Dani KJV 8:7  And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
Dani DRC 8:8  And the he goat became exceeding great: and when he was grown, the great horn was broken, and there came up four horns under it towards the four winds of heaven.
Dani KJV 8:8  Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.
Dani DRC 8:9  And out of one of them came forth a little horn: and it became great against the south, and against the east, and against the strength.
Dani KJV 8:9  And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.
Dani DRC 8:10  And it was magnified even unto the strength of heaven: and it threw down of the strength, and of the stars, and trod upon them.
Dani KJV 8:10  And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.
Dani DRC 8:11  And it was magnified even to the prince of the strength: and it took away from him the continual sacrifice, and cast down the place of his sanctuary.
Dani KJV 8:11  Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
Dani DRC 8:12  And strength was given him against the continual sacrifice, because of sins: and truth shall be cast down on the ground, and he shall do and shall prosper.
Dani KJV 8:12  And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.
Dani DRC 8:13  And I heard one of the saints speaking, and one saint said to another I know not to whom, that was speaking: How long shall be the vision, concerning the continual sacrifice, and the sin of the desolation that is made: and the sanctuary, and the strength be trodden under foot?
Dani KJV 8:13  Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
Dani DRC 8:14  And he said to him: Unto evening and morning two thousand three hundred days: and the sanctuary shall be cleansed.
Dani KJV 8:14  And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
Dani DRC 8:15  And it came to pass when I, Daniel, saw the vision, and sought the meaning, that behold there stood before me as it were the appearance of a man.
Dani KJV 8:15  And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.
Dani DRC 8:16  And I heard the voice of a man between Ulai: and he called, and said: Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.
Dani KJV 8:16  And I heard a man’s voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.
Dani DRC 8:17  And he came, and stood near where I stood: and when he was come, I fell on my face, trembling, and he said to me: Understand, O son of man, for in the time of the end the vision shall be fulfilled.
Dani KJV 8:17  So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.
Dani VulgClem 8:17  Et venit, et stetit juxta ubi ego stabam : cumque venisset, pavens corrui in faciem meam : et ait ad me : Intellige, fili hominis, quoniam in tempore finis complebitur visio.
Dani DRC 8:18  And when he spoke to me, I fell flat on the ground: and he touched me, and set me upright.
Dani KJV 8:18  Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright.
Dani VulgClem 8:18  Cumque loqueretur ad me, collapsus sum pronus in terram : et tetigit me, et statuit me in gradu meo,
Dani DRC 8:19  And he said to me: I will shew thee what things are to come to pass in the end of the malediction: for the time hath its end.
Dani KJV 8:19  And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.
Dani VulgClem 8:19  dixitque mihi : Ego ostendam tibi quæ futura sunt in novissimo maledictionis : quoniam habet tempus finem suum.
Dani DRC 8:20  The ram, which thou sawest with horns, is the king of the Medes and Persians.
Dani KJV 8:20  The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.
Dani DRC 8:21  And the he goat, is the king of the Greeks, and the great horn that was between his eyes, the same is the first king.
Dani KJV 8:21  And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.
Dani DRC 8:22  But whereas when that was broken, there arose up four for it, four kings shall rise up of his nation, but not with his strength.
Dani KJV 8:22  Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.
Dani DRC 8:23  And after their reign, when iniquities shall be grown up, there shall arise a king of a shameless face, and understanding dark sentences.
Dani KJV 8:23  And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.
Dani VulgClem 8:23  Et post regnum eorum, cum creverint iniquitates, consurget rex impudens facie, et intelligens propositiones ;
Dani DRC 8:24  And his power shall be strengthened, but not by his own force: and he shall lay all things waste, and shall prosper, and do more than can be believed. And he shall destroy the mighty, and the people of the saints,
Dani KJV 8:24  And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.
Dani DRC 8:25  According to his will, and craft shall be successful in his hand: and his heart shall be puffed up, and in the abundance of all things he shall kill many: and he shall rise up against the prince of princes, and shall be broken without hand.
Dani KJV 8:25  And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
Dani VulgClem 8:25  secundum voluntatem suam, et dirigetur dolus in manu ejus : et cor suum magnificabit, et in copia rerum omnium occidet plurimos : et contra principem principum consurget, et sine manu conteretur.
Dani DRC 8:26  And the vision of the evening and the morning, which was told, is true: thou, therefore, seal up the vision, because it shall come to pass after many days.
Dani KJV 8:26  And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days.
Dani VulgClem 8:26  Et visio vespere et mane, quæ dicta est, vera est : tu ergo visionem signa, quia post multos dies erit.
Dani DRC 8:27  And I, Daniel, languished, and was sick for some days: and when I was risen up, I did the king's business, and I was astonished at the vision, and there was none that could interpret it.
Dani KJV 8:27  And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king’s business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it.
Chapter 9
Dani DRC 9:1  In the first year of Darius, the son of Assuerus, of the seed of the Medes, who reigned over the kingdom of the Chaldeans:
Dani KJV 9:1  In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans;
Dani VulgClem 9:1  In anno primo Darii filii Assueri de semine Medorum, qui imperavit super regnum Chaldæorum,
Dani DRC 9:2  The first year of his reign I, Daniel, understood by books the number of the years, concerning which the word of the Lord came to Jeremias, the prophet, that seventy years should be accomplished of the desolation of Jerusalem.
Dani KJV 9:2  In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.
Dani VulgClem 9:2  anno uno regni ejus, ego Daniel intellexi in libris numerum annorum, de quo factus est sermo Domini ad Jeremiam prophetam, ut complerentur desolationis Jerusalem septuaginta anni.
Dani DRC 9:3  And I set my face to the Lord, my God, to pray and make supplication with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes.
Dani KJV 9:3  And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:
Dani VulgClem 9:3  Et posui faciem meam ad Dominum Deum meum rogare et deprecari in jejuniis, sacco, et cinere.
Dani DRC 9:4  And I prayed to the Lord, my God, and I made my confession, and said: I beseech thee, O Lord God, great and terrible, who keepest the covenant, and mercy to them that love thee, and keep thy commandments.
Dani KJV 9:4  And I prayed unto the Lord my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;
Dani VulgClem 9:4  Et oravi Dominum Deum meum, et confessus sum, et dixi : Obsecro, Domine Deus magne et terribilis, custodiens pactum, et misericordiam diligentibus te, et custodientibus mandata tua :
Dani DRC 9:5  We have sinned, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly, and have revolted: and we have gone aside from thy commandments, and thy judgments.
Dani KJV 9:5  We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments:
Dani VulgClem 9:5  peccavimus, iniquitatem fecimus, impie egimus, et recessimus : et declinavimus a mandatis tuis ac judiciis.
Dani DRC 9:6  We have not hearkened to thy servants, the prophets, that have spoken in thy name to our kings, to our princes, to our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
Dani KJV 9:6  Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
Dani VulgClem 9:6  Non obedivimus servis tuis prophetis, qui locuti sunt in nomine tuo regibus nostris, principibus nostris, patribus nostris, omnique populo terræ.
Dani DRC 9:7  To thee, O Lord, justice: but to us confusion of face, as at this day to the men of Juda, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, to them that are near, and to them that are far off, in all the countries whither thou hast driven them, for their iniquities, by which they have sinned against thee.
Dani KJV 9:7  O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee.
Dani DRC 9:8  O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, that have sinned.
Dani KJV 9:8  O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.
Dani VulgClem 9:8  Domine, nobis confusio faciei, regibus nostris, principibus nostris, et patribus nostris, qui peccaverunt.
Dani DRC 9:9  But to thee, the Lord our God, mercy and forgiveness, for we have departed from thee:
Dani KJV 9:9  To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him;
Dani VulgClem 9:9  Tibi autem Domino Deo nostro misericordia et propitiatio, quia recessimus a te,
Dani DRC 9:10  And we have not hearkened to the voice of the Lord, our God, to walk in his law, which he set before us by his servants, the prophets.
Dani KJV 9:10  Neither have we obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.
Dani DRC 9:11  And all Israel have transgressed thy law, and have turned away from hearing thy voice, and the malediction, and the curse, which is written in the book of Moses, the servant of God, is fallen upon us, because we have sinned against him.
Dani KJV 9:11  Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him.
Dani DRC 9:12  And he hath confirmed his words which he spoke against us, and against our princes that judged us, that he would bring in upon us a great evil, such as never was under all the heaven, according to that which hath been done in Jerusalem.
Dani KJV 9:12  And he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem.
Dani DRC 9:13  As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: and we entreated not thy face, O Lord our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and think on thy truth.
Dani KJV 9:13  As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the Lord our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth.
Dani DRC 9:14  And the Lord hath watched upon the evil, and hath brought it upon us: the Lord, our God, is just in all his works which he hath done: for we have not hearkened to his voice.
Dani KJV 9:14  Therefore hath the Lord watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the Lord our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice.
Dani VulgClem 9:14  Et vigilavit Dominus super malitiam, et adduxit eam super nos. Justus Dominus Deus noster in omnibus operibus suis, quæ fecit : non enim audivimus vocem ejus.
Dani DRC 9:15  And now, O Lord, our God, who hast brought forth thy people out of the land of Egypt, with a strong hand, and hast made thee a name as at this day: we have sinned, we have committed iniquity,
Dani KJV 9:15  And now, O Lord our God, that hast brought thy people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast gotten thee renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly.
Dani VulgClem 9:15  Et nunc Domine Deus noster, qui eduxisti populum tuum de terra Ægypti in manu forti, et fecisti tibi nomen secundum diem hanc : peccavimus, iniquitatem fecimus.
Dani DRC 9:16  O Lord, against all thy justice: let thy wrath and thy indignation be turned away, I beseech thee, from thy city, Jerusalem, and from thy holy mountain. For by reason of our sins, and the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem, and thy people, are a reproach to all that are round about us.
Dani KJV 9:16  O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us.
Dani DRC 9:17  Now, therefore, O our God, hear the supplication of thy servant, and his prayers: and shew thy face upon thy sanctuary, which is desolate, for thy own sake.
Dani KJV 9:17  Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord’s sake.
Dani DRC 9:18  Incline, O my God, thy ear, and hear: open thy eyes, and see our desolation, and the city upon which thy name is called: for it is not for our justifications that we present our prayers before thy face, but for the multitude of thy tender mercies.
Dani KJV 9:18  O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies.
Dani DRC 9:19  O Lord, hear: O Lord, be appeased: hearken, and do: delay not, for thy own sake, O my God: because thy name is invocated upon thy city, and upon thy people.
Dani KJV 9:19  O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.
Dani DRC 9:20  Now while I was yet speaking, and praying, and confessing my sins, and the sins of my people of Israel, and presenting my supplications in the sight of my God, for the holy mountain of my God:
Dani KJV 9:20  And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God;
Dani DRC 9:21  As I was yet speaking in prayer, behold the man, Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, flying swiftly, touched me at the time of the evening sacrifice.
Dani KJV 9:21  Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.
Dani VulgClem 9:21  adhuc me loquente in oratione, ecce vir Gabriel, quem videram in visione a principio, cito volans tetigit me in tempore sacrificii vespertini.
Dani DRC 9:22  And he instructed me, and spoke to me, and said: O Daniel, I am now come forth to teach thee, and that thou mightest understand.
Dani KJV 9:22  And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding.
Dani DRC 9:23  From the beginning of thy prayers the word came forth: and I am come to shew it to thee, because thou art a man of desires: therefore, do thou mark the word, and understand the vision.
Dani KJV 9:23  At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.
Dani DRC 9:24  Seventy weeks are shortened upon thy people, and upon thy holy city, that transgression may be finished, and sin may have an end, and iniquity may be abolished; and everlasting justice may be brought; and vision and prophecy may be fulfilled; and the Saint of saints may be anointed.
Dani KJV 9:24  Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
Dani DRC 9:25  Know thou, therefore, and take notice: that from the going forth of the word, to build up Jerusalem again, unto Christ, the prince, there shall be seven weeks, and sixty-two weeks: and the street shall be built again, and the walls, in straitness of times.
Dani KJV 9:25  Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
Dani DRC 9:26  And after sixty-two weeks Christ shall be slain: and the people that shall deny him shall not be his. And a people, with their leader, that shall come, shall destroy the city, and the sanctuary: and the end thereof shall be waste, and after the end of the war the appointed desolation.
Dani KJV 9:26  And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
Dani DRC 9:27  And he shall confirm the covenant with many, in one week: and in the half of the week the victim and the sacrifice shall fail: and there shall be in the temple the abomination of desolation: and the desolation shall continue even to the consummation, and to the end.
Dani KJV 9:27  And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
Chapter 10
Dani DRC 10:1  In the third year of Cyrus, king of the Persians, a word was revealed to Daniel, surnamed Baltassar, and a true word, and great strength: and he understood the word: for there is need of understanding in a vision.
Dani KJV 10:1  In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.
Dani DRC 10:2  In those days I, Daniel, mourned the days of three weeks.
Dani KJV 10:2  In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.
Dani VulgClem 10:2  In diebus illis ego Daniel lugebam trium hebdomadarum diebus :
Dani DRC 10:3  I ate no desirable bread, and neither flesh, nor wine, entered into my mouth, neither was I anointed with ointment: till the days of three weeks were accomplished.
Dani KJV 10:3  I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
Dani DRC 10:4  And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, I was by the great river, which is the Tigris.
Dani KJV 10:4  And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel;
Dani DRC 10:5  And I lifted up my eyes, and I saw: and behold a man clothed in linen, and his loins were girded with the finest gold:
Dani KJV 10:5  Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:
Dani VulgClem 10:5  Et levavi oculos meos, et vidi : et ecce vir unus vestitus lineis, et renes ejus accincti auro obrizo :
Dani DRC 10:6  And his body was like the chrysolite, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as a burning lamp: and his arms, and all downward even to the feet, like in appearance to glittering brass: and the voice of his word like the voice of a multitude.
Dani KJV 10:6  His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
Dani DRC 10:7  And I, Daniel alone, saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw it not: but an exceeding great terror fell upon them, and they fled away, and hid themselves.
Dani KJV 10:7  And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.
Dani DRC 10:8  And I, being left alone, saw this great vision: and there remained no strength in me, and the appearance of my countenance was changed in me, and I fainted away, and retained no strength.
Dani KJV 10:8  Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.
Dani VulgClem 10:8  Ego autem relictus solus vidi visionem grandem hanc : et non remansit in me fortitudo, sed et species mea immutata est in me, et emarcui, nec habui quidquam virium.
Dani DRC 10:9  And I heard the voice of his words: and when I heard I lay in a consternation upon my face, and my face was close to the ground.
Dani KJV 10:9  Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.
Dani VulgClem 10:9  Et audivi vocem sermonum ejus : et audiens jacebam consternatus super faciem meam, et vultus meus hærebat terræ.
Dani DRC 10:10  And behold a hand touched me, and lifted me up upon my knees, and upon the joints of my hands.
Dani KJV 10:10  And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.
Dani VulgClem 10:10  Et ecce manus tetigit me, et erexit me super genua mea, et super articulos manuum mearum.
Dani DRC 10:11  And he said to me: Daniel, thou man of desires, understand the words that I speak to thee, and stand upright: for I am sent now to thee. And when he had said this word to me, I stood trembling.
Dani KJV 10:11  And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.
Cumque dixisset mihi sermonem istum, steti tremens.
Dani DRC 10:12  And he said to me: Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thy heart to understand, to afflict thyself in the sight of thy God, thy words have been heard: and I am come for thy words.
Dani KJV 10:12  Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
Dani DRC 10:13  But the prince of the kingdom of the Persians resisted me one and twenty days: and behold Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, and I remained there by the king of the Persians.
Dani KJV 10:13  But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
Dani DRC 10:14  But I am come to teach thee what things shall befall thy people in the latter days, for as yet the vision is for days.
Dani KJV 10:14  Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.
Dani DRC 10:15  And when he was speaking such words to me, I cast down my countenance to the ground, and held my peace.
Dani KJV 10:15  And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb.
Dani VulgClem 10:15  Cumque loqueretur mihi hujuscemodi verbis, dejeci vultum meum ad terram, et tacui.
Dani DRC 10:16  And behold as it were the likeness of a son of man touched my lips: then I opened my mouth and spoke, and said to him that stood before me: O my lord, at the sight of thee my joints are loosed, and no strength hath remained in me.
Dani KJV 10:16  And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.
Dani VulgClem 10:16  Et ecce quasi similitudo filii hominis tetigit labia mea : et aperiens os meum locutus sum, et dixi ad eum, qui stabat contra me : Domine mi, in visione tua dissolutæ sunt compages meæ, et nihil in me remansit virium.
Dani DRC 10:17  And how can the servant of my lord speak with my lord? for no strength remaineth in me; moreover, my breath is stopped.
Dani KJV 10:17  For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me.
Dani DRC 10:18  Therefore, he that looked like a man, touched me again, and strengthened me.
Dani KJV 10:18  Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,
Dani VulgClem 10:18  Rursum ergo tetigit me quasi visio hominis, et confortavit me,
Dani DRC 10:19  And he said: Fear not, O man of desires, peace be to thee: take courage, and be strong. And when he spoke to me, I grew strong, and I said: Speak, O my lord, for thou hast strengthened me.
Dani KJV 10:19  And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.
Dani VulgClem 10:19  et dixit : Noli timere, vir desideriorum : pax tibi : confortare, et esto robustus. Cumque loqueretur mecum, convalui, et dixi : Loquere, domine mi, quia confortasti me.
Dani DRC 10:20  And he said: Dost thou know wherefore I am come to thee? And now I will return, to fight against the prince of the Persians. When I went forth, there appeared the prince of the Greeks coming.
Dani KJV 10:20  Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come.
Dani DRC 10:21  But I will tell thee what is set down in the scripture of truth: and none is my helper in all these things, but Michael your prince.
Dani KJV 10:21  But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.
Chapter 11
Dani DRC 11:1  And from the first year of Darius, the Mede, I stood up, that he might be strengthened, and confirmed.
Dani KJV 11:1  Also I in the first year of Darius the Mede, even I, stood to confirm and to strengthen him.
Dani DRC 11:2  And now I will shew thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand yet three kings in Persia, and the fourth shall be enriched exceedingly above them all: and when he shall be grown mighty by his riches, he shall stir up all against the kingdom of Greece.
Dani KJV 11:2  And now will I shew thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Grecia.
Dani VulgClem 11:2  Et nunc veritatem annuntiabo tibi. Ecce adhuc tres reges stabunt in Perside, et quartus ditabitur opibus nimiis super omnes : et cum invaluerit divitiis suis, concitabit omnes adversum regnum Græciæ.
Dani DRC 11:3  But there shall rise up a strong king, and shall rule with great power: and he shall do what he pleaseth.
Dani KJV 11:3  And a mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will.
Dani DRC 11:4  And when he shall come to his height, his kingdom shall be broken, and it shall be divided towards the four winds of the heaven: but not to his posterity, nor according to his power with which he ruled. For his kingdom shall be rent in pieces, even for strangers, besides these.
Dani KJV 11:4  And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those.
Dani DRC 11:5  And the king of the south shall be strengthened, and one of his princes shall prevail over him, and he shall rule with great power: for his dominions shall be great.
Dani KJV 11:5  And the king of the south shall be strong, and one of his princes; and he shall be strong above him, and have dominion; his dominion shall be a great dominion.
Dani DRC 11:6  And after the end of years they shall be in league together: and the daughter of the king of the south shall come to the king of the north to make friendship, but she shall not obtain the strength of the arm, neither shall her seed stand: and she shall be given up, and her young men that brought her, and they that strengthened her in these times.
Dani KJV 11:6  And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for the king’s daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: but she shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: but she shall be given up, and they that brought her, and he that begat her, and he that strengthened her in these times.
Dani DRC 11:7  And a plant of the bud of her roots shall stand up: and he shall come with an army, and shall enter into the province of the king of the north: and he shall abuse them, and shall prevail.
Dani KJV 11:7  But out of a branch of her roots shall one stand up in his estate, which shall come with an army, and shall enter into the fortress of the king of the north, and shall deal against them, and shall prevail:
Dani VulgClem 11:7  Et stabit de germine radicum ejus plantatio : et veniet cum exercitu, et ingredietur provinciam regis aquilonis : et abutetur eis, et obtinebit.
Dani DRC 11:8  And he shall also carry away captive into Egypt their gods, and their graven things, and their precious vessels of gold and silver: he shall prevail against the king of the north.
Dani KJV 11:8  And shall also carry captives into Egypt their gods, with their princes, and with their precious vessels of silver and of gold; and he shall continue more years than the king of the north.
Dani VulgClem 11:8  Insuper et deos eorum, et sculptilia, vasa quoque pretiosa argenti et auri, captiva ducet in Ægyptum : ipse prævalebit adversus regem aquilonis.
Dani DRC 11:9  And the king of the south shall enter into the kingdom, and shall return to his own land.
Dani KJV 11:9  So the king of the south shall come into his kingdom, and shall return into his own land.
Dani DRC 11:10  And his sons shall be provoked, and they shall assemble a multitude of great forces: and he shall come with haste like a flood: and he shall return, and be stirred up, and he shall join battle with his force.
Dani KJV 11:10  But his sons shall be stirred up, and shall assemble a multitude of great forces: and one shall certainly come, and overflow, and pass through: then shall he return, and be stirred up, even to his fortress.
Dani DRC 11:11  And the king of the south being provoked, shall go forth, and shall fight against the king of the north, and shall prepare an exceeding great multitude, and a multitude shall be given into his hands.
Dani KJV 11:11  And the king of the south shall be moved with choler, and shall come forth and fight with him, even with the king of the north: and he shall set forth a great multitude; but the multitude shall be given into his hand.
Dani VulgClem 11:11  Et provocatus rex austri egredietur, et pugnabit adversus regem aquilonis, et præparabit multitudinem nimiam, et dabitur multitudo in manu ejus.
Dani DRC 11:12  And he shall take a multitude, and his heart shall be lifted up, and he shall cast down many thousands: but he shall not prevail.
Dani KJV 11:12  And when he hath taken away the multitude, his heart shall be lifted up; and he shall cast down many ten thousands: but he shall not be strengthened by it.
Dani DRC 11:13  For the king of the north shall return, and shall prepare a multitude much greater than before: and in the end of times, and years, he shall come in haste with a great army, and much riches.
Dani KJV 11:13  For the king of the north shall return, and shall set forth a multitude greater than the former, and shall certainly come after certain years with a great army and with much riches.
Dani DRC 11:14  And in those times many shall rise up against the king of the south, and the children of prevaricators of thy people shall lift up themselves to fulfil the vision, and they shall fall.
Dani KJV 11:14  And in those times there shall many stand up against the king of the south: also the robbers of thy people shall exalt themselves to establish the vision; but they shall fall.
Dani VulgClem 11:14  Et in temporibus illis multi consurgent adversus regem austri : filii quoque prævaricatorum populi tui extollentur ut impleant visionem, et corruent.
Dani DRC 11:15  And the king of the north shall come, and shall cast up a mount, and shall take the best fenced cities: and the arms of the south shall not withstand, and his chosen ones shall rise up to resist, and they shall not have strength.
Dani KJV 11:15  So the king of the north shall come, and cast up a mount, and take the most fenced cities: and the arms of the south shall not withstand, neither his chosen people, neither shall there be any strength to withstand.
Dani DRC 11:16  And he shall come upon him, and do according to his pleasure, and there shall be none to stand against his face: and he shall stand in the glorious land, and it shall be consumed by his hand.
Dani KJV 11:16  But he that cometh against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall stand before him: and he shall stand in the glorious land, which by his hand shall be consumed.
Dani DRC 11:17  And he shall set his face to come to possess all his kingdom, and he shall make upright conditions with him: and he shall give him a daughter of women, to overthrow it: and she shall not stand, neither shall she be for him.
Dani KJV 11:17  He shall also set his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him; thus shall he do: and he shall give him the daughter of women, corrupting her: but she shall not stand on his side, neither be for him.
Dani DRC 11:18  And he shall turn his face to the islands, and shall take many: and he shall cause the prince of his reproach to cease, and his reproach shall be turned upon him.
Dani KJV 11:18  After this shall he turn his face unto the isles, and shall take many: but a prince for his own behalf shall cause the reproach offered by him to cease; without his own reproach he shall cause it to turn upon him.
Dani DRC 11:19  And he shall turn his face to the empire of his own land, and he shall stumble, and fall, and shall not be found.
Dani KJV 11:19  Then he shall turn his face toward the fort of his own land: but he shall stumble and fall, and not be found.
Dani DRC 11:20  And there shall stand up in his place one most vile, and unworthy of kingly honour: and in a few days he shall be destroyed, not in rage nor in battle.
Dani KJV 11:20  Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle.
Dani DRC 11:21  And there shall stand up in his place one despised, and the kingly honour shall not be given him: and he shall come privately, and shall obtain the kingdom by fraud.
Dani KJV 11:21  And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.
Dani VulgClem 11:21  Et stabit in loco ejus despectus, et non tribuetur ei honor regius : et veniet clam, et obtinebit regnum in fraudulentia.
Dani DRC 11:22  And the arms of the fighter shall be overcome before his face, and shall be broken: yea, also the prince of the covenant.
Dani KJV 11:22  And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.
Dani VulgClem 11:22  Et brachia pugnantis expugnabuntur a facie ejus, et conterentur : insuper et dux fœderis.
Dani DRC 11:23  And after friendships, he will deal deceitfully with him: and he shall go up, and shall overcome with a small people.
Dani KJV 11:23  And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.
Dani DRC 11:24  And he shall enter into rich and plentiful cities: and he shall do that which his fathers never did, nor his fathers' fathers: he shall scatter their spoils, and their prey, and their riches, and shall forecast devices against the best fenced places: and this until a time.
Dani KJV 11:24  He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers’ fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.
Dani DRC 11:25  And his strength, and his heart, shall be stirred up against the king of the south, with a great army: and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with many and very strong succours: and they shall not stand, for they shall form designs against him.
Dani KJV 11:25  And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast devices against him.
Dani DRC 11:26  And they that eat bread with him, shall destroy him, and his army shall be overthrown: and many shall fall down slain.
Dani KJV 11:26  Yea, they that feed of the portion of his meat shall destroy him, and his army shall overflow: and many shall fall down slain.
Dani VulgClem 11:26  Et comedentes panem cum eo, conterent illum, exercitusque ejus opprimetur : et cadent interfecti plurimi.
Dani DRC 11:27  And the heart of the two kings shall be to do evil, and they shall speak lies at one table, and they shall not prosper: because as yet the end is unto another time.
Dani KJV 11:27  And both these kings’ hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed.
Dani DRC 11:28  And he shall return into his land with much riches: and his heart shall be against the holy covenant, and he shall succeed, and shall return into his own land.
Dani KJV 11:28  Then shall he return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land.
Dani DRC 11:29  At the time appointed he shall return, and he shall come to the south, but the latter time shall not be like the former.
Dani KJV 11:29  At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter.
Dani DRC 11:30  And the galleys and the Romans shall come upon him, and he shall be struck, and shall return, and shall have indignation against the covenant of the sanctuary, and he shall succeed: and he shall return, and shall devise against them that have forsaken the covenant of the sanctuary.
Dani KJV 11:30  For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant.
Dani DRC 11:31  And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall defile the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the continual sacrifice: and they shall place there the abomination unto desolation.
Dani KJV 11:31  And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.
Dani DRC 11:32  And such as deal wickedly against the covenant shall deceitfully dissemble: but the people that know their God shall prevail and succeed.
Dani KJV 11:32  And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
Dani VulgClem 11:32  Et impii in testamentum simulabunt fraudulenter : populus autem sciens Deum suum, obtinebit, et faciet.
Dani DRC 11:33  And they that are learned among the people shall teach many: and they shall fall by the sword, and by fire, and by captivity, and by spoil for many days.
Dani KJV 11:33  And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.
Dani VulgClem 11:33  Et docti in populo docebunt plurimos : et ruent in gladio, et in flamma, et in captivitate, et in rapina dierum.
Dani DRC 11:34  And when they shall have fallen, they shall be relieved with a small help: and many shall be joined to them deceitfully.
Dani KJV 11:34  Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.
Dani VulgClem 11:34  Cumque corruerint, sublevabuntur auxilio parvulo : et applicabuntur eis plurimi fraudulenter.
Dani DRC 11:35  And some of the learned shall fall, that they may be tried, and may be chosen, and made white, even to the appointed time: because yet there shall be another time.
Dani KJV 11:35  And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.
Dani DRC 11:36  And the king shall do according to his will, and he shall be lifted up, and shall magnify himself against every god: and he shall speak great things against the God of gods, and shall prosper, till the wrath be accomplished. For the determination is made.
Dani KJV 11:36  And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
Dani DRC 11:37  And he shall make no account of the God of his fathers: and he shall follow the lust of women, and he shall not regard any gods: for he shall rise up against all things.
Dani KJV 11:37  Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.
Dani VulgClem 11:37  Et Deum patrum suorum non reputabit : et erit in concupiscentiis feminarum, nec quemquam deorum curabit, quia adversum universa consurget.
Dani DRC 11:38  But he shall worship the god Maozim, in his place: and a god whom his fathers knew not, he shall worship with gold, and silver, and precious stones, and things of great price.
Dani KJV 11:38  But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
Dani DRC 11:39  And he shall do this to fortify Maozim with a strange god, whom he hath acknowledged, and he shall increase glory, and shall give them power over many, and shall divide the land gratis.
Dani KJV 11:39  Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.
Dani DRC 11:40  And at the time prefixed the king of the south shall fight against him, and the king of the north shall come against him like a tempest, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with a great navy, and he shall enter into the countries, and shall destroy, and pass through.
Dani KJV 11:40  And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
Dani VulgClem 11:40  Et in tempore præfinito præliabitur adversus eum rex austri, et quasi tempestas veniet contra illum rex aquilonis in curribus, et in equitibus, et in classe magna, et ingredietur terras, et conteret, et pertransiet.
Dani DRC 11:41  And he shall enter into the glorious land, and many shall fall: and these only shall be saved out of his hand, Edom, and Moab, and the principality of the children of Ammon.
Dani KJV 11:41  He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.
Dani DRC 11:42  And he shall lay his hand upon the lands: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.
Dani KJV 11:42  He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.
Dani DRC 11:43  And he shall have power over the treasures of gold, and of silver, and all the precious things of Egypt: and he shall pass through Libya, and Ethiopia.
Dani KJV 11:43  But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.
Dani DRC 11:44  And tidings out of the east, and out of the north, shall trouble him: and he shall come with a great multitude to destroy and slay many.
Dani KJV 11:44  But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.
Dani DRC 11:45  And he shall fix his tabernacle, Apadno, between the seas, upon a glorious and holy mountain: and he shall come even to the top thereof, and none shall help him.
Dani KJV 11:45  And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
Chapter 12
Dani DRC 12:1  But at that time shall Michael rise up, the great prince, who standeth for the children of thy people: and a time shall come, such as never was from the time that nations began, even until that time. And at that time shall thy people be saved, every one that shall be found written in the book.
Dani KJV 12:1  And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
Dani DRC 12:2  And many of those that sleep in the dust of the earth, shall awake: some unto life everlasting, and others unto reproach, to see it always.
Dani KJV 12:2  And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
Dani DRC 12:3  But they that are learned, shall shine as the brightness of the firmament: and they that instruct many to justice, as stars for all eternity.
Dani KJV 12:3  And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
Dani DRC 12:4  But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time appointed: many shall pass over, and knowledge shall be manifold.
Dani KJV 12:4  But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Dani DRC 12:5  And I, Daniel, looked, and behold as it were two others stood: one on this side upon the bank of the river, and another on that side, on the other bank of the river.
Dani KJV 12:5  Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.
Dani VulgClem 12:5  Et vidi ego Daniel, et ecce quasi duo alii stabant : unus hinc super ripam fluminis, et alius inde ex altera ripa fluminis.
Dani DRC 12:6  And I said to the man that was clothed in linen, that stood upon the waters of the river: How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?
Dani KJV 12:6  And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?
Dani VulgClem 12:6  Et dixi viro qui erat indutus lineis, qui stabat super aquas fluminis : Usquequo finis horum mirabilium ?
Dani DRC 12:7  And I heard the man that was clothed in linen, that stood upon the waters of the river, when he had lifted up his right hand, and his left hand to heaven, and had sworn by him that liveth for ever, that it should be unto a time, and times, and half a time. And when the scattering of the band of the holy people shall be accomplished, all these things shall be finished.
Dani KJV 12:7  And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
Dani DRC 12:8  And I heard, and understood not. And I said: O my lord, what shall be after these things?
Dani KJV 12:8  And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?
Dani DRC 12:9  And he said: Go, Daniel, because the words are shut up, and sealed until the appointed time.
Dani KJV 12:9  And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
Dani VulgClem 12:9  Et ait : Vade, Daniel, quia clausi sunt signatique sermones usque ad præfinitum tempus.
Dani DRC 12:10  Many shall be chosen, and made white, and shall be tried as fire: and the wicked shall deal wickedly, and none of the wicked shall understand, but the learned shall understand.
Dani KJV 12:10  Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
Dani DRC 12:11  And from the time when the continual sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination unto desolation shall be set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred ninety days.
Dani KJV 12:11  And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
Dani VulgClem 12:11  Et a tempore cum ablatum fuerit juge sacrificium, et posita fuerit abominatio in desolationem, dies mille ducenti nonaginta.
Dani DRC 12:12  Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh unto a thousand three hundred thirty-five days.
Dani KJV 12:12  Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
Dani DRC 12:13  But go thou thy ways until the time appointed: and thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot unto the end of the days.
Dani KJV 12:13  But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.
Chapter 13
Dani DRC 13:1  Now there was a man that dwelt in Babylon, and his name was Joakim:
Dani KJV 13:1
Dani VulgClem 13:1  Et erat vir habitans in Babylone, et nomen ejus Joakim :
Dani DRC 13:2  And he took a wife, whose name was Susanna, the daughter of Helcias, a very beautiful woman, and one that feared God.
Dani KJV 13:2
Dani VulgClem 13:2  et accepit uxorem nomine Susannam, filiam Helciæ, pulchram nimis, et timentem Deum :
Dani DRC 13:3  For her parents being just, had instructed their daughter according to the law of Moses.
Dani KJV 13:3
Dani VulgClem 13:3  parentes enim illius, cum essent justi, erudierunt filiam suam secundum legem Moysi.
Dani DRC 13:4  Now Joakim was very rich, and had an orchard near his house: and the Jews resorted to him, because he was the most honourable of them all.
Dani KJV 13:4
Dani DRC 13:5  And there were two of the ancients of the people appointed judges that year, of whom the Lord said: That iniquity came out from Babylon, from the ancient judges, that seemed to govern the people.
Dani KJV 13:5
Dani DRC 13:6  These men frequented the house of Joakim, and all that hand any matters of judgment came to them.
Dani KJV 13:6
Dani DRC 13:7  And when the people departed away at noon, Susanna went in, and walked in her husband's orchard.
Dani KJV 13:7
Dani DRC 13:8  And the old men saw her going in every day, and walking: and they were inflamed with lust towards her:
Dani KJV 13:8
Dani VulgClem 13:8  Et videbant eam senes quotidie ingredientem et deambulantem, et exarserunt in concupiscentiam ejus :
Dani DRC 13:9  And they perverted their own mind, and turned away their eyes, that they might not look unto heaven, nor remember just judgments.
Dani KJV 13:9
Dani DRC 13:10  So they were both wounded with the love of her, yet they did not make known their grief one to the other.
Dani KJV 13:10
Dani VulgClem 13:10  Erant ergo ambo vulnerati amore ejus, nec indicaverunt sibi vicissim dolorem suum :
Dani DRC 13:11  For they were ashamed to declare to one another their lust, being desirous to have to do with her:
Dani KJV 13:11
Dani DRC 13:12  And they watched carefully every day to see her. And one said to the other:
Dani KJV 13:12
Dani VulgClem 13:12  Et observabant quotidie sollicitius videre eam. Dixitque alter ad alterum :
Dani DRC 13:13  Let us now go home, for it is dinner time. So going out, they departed one from another.
Dani KJV 13:13
Dani VulgClem 13:13  Eamus domum, quia hora prandii est. Et egressi, recesserunt a se.
Dani DRC 13:14  And turning back again, they came both to the same place: and asking one another the cause, they acknowledged their lust: and then they agreed together upon a time, when they might find her alone.
Dani KJV 13:14
Dani VulgClem 13:14  Cumque revertissent, venerunt in unum : et sciscitantes ab invicem causam, confessi sunt concupiscentiam suam : et tunc in communi statuerunt tempus quando eam possent invenire solam.
Dani DRC 13:15  And it fell out, as they watched a fit day, she went in on a time, as yesterday and the day before, with two maids only, and was desirous to wash herself in the orchard: for it was hot weather.
Dani KJV 13:15
Dani DRC 13:16  And there was nobody there, but the two old men that had hid themselves, and were beholding her.
Dani KJV 13:16
Dani DRC 13:17  So she said to the maids: Bring me oil, and washing balls, and shut the doors of the orchard, that I may wash me.
Dani KJV 13:17
Dani DRC 13:18  And they did as she bade them: and they shut the doors of the orchard, and went out by a back door to fetch what she had commanded them, and they knew not that the elders were hid within.
Dani KJV 13:18
Dani DRC 13:19  Now when the maids were gone forth, the two elders arose, and ran to her, and said:
Dani KJV 13:19
Dani DRC 13:20  Behold the doors of the orchard are shut, and nobody seeth us, and we are in love with thee: wherefore consent to us, and lie with us.
Dani KJV 13:20
Dani DRC 13:21  But if thou wilt not, we will bear witness against thee, that a young man was with thee, and therefore thou didst send away thy maids from thee.
Dani KJV 13:21
Dani VulgClem 13:21  Quod si nolueris, dicemus contra te testimonium, quod fuerit tecum juvenis, et ob hanc causam emiseris puellas a te.
Dani DRC 13:22  Susanna sighed, and said: I am straitened on every side: for if I do this thing, it is death to me: and if I do it not, I shall not escape your hands.
Dani KJV 13:22
Dani DRC 13:23  But it is better for me to fall into your hands without doing it, than to sin in the sight of the Lord.
Dani KJV 13:23
Dani VulgClem 13:23  Sed melius est mihi absque opere incidere in manus vestras, quam peccare in conspectu Domini.
Dani DRC 13:24  With that Susanna cried out with a loud voice: and the elders also cried out against her.
Dani KJV 13:24
Dani DRC 13:25  And one of them ran to the door of the orchard, and opened it.
Dani KJV 13:25
Dani DRC 13:26  So when the servants of the house heard the cry in the orchard, they rushed in by the back door, to see what was the matter.
Dani KJV 13:26
Dani VulgClem 13:26  Cum ergo audissent clamorem famuli domus in pomario, irruerunt per posticum ut viderent quidnam esset.
Dani DRC 13:27  But after the old men had spoken, the servants were greatly ashamed: for never had there been any such word said of Susanna. And on the next day,
Dani KJV 13:27
Dani DRC 13:28  When the people were come to Joakim, her husband, the two elders also came full of wicked device against Susanna, to put her to death.
Dani KJV 13:28
Dani VulgClem 13:28  Cumque venisset populus ad Joakim virum ejus, venerunt et duo presbyteri, pleni iniqua cogitatione adversus Susannam ut interficerent eam.
Dani DRC 13:29  And they said before the people: Send to Susanna, daughter of Helcias, the wife of Joakim. And presently they sent.
Dani KJV 13:29
Dani VulgClem 13:29  Et dixerunt coram populo : Mittite ad Susannam filiam Helciæ uxorem Joakim. Et statim miserunt.
Dani DRC 13:30  And she came with her parents, and children and all her kindred.
Dani KJV 13:30
Dani DRC 13:31  Now Susanna was exceeding delicate, and beautiful to behold.
Dani KJV 13:31
Dani VulgClem 13:31  Porro Susanna erat delicata nimis, et pulchra specie.
Dani DRC 13:32  But those wicked men commanded that her face should be uncovered, (for she was covered) that so at least they might be satisfied with her beauty.
Dani KJV 13:32
Dani DRC 13:33  Therefore her friends, and all her acquaintance wept.
Dani KJV 13:33
Dani DRC 13:34  But the two elders rising up in the midst of the people, laid their hands upon her head.
Dani KJV 13:34
Dani VulgClem 13:34  Consurgentes autem duo presbyteri in medio populi, posuerunt manus suas super caput ejus.
Dani DRC 13:35  And she weeping, looked up to heaven, for her heart had confidence in the Lord.
Dani KJV 13:35
Dani VulgClem 13:35  Quæ flens suspexit ad cælum : erat enim cor ejus fiduciam habens in Domino.
Dani DRC 13:36  And the elders said: As we walked in the orchard alone, this woman came in with two maids, and shut the doors of the orchard, and sent away the maids from her.
Dani KJV 13:36
Dani DRC 13:37  Then a young man that was there hid came to her, and lay with her.
Dani KJV 13:37
Dani DRC 13:38  But we that were in a corner of the orchard, seeing this wickedness, ran up to them, and we saw them lie together.
Dani KJV 13:38
Dani DRC 13:39  And him indeed we could not take, because he was stronger than us, and opening the doors, he leaped out:
Dani KJV 13:39
Dani VulgClem 13:39  Et illum quidem non quivimus comprehendere, quia fortior nobis erat, et apertis ostiis exilivit :
Dani DRC 13:40  But having taken this woman, we asked who the young man was, but she would not tell us: of this thing we are witnesses.
Dani KJV 13:40
Dani DRC 13:41  The multitude believed them, as being the elders, and the judges of the people, and they condemned her to death.
Dani KJV 13:41
Dani DRC 13:42  Then Susanna cried out with a loud voice, and said: O eternal God, who knowest hidden things, who knowest all things before they come to pass,
Dani KJV 13:42
Dani DRC 13:43  Thou knowest that they have borne false witness against me: and behold I must die, whereas I have done none of these things, which these men have maliciously forged against me.
Dani KJV 13:43
Dani VulgClem 13:43  tu scis quoniam falsum testimonium tulerunt contra me : et ecce morior, cum nihil horum fecerim, quæ isti malitiose composuerunt adversum me.
Dani DRC 13:45  And when she was led to be put to death, the Lord raised up the holy spirit of a young boy, whose name was Daniel:
Dani KJV 13:45
Dani VulgClem 13:45  Cumque duceretur ad mortem, suscitavit Dominus spiritum sanctum pueri junioris, cujus nomen Daniel :
Dani DRC 13:46  And he cried out with a loud voice: I am clear from the blood of this woman.
Dani KJV 13:46
Dani VulgClem 13:46  et exclamavit voce magna : Mundus ego sum a sanguine hujus.
Dani DRC 13:47  Then all the people turning themselves towards him, said: What meaneth this word that thou hast spoken?
Dani KJV 13:47
Dani VulgClem 13:47  Et conversus omnis populus ad eum, dixit : Quis est iste sermo, quem tu locutus es ?
Dani DRC 13:48  But he standing in the midst of them, said: Are ye so foolish, ye children of Israel, that without examination or knowledge of the truth, you have condemned a daughter of Israel?
Dani KJV 13:48
Dani DRC 13:49  Return to judgment, for they have borne false witness against her.
Dani KJV 13:49
Dani DRC 13:50  So all the people turned again in haste, and the old men said to him: Come, and sit thou down among us, and shew it us: seeing God hath given thee the honour of old age.
Dani KJV 13:50
Dani DRC 13:51  And Daniel said to the people: Separate these two far from one another, and I will examine them.
Dani KJV 13:51
Dani DRC 13:52  So when they were put asunder one from the other, he called one of them, and said to him: O thou that art grown old in evil days, now are thy sins come out, which thou hast committed before:
Dani KJV 13:52
Dani VulgClem 13:52  Cum ergo divisi essent alter ab altero, vocavit unum de eis, et dixit ad eum : Inveterate dierum malorum, nunc venerunt peccata tua, quæ operabaris prius :
Dani DRC 13:53  In judging unjust judgments, oppressing the innocent, and letting the guilty to go free, whereas the Lord saith: The innocent and the just thou shalt not kill.
Dani KJV 13:53
Dani DRC 13:54  Now then if thou sawest her, tell me under what tree thou sawest them conversing together: He said: Under a mastic tree.
Dani KJV 13:54
Dani VulgClem 13:54  Nunc ergo, si vidisti eam, dic sub qua arbore videris eos colloquentes sibi. Qui ait : Sub schino.
Dani DRC 13:55  And Daniel said: Well hast thou lied against thy own head: for behold the angel of God having received the sentence of him, shall cut thee in two.
Dani KJV 13:55
Dani VulgClem 13:55  Dixit autem Daniel : Recte mentitus es in caput tuum : ecce enim angelus Dei, accepta sententia ab eo, scindet te medium.
Dani DRC 13:56  And having put him aside, he commanded that the other should come, and he said to him: O thou seed of Chanaan, and not of Juda, beauty hath deceived thee, and lust hath perverted thy heart:
Dani KJV 13:56
Dani DRC 13:57  Thus did you do to the daughters of Israel, and they for fear conversed with you: but a daughter of Juda would not abide your wickedness.
Dani KJV 13:57
Dani DRC 13:58  Now, therefore, tell me, under what tree didst thou take them conversing together. And he answered: Under a holm tree.
Dani KJV 13:58
Dani VulgClem 13:58  Nunc ergo, dic mihi sub qua arbore comprehenderis eos loquentes sibi. Qui ait : Sub prino.
Dani DRC 13:59  And Daniel said to him: Well hast thou also lied against thy own head: for the angel of the Lord waiteth with a sword to cut thee in two, and to destroy you.
Dani KJV 13:59
Dani DRC 13:60  With that all the assembly cried out with a loud voice, and they blessed God, who saveth them that trust in him.
Dani KJV 13:60
Dani DRC 13:61  And they rose up against the two elders, (for Daniel had convicted them of false witness by their own mouth) and they did to them as they had maliciously dealt against their neighbour,
Dani KJV 13:61
Dani VulgClem 13:61  Et consurrexerunt adversus duos presbyteros (convicerat enim eos Daniel ex ore suo falsum dixisse testimonium), feceruntque eis sicut male egerant adversus proximum,
Dani DRC 13:62  To fulfil the law of Moses: and they put them to death, and innocent blood was saved in that day.
Dani KJV 13:62
Dani DRC 13:63  But Helcias, and his wife, praised God, for their daughter, Susanna, with Joakim, her husband, and all her kindred, because there was no dishonesty found in her.
Dani KJV 13:63
Dani DRC 13:64  And Daniel became great in the sight of the people from that day, and thence forward.
Dani KJV 13:64
Dani DRC 13:65  And king Astyages was gathered to his fathers; and Cyrus, the Persian, received his kingdom.
Dani KJV 13:65
Chapter 14
Dani DRC 14:1  And Daniel was the king's guest, and was honoured above all his friends.
Dani KJV 14:1
Dani DRC 14:2  Now the Babylonians had an idol called Bel: and there was spent upon him every day twelve great measures of fine flour, and forty sheep, and six vessels of wine.
Dani KJV 14:2
Dani VulgClem 14:2  Erat quoque idolum apud Babylonios nomine Bel : et impendebantur in eo per dies singulos similæ artabæ duodecim, et oves quadraginta, vinique amphoræ sex.
Dani DRC 14:3  The king also worshipped him, and went every day to adore him: but Daniel adored his God. And the king said to him: Why dost thou not adore Bel?
Dani KJV 14:3
Dani VulgClem 14:3  Rex quoque colebat eum, et ibat per singulos dies adorare eum : porro Daniel adorabat Deum suum. Dixitque ei rex : Quare non adoras Bel ?
Dani DRC 14:4  And he answered, and said to him: Because I do not worship idols made with hands, but the living God, that created heaven and earth, and hath power over all flesh.
Dani KJV 14:4
Dani DRC 14:5  And the king said to him: Doth not Bel seem to thee to be a living god? Seest thou not how much he eateth and drinketh every day?
Dani KJV 14:5
Dani DRC 14:6  Then Daniel smiled, and said: O king, be not deceived: for this is but clay within, and brass without, neither hath he eaten at any time.
Dani KJV 14:6
Dani DRC 14:7  And the king being angry, called for his priests, and said to them: If you tell me not who it is that eateth up these expenses, you shall die.
Dani KJV 14:7
Dani VulgClem 14:7  Et iratus rex vocavit sacerdotes ejus, et ait eis : Nisi dixeritis mihi quis est qui comedat impensas has, moriemini.
Dani DRC 14:8  But if you can shew that Bel eateth these things, Daniel shall die, because he hath blasphemed against Bel. And Daniel said to the king: Be it done according to thy word.
Dani KJV 14:8
Dani VulgClem 14:8  Si autem ostenderitis quoniam Bel comedat hæc, morietur Daniel, quia blasphemavit in Bel. Et dixit Daniel regi : Fiat juxta verbum tuum.
Dani DRC 14:9  Now the priests of Bel were seventy, beside their wives, and little ones, and children. And the king went with Daniel into the temple of Bel.
Dani KJV 14:9
Dani DRC 14:10  And the priests of Bel said: Behold, we go out: and do thou, O king, set on the meats, and make ready the wine, and shut the door fast, and seal it with thy own ring:
Dani KJV 14:10
Dani VulgClem 14:10  Et dixerunt sacerdotes Bel : Ecce nos egredimur foras : et tu, rex, pone escas, et vinum misce, et claude ostium, et signa annulo tuo :
Dani DRC 14:11  And when thou comest in the morning, if thou findest not that Bel hath eaten up all, we will suffer death, or else Daniel, that hath lied against us.
Dani KJV 14:11
Dani DRC 14:12  And they little regarded it, because they had made under the table a secret entrance, and they always came in by it, and consumed those things.
Dani KJV 14:12
Dani DRC 14:13  So it came to pass after they were gone out, the king set the meats before Bel: and Daniel commanded his servants, and they brought ashes, and he sifted them all over the temple before the king: and going forth, they shut the door, and having sealed it with the king's ring, they departed.
Dani KJV 14:13
Dani DRC 14:14  But the priests went in by night, according to their custom, with their wives, and their children: and they eat and drank up all.
Dani KJV 14:14
Dani DRC 14:15  And the king arose early in the morning, and Daniel with him.
Dani KJV 14:15
Dani DRC 14:16  And the king said: Are the seals whole, Daniel? And he answered: They are whole, O king.
Dani KJV 14:16
Dani VulgClem 14:16  Et ait rex : Salvane sunt signacula, Daniel ? Qui respondit : Salva, rex.
Dani DRC 14:17  And as soon as he had opened the door, the king looked upon the table, and cried out with a loud voice: Great art thou, O Bel, and there is not any deceit with thee.
Dani KJV 14:17
Dani DRC 14:18  And Daniel laughed: and he held the king, that he should not go in: and he said: Behold the pavement, mark whose footsteps these are.
Dani KJV 14:18
Dani DRC 14:19  And the king said: I see the footsteps of men, and women, and children. And the king was angry.
Dani KJV 14:19
Dani VulgClem 14:19  Et dixit rex : Video vestigia virorum, et mulierum, et infantium. Et iratus est rex.
Dani DRC 14:20  Then he took the priests, and their wives, and their children: and they shewed him the private doors by which they came in, and consumed the things that were on the table.
Dani KJV 14:20
Dani DRC 14:21  The king, therefore, put them to death, and delivered Bel into the power of Daniel: who destroyed him and his temple.
Dani KJV 14:21
Dani DRC 14:22  And there was a great dragon in that place, and the Babylonians worshipped him.
Dani KJV 14:22
Dani VulgClem 14:22  Et erat draco magnus in loco illo, et colebant eum Babylonii.
Dani DRC 14:23  And the king said to Daniel: Behold, thou canst not say now, that this is not a living god: adore him, therefore.
Dani KJV 14:23
Dani DRC 14:24  And Daniel said: I adore the Lord, my God: for he is the living God: but that is no living god.
Dani KJV 14:24
Dani DRC 14:25  But give me leave, O king, and I will kill this dragon without sword or club. And the king said, I give thee leave.
Dani KJV 14:25
Et ait rex : Do tibi.
Dani DRC 14:26  Then Daniel took pitch, and fat, and hair, and boiled them together: and he made lumps, and put them into the dragon's mouth, and the dragon burst asunder. And he said: Behold him whom you worship.
Dani KJV 14:26
Dani DRC 14:27  And when the Babylonians had heard this, they took great indignation: and being gathered together against the king, they said: The king is become a Jew. He hath destroyed Bel, he hath killed the dragon, and he hath put the priests to death.
Dani KJV 14:27
Dani DRC 14:28  And they came to the king, and said: Deliver us Daniel, or else we will destroy thee and thy house.
Dani KJV 14:28
Dani DRC 14:29  And the king saw that they pressed upon him violently: and being constrained by necessity: he delivered Daniel to them.
Dani KJV 14:29
Dani VulgClem 14:29  Vidit ergo rex quod irruerent in eum vehementer : et necessitate compulsus, tradidit eis Danielem.
Dani DRC 14:30  And they cast him into the den of lions, and he was there six days.
Dani KJV 14:30
Dani VulgClem 14:30  Qui miserunt eum in lacum leonum, et erat ibi diebus sex.
Dani DRC 14:31  And in the den there were seven lions, and they had given to them two carcasses every day, and two sheep: but then they were not given unto them, that they might devour Daniel.
Dani KJV 14:31
Dani DRC 14:32  Now there was in Judea a prophet called Habacuc, and he had boiled pottage, and had broken bread in a bowl: and was going into the field, to carry it to the reapers.
Dani KJV 14:32
Dani DRC 14:33  And the angel of the Lord said to Habacuc: Carry the dinner which thou hast into Babylon, to Daniel, who is in the lions' den.
Dani KJV 14:33
Dani DRC 14:34  And Habacuc said: Lord, I never saw Babylon, nor do I know the den.
Dani KJV 14:34
Dani DRC 14:35  And the angel of the Lord took him by the top of his head, and carried him by the hair of his head, and set him in Babylon, over the den, in the force of his spirit.
Dani KJV 14:35
Dani VulgClem 14:35  Et apprehendit eum angelus Domini in vertice ejus, et portavit eum capillo capitis sui, posuitque eum in Babylone supra lacum in impetu spiritus sui.
Dani DRC 14:36  And Habacuc cried, saying: O Daniel, thou servant of God, take the dinner that God hath sent thee.
Dani KJV 14:36
Dani VulgClem 14:36  Et clamavit Habacuc, dicens : Daniel serve Dei, tolle prandium quod misit tibi Deus.
Dani DRC 14:37  And Daniel said, Thou hast remembered me, O God, and thou hast not forsaken them that love thee.
Dani KJV 14:37
Dani VulgClem 14:37  Et ait Daniel : Recordatus es mei, Deus, et non dereliquisti diligentes te.
Dani DRC 14:38  And Daniel arose, and ate. And the angel of the Lord presently set Habacuc again in his own place.
Dani KJV 14:38
Dani VulgClem 14:38  Surgensque Daniel comedit. Porro angelus Domini restituit Habacuc confestim in loco suo.
Dani DRC 14:39  And upon the seventh day the king came to bewail Daniel: and he came to the den, and looked in, and behold Daniel was sitting in the midst of the lions.
Dani KJV 14:39
Dani DRC 14:40  And the king cried out with a loud voice, saying: Great art thou, O Lord, the God of Daniel. And he drew him out of the lions' den.
Dani KJV 14:40
Dani VulgClem 14:40  Et exclamavit voce magna rex, dicens : Magnus es, Domine Deus Danielis. Et extraxit eum de lacu leonum.
Dani DRC 14:41  But those that had been the cause of his destruction, he cast into the den, and they were devoured in a moment before him.
Dani KJV 14:41
Dani DRC 14:42  Then the king said: Let all the inhabitants of the whole earth fear the God of Daniel: for he is the Saviour, working signs, and wonders in the earth: who hath delivered Daniel out of the lions' den.
Dani KJV 14:42
Dani VulgClem 14:42  Tunc rex ait : Paveant omnes habitantes in universa terra Deum Danielis : quia ipse est salvator, faciens signa et mirabilia in terra : qui liberavit Danielem de lacu leonum.
